It was a light crowd today. Three kiltings but nothing remarkable. The most fun was Jacob. He is an eleven-year-old that came in with his sister to browse while his parents were busy with friends gathered for a surprise marriage proposal.
First though a bit of background. We have a friend who hand crochets a variety of whimsical hats such as various fruits and veggies, animals, viking helms with attached braided beards, dragons, etc. She also makes hoods with animal ears, horns, etc. Today we had a pair of red foxes, a black wolf, a gray wolf, a brown bear, a blue, green and purple sea dragon complete with two sets of curving horns and finally a unicorn with a rainbow mane and golden horn.
Jacob is one of the most beautiful boys I have ever seen. The child had model quality features. He stood just under 5 foot tall. His medium brown hair cascaded in curls down his back, easily two foot long that also framed his face. I believe if not for the length he would have ringlets. His eyes are a soft muted aquamarine and a smattering of pale freckles covered both cheekbones and the bridge of his nose. While they waited he tried on each of the hoods and in each he was adorable. Eventually, their father arrived and Jacob again modeled the hoods and made puppy dog faces. It turns out the children get their hair and eyes from dad. Who wears his hair short because otherwise he has a mop of curls. He hung out and wasted time with the kids while they tried on various other things eventually they left but later in the afternoon were back and Jacob left wearing the gray wolf hood.
