For what it is worth, most of the time I take what is said in the chat room with a grain of salt. I am not close friends with most. When I go into chat I go to have fun, kid around, and see what is happening with everyone. That isn't to say I haven't made friends here. I have. There are people that have become family to me. I depend on them and they know they can depend on me, but like anyone I'm careful. You have to know who is out for friendship and who is out to take advantage. I'm usually one of the first to stop and listen to anyone. Part of what you are dealing with is a result of your own upbringing. That you can't help. The things you go through as a child help to mold you. The hard part of it is finding what you can take and use in your adult life and what you have to let go of. You commented that you were told it was all in your head, well they were right. Your head is where you think or don't think about the things happening to you. You want to make a change, the only person who can make that happen is you. The thing is you might need help to do it. That might mean talking to someone, or medication. The only one who knows for sure if there is a problem is you. Sometimes the voices saying you are wrong need to be ignored. One of the best things I read a while ago was life was a like a performance. You are the star. Who you let sit close to you and who you give the balcony seats to determine how your life will be. If you keep the nay sayers and aggrevaters close to you expect to feel worn down and unappreciated. If you keep those who lift you up and make you smile close, expect to go through life knowing you are supported and can make a difference. you have control on who you let in and how they will influence your life. I know it isn't much but think about it. If you need an ear, well I've got one of those and am always willing to try to help if I can. So are most on this thread. Best of luck to you Harcallard.

Lacey, I'll be keeping you in my prayers.

Welcome to Shepard's Crook where eerie things happen, and things are not as they appear. Gibby finds a handsome young man and before he can do more than crush on him finds himself haunted by Tanner's ghost. Anyone who ever yells at me for doing anything cruel to a character I am simply sending here to read your story. not that it isn't good, just that you are as cruel with your characters as a few other author's I know. Hmm. Damn it, I have to wait a week now like everyone else. I should have waited to start this. Nice job my friend.

# 141 - Captain's Log
comicfan commented on Dolores Esteban's story chapter in # 141 - Captain's Log
That was frightening Dolores. All of mankind wiped out and but a few souls left. Interesting use of the prompt. -
Happy Birthday Stu. May all your birthday wishes come true. Wishing you all the best now and always.

Aww I was hoping for a real book so I could make you sign it KC. Oh well Mr. GRIM guess this will have to do.

Just figured I was a bit behind in my blog. Welcome to the first of June. The weather has been beautiful today. I managed to fill in a hole in the yard, and get it seeded. Supposed to rain for the next couple of days so hoping the seeds take and the lawn comes in instead of the soil just getting washed away. I also completed the beta work I had. I hate to fall behind but this week was crazy with the hours I was working. I also got back the latest chapter on Jonas. Lets just say I had some major revision work to do and got it back to my beta yesterday. Hopefully he will get to look it over and then I can send it off to my editor. In the meantime I have worked hard on completing my story for the Anthology. Choices was an interesting topic and I hope that my take on it finds a few readers. Only, while I'm not quiet done yet, I have hit ten pages and well hoping it fits. Also finally had a chance to pick up and work on the piece I have been writing for the Secrets Kill Anthology. I am saying a little prayer that my ass manages to finish that one in time. If not, well, my readers will get a new story. For those interested in what I do here at GA, keep your eyes open. News may be in the wind.

Elisabeth, I send out postcards about Long Island, New York City, or things that just attract my attention. Some are art, some are history, some are just funny. It is simply my way of keeping in touch and letting people know I am thinking of them. I send across the United States, then to friends in England, France, Germany, and India. I really send around the world. Once I am friends I am friends and I don't think your habit is strange at all. But then again i would have to ask those I send to, like KC or Mark.

Mike, Sorry to hear that the house fell through. I wouldn't have gone forward with the purchase either. Also sorry to hear about your dad. I do hope all is well. Keep us informed. In the meantime both of you will be kept in my prayers. Feel free to vent, that is why we are here.

Cassie, life continues to throw curve balls at us all. I wouldn't exactly say you are whiny or even complaining. The fact that you are willing to go see the doctor is a good sign to begin with. Never worry about how it appears to others. Just worry about how you are doing. Besides if you need to vent you found a good place to do it.
-
Yey. Some focused on Andy. Hope everyone gives both authors a read.
-
Read this all in one shot Mark. I loved it. I like how you made Apple the champion. It put a whole new spin on this. I enjoy your Fairy Stories. I hope you will do more.

There is that evil streak I knew you had. And people accuse me of leaving readers with a cliff hanger. Geez. So we don't know if he was hurt or it was something more serious. Amanda is seriously one wicked Bitch, maybe heading off to some jail time or time in a mental facility is not too far off in her future. She doesn't know a thing about what was in Tanner's letter and is just making jump after jump with no evidence. Then she uses Ethan as weapon. Evidently the Queen didn't like being used as a beard for a year so when the next opportunity came she moved on, even if it was to the best friend of her former boyfriend. Ethan is never going to know just how stupid he is. Well I hope Gibby at least enjoys his trip to Hot Topic. God, I'm old and love that store too. Till your next chapter oh sadistic one. Great read.
-
So Mike spread rumors that cost the school the game. Ethan is easily swayed. The boy has no ability to judge for himself at all, does he? Seems if someone told him the school was on fire, run for you life while he was naked he would. Might be pissed afterwards, but his brain isn't exactly top notch. Still don't like Amanda. Think she is going to cause trouble, but at least we know she is willing to use her looks, sex, and whatever else she has to get her own way. Tanner continues to be interesting. Seems the more we learn the less we know about him. Sort of an enigma that I want Gibby to unfold. Gibby at least seems slightly comfortable with him after seeing Tanner didn't really care about his scars. I know your writing style so waiting to see what nasty little surprises you have up your sleeve. I can't wait.
-
Okay so you let a lot out here. Amanda is truly a Bitch. She just lives to turn the knife whether it be friend or foe. I wouldn't trust her as far as I could throw her. Ethan seems to be an idiot, but then most high school boys are. Tanner continues to be an intriguing character.I like him but still not sure I totally trust him. Would love to know what would happen if Amanda was caught cheating. What would her darling daddy do? Would she bat her eyes and say it was a mistake like she did when she threw her pudding at Gibby from across the lunch room? Well until I finish the next chapter have to say I'm really enjoying this story KC. So very different from what you have done, but exceedingly well done.
-
So a break down in Mandy land. Evidently the Queen's iron grip is cracking. Tanner is an interesting character. You never know exactly what he is going to do or say. I think I have time for one more chapter before work. Onward and forward.
-
I see I am not the only one who gets yelled at for having "short" chapters. Poor Gibby is trying to fit in. He isn't exactly going out to make himself a brain or jock, but just one of the nondescript students who wander through class. His teacher already has him pegged. Too bad Amanda is there too or he might actually have a chance at life. However she is out to make sure his life sucks and he hasn't given her a reason to, yet. I get the feeling when Gibby is backed against the wall, Amanda isn't going to like the end result.
-
Alright so we have a possible interest in the form of Tanner. Amanda's little posse includes the policeman's daughter? Eww, I had hopes of her being normal. The names are a blend of all over the place. I wonder how long till the light on this little powder keg is lit. Should be some interesting explosions as we learn who everyone is and how Gibby is going to fit in or blow it up.
-
So naturally I am waiting for Gibby to run into the police officer's daughter. You highlighted her enough that I can't wait to find out her and her father's story. There is always on queen b in every school. Look's like Gibby has met the one here, and she is named Amanda. I'd already like to drop kick her down the stair case but it is only day one. Sigh. Well at least I don't have to wait like your readers did.
-
Okay, so I finally have time to get back to Gibby. Seems like a guy with a hell of a lot of spunk. Life hasn't been easy. Seems as if this town might not be willing to give him the second chance he needs. Already the firestorm over his scars has erupted, but you can tell he isn't just one to roll over. He will send the fire back at the thoughtless people who began their over reacting with some of his own. I feel for his father. Johnathan has a long road ahead of him yet.

I wonder if I should be afraid. LOL

I've made little secret that one of my great pleasures is getting mail. Anything but bills and junk mail make me smile. I've gotten post cards from people on vacation, people showing parts of their home town or state, and even postcards of animals. Thinking of you cards also. I am also something of a fanatic for holidays. New Year's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas are events that get a card. I know your birthday, expect a card. I know your wedding anniversary, expect a card. Then of course there are cards for no reason. Just a hello, how are you, or thought you might like this card. I'm good that way. About now most of my friends are getting postcards again. I found a collection that I liked so I sent them out. It is my way to send a little thought to them. My way of sending a hug through the mail. To those of you whose address I have, well expect a surprise. lol.

Thanks Joe. I always feel the prompts are a place to try something new. Face it, I never do what many expect in my work.
