What baggage? If Drew doesn't know, then there is no baggage at all. Again, there is no closet if the person simply doesn't know. Consider what Nate says here: There are more than a few of us who don't consider it or even have an inkling until later in life, especially if we grew up like Drew has been portrayed.
-
It is painfully obvious to me that Drew is like me. Gay but not really knowing, so it can't be admitted. Not so much as in the closet as it is not knowing yourself.
-
I'm only 4 chapters in, but it is obvious to me (and I guess everyone else) that Drew is "helping" Mickey more than a normal friend would do.

I saw this story (chapters being posted) a few times in the last couple of weeks, so I decided to check it out. I like how this has started, so I will be binging (since I see there are 30 chapters)!
-
After the previous couple of chapters, this was fairly lighthearted. Skai and Nave working (mostly) together to rid the world of the people who hurt Zac. So, we have Jacob and Q. It looks like we also have Zac and Soullen. What's the world coming to? Is it possible that the Skai and Nave can become, if not friends, then not enemies? Can this be what the Great Mother is working toward?

Just what Grayson needs. A couple more asshats to deal with at work! Mike has come up to the upstairs stock room and sees two guys and Gray in a defensive position. Now we have to wait to see what Mike will do about the situation.

Whatever it was about Stringray Head, Jordan didn't want anything to do with it, at first. Then they get to Jordan's home and he changes his mind??? All kinds of speculation is ripping through my mind.

Yes, there is that, I get the impression that she is a general nag... Well, she doesn't accept that Mac is grown up!
-
With that line, I would think so! I know I'm a bit late on this story, but at least I don't have 50 chapters to read to catch up! 😃
-
If there were a place to see them, it would be anywhere near the Four Corners area. The Southern Utes and Mesa Verde (and the Navaho Nation) are in that area!

Is that your first name? 😁

I've been wondering if the evil Skin-Walkers would show up in this story... Now I don't have to guess! Happy New Year, Everyone!

Oh? You want to stick with Latin? Iron = Ferrum Silver = Argentea Gold = Aurum Tin = Stannum Copper = cuprum (not cuprium) To denote something made from a metal, add aes. such as the latin for bronze is aes cuprum. 🧐
-
Hmm... Goldium? Copperium? No? How about Ironium! LOL!!!

Still, it would be good to know if it was someone from work. Other than that, this was a mellow chapter.

I know this is a fictitious story, but it is a story that hits very close to home. Some years ago, there was a huge worldwide raid (FBI and Interpol) on an organization of pedophiles and sex traffickers. It did involve mostly prepubescent boys. Among those arrested were two gay authors. One is already out of prison or due to be released shortly. The other will likely die in prison (that is my hope, anyway). At the time, I had an account that allowed me to access the US Federal Court System (Case Management/Electronic Case Files (CM/ECF) system) and view/download court pleadings. I was asked to search and find the cases. One of the case files had pictures (for some reason it hadn't immediately been restricted). You don't want to know. It took several hours to backup and securely erase my system. I won't name the individuals as it would be too easy to target the other authors and smear them by mere association. Trust me, none of the other authors associated with these two people knew what they were. It shocked them to their cores. It also put several websites under a federal microscope. Every admin had to delve into their backends and search for hidden files. What I'm trying to say is that the basic scenario for this story may be completely true.

Kyle sent me a small section that is about 16,900 words, on boxing day. Then just today he sent an additional 6,133 word rewrite to that section. Not sure how big this section will be until I stitch them together. I was told he only has 3 or 4 sections to go. sigh

So, the Chicago Mob contacts the New York mob; the Atlanta mob; the Miami mob; The Vegas and Reno mobs; and the San Diego mob. I'm betting they can put together the Deck so much faster than the FBI! That's assuming the other mobs aren't up to their eyebrows in the Deck.

I disagree, it's not unfair at all. Even in today's world, small towns have not changed that much. The town I live in has about 4K residents. The surrounding County has about 10K. The major religions are Baptist (and evangelical Baptist derivatives), Catholic, and LDS (Mormon). Do you think their views have changed? They have not. To be openly gay is almost a death sentence. In school, you will be bullied despite any "official" policies. Out of school, you will be virtually ostracized by the community.
-
In this day and age? That is just too funny!!!
-
Something to think about. We know that Charlie was the "Ace of Spades." We know that there are 54 cards in the deck. It would be specious to think that the "Jack of Spades" would know anything about the other suits. So that leaves 3 other unknown Aces out there. Who would know? I would posit that the person(s) who set the Jack in motion would be one or both of the two Jokers. The wild cards. To bring this organization down, the Feds need to find out who those Jokers are. The Jack may not know exactly who they are but would have a way to contact them.

The good guys won one, for a change. Moving forward, it can't escape everyone that they won't win them all. There will be casualties, sad to say. It is a fact of that kind of life that some of the "property" will be lost. @empath, thank you for writing about this. Too much of this is going on, around the world. We wish it weren't but you have shown how hard it is to find these people and shut down their activities.

I suspect that Uncle Bryan will insist on Grayson getting tested. I wonder how long it will take for Grayson to follow through with that, though.
-
Yeah, admitting to yourself is a step. Admitting to a person your trust is freeing. In Grayson's case, admitting what happened to his gay uncle is like a ton of bricks being lifted off your shoulders.

My offhand guess (which is usually wrong) would be a hitman.
