Prompt 123 - Oh Mom, It's Spring
comicfan commented on comicfan's story chapter in Prompt 123 - Oh Mom, It's Spring
Thank you KC. -
The sun is shining and the air is fresh, clear, and scented. I walk around the yard and find the flowers are all beginning to bloom. Crocuses poke their heads out in purples, whites, and variegated shades as well. Daffodils and Narcissus grow in groups of bright whites and yellows. I walk past your pussy willow bush and see the soft buds as they open. Soon the air will be filled with the subtle hint of roses from your bushes by the fence. Already I can see the azalea bushes beginning to cr

Prompt 124 - Meeting the Myth
comicfan commented on comicfan's story chapter in Prompt 124 - Meeting the Myth
Thank you Dolores. I wanted to do something a little different. Mysterious and keep to the prompt but go away from what people might be expecting. Glad you liked it. -
More is coming UA. Sorry life has gotten in the way and taken over more of my time than I thought it would.

Billy, You know any time you need to talk I'm here for you. And if anyone has something to say about your work they should come talk to me. Wayne

Now how on earth did I miss this? A Very Happy Belated Birthday Lugh. I hope your day was a great one.

It was one of those days where you just sort of wanted to relax. It was warm, overcast, and just sort of blah when it came to working outside. I had no desire to do much of anything, but Ruby wasn’t going to let me stay curled up in bed. Ruby had learned one sure way to get me out of bed. She slipped up close to me and slid her big wet nose across my lower back followed by her enormous tongue. I’d shoot out of bed like I was shot out of cannon. “Damn it, Ruby. I know you want to go for a walk b

My dear KC, If you think your friends can't tell when you are hurting you are missing the signs. We know, we care, we wait and stand by if you need us. It is the reason you call us friends to begin with. Mark, No one ever thought you were looking for sympathy, or at least most of us didn't. You come in to talk and by sharing your pain lessen it. A load shared is a load lightened. Not everyone can do it. Some are better at trying to hide it or trying to deal with it all on their own. Sometimes it is just the idea you aren't alone that allows you to continue on. Lilly, Glad you were honest and got that out in the open. Sometimes the best way to deal with a problem is head on. Doesn't make it easy, or less painful, just the best way sometimes. For those who were concerned about me, well I am still here, still pushing on, and still doing my bit to try to help others and maybe help myself along the way.

I'm glad to see so many of these being taken up and done.

OMG Billy lives. I've been worried about you. Cia, you know I will always finish up for others before myself. Mark, right after Dan's stuff is yours. -
Here a beta, there a beta, think I'm nearly done a beta

Okay I fell behind. There is no other way to put it. I took on a few writers who all happened to have work for me at the same time and I fell apart. So now I am playing catch up. For those who follow the writers I work with, I'm sorry. They aren't getting out because, well, I'm behind. I'm nearly all caught up now. So look for a new story from Daniel shortly, and a few chapters in the Legacy story from Mark. Then I might be able to put my beta to work as i finally play catch up with Jonas. -
The series was great. I don't know if I will get to see the movie. I loved the books, even though the last one was so dark. I won't spoil it for those who haven't read them. Sounds as though they did a decent adaptation of the book.

Well I anything I try to write I attempt to keep it believable to the world it is created in. There is that sense of what the hell do I do, that is so important here. His whole world boils down to the child he has raised who is now in danger. Thanks for reading and commenting.

Yeah I framed this one and worked it in a story teller type of way. Who better to tell the story of a Changeling then the changeling himself? Thanks for the read and comment, Cia.
-
Thanks W_L. I just enjoy turning what people think they know on their heads once and while. When ever I deal with anything that is already established I make sure to know whatever is considered "facts" then turn my own spin on them. So my changeling is no longer left as replacement for a child. I also tossed in the facts one feels they know about all Fey, but my world, my rules. Thanks for commenting.

Funny, my day this morning started so normal and I was feeling up. I was working back and forth between two beta projects. Finally getting things done. I took some time this afternoon to do a little food shopping, do some laundry and get myself ready for life. This afternoon I signed in and then I seen it. KC's mom lost the battle and had passed away. I know too well what that is like. i can relate and sympathize with his loss. For each person that loss affects them differently. For some it is a release from the past and perhaps what crippled them, for others it is the loss of the chance to get answers, or the loss of a best friend as well as a parent. What each person feels and how they deal with it is different. I believe I am like most. You see someone's grief and want to help, but you can't help relating it back to yourself. I remember my mother's passing, feeling lost, but also having to hold up my father and brother. I was the rock. The one who took everyone's pain, comments, and kept going. I was the family support. My brother had his wife, my father had my brother and I. I had myself. It would be a month later that a close friend took me in her arms and wouldn't let me go till I finally cried myself out. The rock cracked and pain finally poured out. So now all I can think of is my friend, KC. Someone I like personally and hope that whatever prayers and thoughts can bring him comfort find him now. May God or whatever force is out there in the universe bring him and his family peace.

And another idea I just didn't have time to write has taken hold of someone else. I love how you are running with it. It is so very different from what you put up, but then again this is the beginning and we have a lot to learn to see if your short story will fit into this. Glad to see you continuing it. Can't wait to read it all.

Good Witch Vs. "Evil" Witch (The Lies of the Wizard of Oz)
comicfan replied to John Doe's topic in The Lounge
There are only the two witches in the story. If you read the original story by Baum the Good Witch of the North was beautiful and did all she could to help those who lived in her territory. There were the Wicked Witches of the East and West, who were sisters. The east witch had a house dropped on her which Dorothy lived in. The Wicked Witch of the West was a short evil woman, shorter than the little girl Dorothy herself. When they made the movie the Wicked Witch underwent a few looks. First as a glamorous witch, a la The Wicked Queen in the cartoon version of Snow White but later they decided to make her ugly. When they did the recast the witch making her sort of iconic. The Wicked Witch of the East wasn't shown in the book or the movie really. AS for being homeless, actually the Witch of the West has a castle she lives in. Guess you need to see this movie to sort of understand it hh. -
I think most of us get caught up in our lives from time to time. Mine has been a bit busier than I'd like and I have been unable to focus. It is something that happens to the best of us at one point or another. For those following the odd bits and pieces of my life, Dad had his skin cancer removed last week and the doctor is happy with the way he is healing. My sister in law undergoes the biopsy on her throat cancer next Monday, after that is complete they will begin to figure out her treatment options. I've been sort out of it and unable to focus on writing lately. So my ongoing has paused and two other projects were frozen with no real idea of when I could get back to them. The focus on my story at the moment it happened was sort of mistimed but if nothing else is pushing me to get going again. Today for the first time in two weeks I put pen to paper and managed to write. Not a chapter, not a partial story, but a full short story from beginning to end. It feels like a miracle but now that the mental block is gone I can finally see where to take the projects that were suddenly on hold. So forgive me if I take a little bit but I promise to get my act together again. Thanks for the patience and understanding. A special mention to my friends. I might not always be at the top of my game but I think I can honestly say that you guys are always there to keep me afloat and for that, my sincere thanks. Wayne

So you have a child who wants your attention and it results in piercings and hair dyes. Could be worse. he could have done tattoos and piercings in more painful places. Do pay attention to your son/character, Frosty.

I'm glad to see so many but I still wish there were more. Greedy that way aren't I. Working my way through them and they are all fun reads.
