My apologies to all the new folk. Been a bit slow in getting back to this all. Hope everyone enjoys.

Even at the worst of times you look for a silver lining, or so my grandmother always said. So I'm taking that advice and running with it. Today is Christmas and I hope everyone had a great day. I managed to sleep late. With my schedule lately that was an unexpected pleasure. Add to that my father cooked this year for a change and I am ecstatic. I can't remember the last time he cooked. I was luckily enough to have some friends who sent me gifts so this year I had something to open on the big day. I'll admit one of my favorite gifts this year was a book on English Fairy Tales and Legends. Anyone who knows me, will immediately know this was right up my alley. I love fairy tales and have many collections of the Grimm Fairy tales so this fit in nicely with that. I also collect magnets and I received a gift of those as well. Then of course there was the chocolate. As a chocoholic there is no such thing as bad chocolate, unless it has nuts in it. I hope the holiday brought you smiles, times with friends and loved ones. There are so many ways a world can end. I wanted to show that it is never too late to find hope and begin again. Glad you liked it.

And so a world comes to an end. A very personal world. One night of drinking and stupidity leads to the end of everything. I enjoyed the different take you had on this theme Mike. It made it really appealing in one respect and in another I wanted to walk up and smack the hell out of him for drinking and driving. The only good news is at least he didn't hit anyone while he was driving.

Wow. You created a story where it was the end of the technological world leaving people with no way to keep things going. I, like others have said, was a bit surprised at how readily he shot the attacker. I was also fairly surprised that things were not worse. It was interesting seeing how people reverted more to animalistic means in dealing with each other. There were few who acted like Gavin and Rory. I would have suspected at least a few bands who might have become nomadic but had created families like Gavin's group basically did. Interesting story all the way around. Sorry it took me a bit to get back to finish reading the rest of the anthology, but so worth it.

Married couples become a part of one another. They grumble, fight, and love but after a while they know their partner so well. I watched it with my grandparents and my parents. I wove that thread into the story because for so many of us it is true. Thank you so much for reading and commenting Cia. I really appreciate that.

Well I went through this with my mother. So it was easy to create this for the story. Only I gave Charlie a better ending than mine.
