Sophomore Year - Chapter 11
DirkS commented on oat327's story chapter in Sophomore Year - Chapter 11
Oat, it has been a while...........toooooo long a while.........since the last chapter. I hope you haven't given up on this story. It is just too good to leave hanging!!! -
Interesting story...but "What happened to Claudia..." is getting old. I expect that isn't the main plot of this story, rather the solving of the mystery and the relationship between Benny and Cash. So why not let us know what happened, get that part over with, and get on with the real story, which shows great promise😐. Dirk

Yes! At last! Finally.......another chapter! As usual, a great one developing Adam's character. Can't wait for the next one. Meanwhile....unlike most of my fellow readers, apparently, I really don't see the relationship between Adam and Kevin as long term or stable. Other than sex, booze and weed, what do they really have in common? They don't seem to "do" anything unless a bed or a bottle--or both--is involved. They don't seem to have wide-ranging conversations. I know love is utterly irrational: you don't choose whom you fall in love with, and they may really love each other atm. But can it last? Is there any real substance to it? Do they really build each other up as persons? Just wondering. Don't keep us waiting too long, please!!! Dirk

Great story! Like many readers I wait for the next chapter eagerly and impatiently!!! I wonder if the short story Adam wrote a couple of chapters back is an indication of things to come? Will someone try to split up Adam and Kevin...looks like their relationship is going to become more widely known soon! Love the contrast between jealousy and envy--that was really well done. If so, will it be Patrick, as we are told he will continue to have a significant role in the story? Or will it be Baker? Baker is sort of in the background, but it is clear he has an attachment to Adam. I have been thinking Adam will possibly end up with Baker, because I don't think his relationship with Kevin will last. Meanwhile, I'm hoping the drug incident won't lead to long-term trouble...addiction isn't pretty. Hope we won't be kept waiting too much longer for the next installment!!!!

Week Fifteen Thursday, December 11, 2014: I Can’t Be Gay
DirkS commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Fifteen Thursday, December 11, 2014: I Can’t Be Gay
Love this story...really do. Hate to think there's only 3 more weeks! Hey...perhaps there'll be 18 weeks of Twoey and David? kidding. What I can't figure out in all this is Twoey's Mom. She is a psychologist....she's practical and perceptive...she can read Twoey like the headlines. Surely she can see what's going on with Eric! how he's sufficating and isolating Twoey....and will surely become violently controlling! Why isn't she talking? Dirk -
Hi Owl. I see there hasn't even been a new review since September! I hope people haven't given up waiting for your next chapter. Writer's block can really suck! I hope you will soon see your way through to give us the next installment. I'm thinking the story will soon be over...but please don't leave us hanging!!!! Dirk

Isn't this about where you stopped writing when you had this story on Nifty? Sure hope you will update it soon! I believe you said you had about twenty chapters already written when you started posting here. It is a good story, and I'm wondering when the other shoe (Devon's real interest) is going to fall. Dirk

NightOwl, I really hope you will soon be posting Chapter 20. It's been almost a year!!! I check every day because this story is just so good...lots of great characters, lots of mystery, as well as lots of resolution...just not enough postings ! As for William spending so much time at the Murphy farm...especially since Mrs. Murphy up and left so quickly: I'm going out on a limb here and suggesting that William and Mr. Murphy are romantically--or at least sexually--involved with each other. Does Annie suspect? Makes for interesting speculation. Whether I'm wrong or right, I hope we will soon have an update to give us more to think about. Meanwhile David and Billy now have breathing space to develop their relationship. Thanks for the 19...now, please, can we soon have #20? Dirk

Krista, thanks so much! Great transition chapter. And I'm so glad Cory is not going to let Clinton shrink away easily: they have real good possibilities, in spite of Cj. As for dad....glad he's feeling some pain! Unkind of me, but he is nasty!!! It will be interesting to see if Cory's mom can make the dump a home: I know she will try. But I also hope she is lucky with her job interviews. Thanks again, and I really hope the next chapter won't be too long coming! Dirk

Sigh!!! Every day I check to see if this or my other favourite (Indiana Summer) might be updated, but noooo . I know you guys don't get any pay other than the thanks of your readers, and no matter how much of that you get it won't buy a loaf of bread! But you have us hooked when you write a great story about characters that find their way into our hearts and we truly suffer when those characters are left hanging--and we with them. I'll keep checking, ever optimistic! Once again, so many thanks!!!! Dirk

Adam, all I can say is "Thank you!" At one point you said that writing Crosscurrents seemed like work--and it must be. The standard of writing...plot, character, expression...is so utterly good that it has to be hard work. But what a reward for us who have followed it through! The limits of unconditional love when put to so much doubt and pressure has been your theme, and it has been handled so well. The characters, especially Andy and Matt, have come to mean so much to me and I have learned an awful lot from how they related to each other. I could go on, but really words fail me. So, Thank you!!! Dirk
-
Are you finished, Adam? It's been a lllloooooooooonnnnnnngggggggggggggggggg time since this last chapter. I'm getting worried the block is permanent! Hope I'm wrong.

Im thinking--and hoping--that Tanner is really sort of in between life and death...and that his sudden disappearance indicates he is returning to life! He and Gibby were destined to be sexual together, and as this chapter has shown, you can't have sex with a ghost...the body just goes right through the apparition. I'm expecting Jonathan to get a call right about now to rush back to the hospital because the boy they thought was dead is showing signs of life! That's my thought and my hope, and I'm sticking to it! Can't wait for the next chapter!

Chapter 12: Second Song, Jumping Ship
DirkS commented on intune's story chapter in Chapter 12: Second Song, Jumping Ship
A wonderful story with complex, likeable characters! Really looking forward to it unfolding. One thing I find a puzzle. Jeremey told Sam his former boyfriend would sometime call out someone else's name during sex. If that former boyfriend is Matt and the someone else is Lucca--as it seems possible from what we have so far--it seems strange Germ hasn't called Lucca on it: after all, "Lucca" isn't that common a name, and Lucca already mentioned Matt to him, and of course Matt came to the door while Jeremy was there with Lucca and Addie. So I'm wondering if things are less obvious that it appears. All the marks of an engaging story. Next chapter asap, please!!! And thanks for what you've given us so far. Dirk -
Sweet sounding story that I'm guessing will get darker. And I guess we will see the boys in/after puberty. But PLEASE, Nightowl, do not give up on Indiana Summer. That one is much too good to leave hanging!!!
-
Wow! As always, such great writing that the characters become people we know and care deeply about. My big fear is that Laura is going to be pregnant and Matt, having lost his own father at an early age, will feel compelled to marry her and be the dad he never got to know. But he won't be happy with Laura, and she won't allow him to continue his relationship with Andy--or he won't feel he can. In any event, then, while Andy and Angie may be happy there will be a major void in Andy's life that will always mark him, and that will take from his happiness with Angie. So, none of them will be happy. I don't think I could stand that. So Adam, say I am so on the wrong road, please!!!

Thanks for taking up this great story again Krista!!! This is a good chapter, showing that Jen may not be the devious fox I thought she was, but rather a caring, perceptive and understanding women, just too caught up in the plot of the pathetic father--pathetic, because he can't accept that his glory days are gone and he is trying to relive them by pushing his son in the ways he (dad) wants to live. Hope you keep writing this and allow Cory to sort out his life and come out of the shadows!!!
-
It's okay as a diversion, but I'm waiting for the next chapter of Indiana Summer!
-
Love this story. Please keep writing!!! Guess the dad just got his head poked where the light don't shine and sees the world in terms of himself. As for Greg, looks like he doesn't know where he is! I'm waiting for the next chapter!!!

This is a really good story...showing how the lack of human love from those who should give it and friendship from one's peers can really turn a person's life around for the worse. Hope you keep writing, Empathy...I really want to see what is going to happen here.
-
Oh man...thanks. You know, reading this was sort of religious experience for me...it says so much of what I've heard said in church (but not always seen practiced). this is so spot on! thanks again

This is such a great story...lots of issues. I'm betting Billy's Dad is behind the Candace business. But now that the boys are confronting their true feelings for each other there is still the probability of David having to go home and their lives screwed up. I know work of this calibre takes a lot of time to compose, but I hope you won't make us wait much longer. Meanwhile, what's Mrs. T. up to?????
