As much as I don't like it, this is a good spot to end book 1. A lot of things can happen between the escape and when Rory finds a dead Kieran. According to the vision, Rory is with the Fae when he finds Kieran. That alone makes me wonder if Lachlan is now dead or something that will happen later on? And what of Desmond? Or Scarlet?

So typical in American Schools. Blame the victim, instead of looking at the bullying and understanding that kids can snap! Whose fault is it? Besides the bully, the administration wants to blame everyone for the fight, except themselves (for not insisting on no bullying).

It is interesting how Marc has positioned himself and Adam, should he find it necessary to dissolve the corporation. I'm afraid I still don't understand what the Private Reserves are. Would someone explain that to me?

I sure hope that Marc and Adam can resume their relationship. I know that Marc expects no jealousy from Adam when he learns Marc has been sleeping with others. I would hope that Marc gives Adam the same courtesy should it be found that Adam has also slept with others.

Does age or gender matter at all to these types of people? I assume it doesn't, as it is all a power play.

I do agree that this chapter did seem to be a good place to end the story. I'm also glad that there will be a few more chapters before the ending. Gray and Raffa are the sort of couple that was made in heaven. -
Oooo... That first paragraph in the last section hurt my brain! It's 1341 words long! I can see how Marc is setting his own corp up. I can see how he is setting up his fleet. I can see how he wants the relationship with Adam to go. What I don't see is any compromise in his relationship. That is not how such things work. Only Master/Slave relationships work that way... At least that's the kind of relationship I'm seeing here. My way or the Highway! That's what I see. I hope I'm wrong.

Since Desmond appears to know much about how the fae bond works, he must also know he can never have Rory. So, what is Desmond's game? Has Desmond been ensorcelled by the Dark God? Heimdall should be able to 'see' this. And what about Lachlan's bond? Scarlet shouldn't be able to entice him.

I had to go back and reread chapter 1. The only real clue is that the Seer, Cassandra, said (or more likely implied) his mate lived on the top floor of a 'Tower.' We don't know if the Seer specified which building. I can see that Danny may be the fated mate. He lives on the top floor. Unlike most humans, he smells good to Ryder. Could it be that Ryder thinks this other male is his mate and that it is actually Danny? Since it looks like there will be no sex tonight, we may well have a comedy of errors (the joke will be on Ryder), as Ryder searches for one mate not realizing his mate is right in front of him! At least until Danny and Ryder have sex with each other. Like always, this is just supposition on my part. I am usually wrong! 😢- 35 comments

Best behavior? You're joking, right? Nave and Skai. Emaneé Q and Prince Aulus. It's bad enough that Jacob and Kaylec are in the same room, together. I can't wait to see how Jacob will explain these 'friends' and how the dinner will proceed! It oughta be loads of fun.

I will echo the comments about the battle. Great scenes! So, the 'slave captives' have come from ALL OVER the confederation. That is a clue to who these pirates really are. Marc has yet to make that connection.

@weinerdog, something similar happened to me, only I was much, much younger. I contracted polio back in 1959. It was months after I was out of the hospital before I regained the use of my legs. Something the doctors said would never happen. I was bound and determined that I wasn't gonna be an invalid for the rest of my life. I didn't have the support of my family. I was too young to have any thoughts of a lover. Whatever I did, however it happened, it must have worked. By the time I was in High School, I played some sports. As a sophomore, I played as a wide receiver in Jr. Varsity. Later in life I joined the Marine Corps. The mind and the will to survive can sometimes do wonderous things.

The thing(s) that are often overlooked by many (if not most) of us, is that we live in a very male-centric society. For a man to lose the ability of his legs is bad enough. Should we add in the possibility of losing our sex... Well, it is nothing less than losing our identity. Coming back from that is a tough road that some never recover from. It matters not if we are straight, gay, or somewhere in between. The natural reaction is to push away anyone who might try to say things will be OK, especially if we have a lover. How can they still love us if we are nothing more than totally dependent upon them? We all hope that this is a temporary condition for Raffa. Realistically, we need to see things from his POV to act accordingly.

I can understand Raffa's feelings. Let's just hope that the numbness does not mean paralysis... Let's hope this is a temporary thing.

It looks as if the invasion force is ready to step into Marc's trap. I hope it goes as well as Marc plans it to go. Like all battles, things can go wonky when you least expect it. There is now some hope that Marc and Adam can reconcile.
