I can't help thinking of the old adage ... "cutting off your nose to spite your face" ... I think Boone is making a mistake. It's no wonder Coy thinks he should go back to that "useless" bit of ground, it's all he's got left of his family now that Boone's cut the legs out from under him and for Coy family mattered. Boone says he wants the love of another man but he already has that in Coy. What he truly wants is a sexual relationship with another man. There is a distinct difference. Each can exist without the other and often do. I wonder if the reason Coy broke Boone's nose is he didn't want to feel what he did after their kiss. He wouldn't be the first young man to live the life expected of him rather than the life his heart desired. I understand Boone is ready to take steps to live the life he wants on a piece of ground of his choosing. He deserves that and Coy seems willing to follow. I think what Coy disliked about farming was the hardscrabble existence that farming became after his pa and brothers died. It was a lot of effort for little reward. Their experience panning seems much the same and neither young man found it rewarding. It seems Will had them bound to a life neither truly wanted. Now free of him they can choose for themselves and it seems that means Larkspur and it's verdant environs. Perhaps both will be surprised at what it is they want.

G'day y'all. The day is chill and wet. No morning walk, likely no walk at all since the rain is expected to continue through until tomorrow morning. Actually I'm glad for the rain. We're running a deficit and much of PA is in a drought so the potential 2" will be a benefit. Then too being indoors will force me to get serious about packing and cleaning. I, well really we leave in a little over 48 hours so it's time.

Those tomatoes look tasty and the rest sounds good too.

G'day y'all. It's a mild overcast day. We had a nice walk then took the car through the carwash. The attendant may have thought me strange since the forecast is for rain from Delta to arrive later. We could receive 2" or more before it ends early Tuesday. The reason I went today is so I could vacuum the interior before loading some items for the trip. I plan to wash the car again on Wednesday morning before we leave. In case you're wondering I pay a monthly fee and so can wash my car as often as I like. I don't have a garage here so with the mild drought and farmers harvesting corn it gets very dusty.

I think I would enjoy that.

I'm no expert, though possibly an occasional "know-it-all".

Oh, so the rogue gets a funeral.

Well dinner was a bust. I got there early to discover people standing around everywhere and a wait of over 2 hours. They don't don't take reservations only a call ahead wait list. We're going to try for lunch tomorrow. I'll try to get on the wait list online before they open. I'm having leftover cottage pie, still sans peas.

I'm meeting my son and dil for dinner tonight. We're celebrating her upcoming birthday on the 16th. Since I'm leaving on the 14th we're doing it early. They have chosen to dine out at the local Texas Roadhouse. I will wear my mask except for the time actually spent eating.

I also forgot to mention I stand out from all the other trees in the forest.

Well it was but now it's not ... aren't you glad it's not tomorrow because then you be upside down or sleeping on Marty's couch.

Thistle is staring at me and pouting. He's annoyed with me because he didn't like what I served for his evening meal. He gets a dry chicken and rice based kibble twice a day. In the morning he gets a spoonful of yogurt with it. In the evening I usually add some chicken broth, sometimes I'll add some of the juice from whatever meat I'm having. Once or twice a week I'll add a prepacked portion of Cesar Simply Crafted shredded roast chicken. He had a package with his meal last night and thinks he should have it again tonight. He refused to eat the kibble with just broth. I refuse to give in. What is really getting to him is I haven't given him the dried sweet potato chews he usually has as his evening treat or horror of horrors didn't share any of the molasses cookie I had as my evening treat. You don't eat dinner you don't get treats. He's not going to starve. I guess he's resigned himself to doing without. I just got a couple kisses to my knee and he's curled up in my lap. My dog is spoiled.

That's easy it's today.

I like it. There's so much to see. At first glance it looks as if the bottom of the string is nestled or merged into the wall.

I made a cottage pie sans peas and carrots. I used mushrooms, onions and corn. I am using up things from my freezer before I leave for mum's. I only ate half, I'll do leftovers on Monday.
