  1. I'm finally feeling better today so I did some cooking. Some people know I am on weight watchers so trying to be very careful with food. I love lemon chicken but so many recipes I came across called for all sorts of stuff I normally don't have in the house or would push the points I use right through the roof. Then I came across this chicken recipe that is easy and low cal. Basically all I have to count it is the chicken itself. lol. Ingredients 3 - 4 pounds of Chicken. (Originally they say use breasts and legs with the skin. I used chicken cutlets pounded out thin.) 2 Tablespoons of Lemon Zest 1/3 cup of Lemon Juice (Basically I used the juice of two lemons and little from fridge of store bought to make up the difference. I always use a recipe as a guide but alter for my own tastes.) 2 cloves of garlic. (I was out so substituted 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder.) 2 Tablespoons of fresh Thyme or 2 teaspoons of dried 2 Tablespoons of fresh Rosemary or 2 teaspoons of dried 1/2 teaspoon of salt 1 teaspoon of pepper I will tell you right now that is the original recipe as I found it. I did cut down on the Thyme and Rosemary cause I wasn't using that many pounds of chicken, because I was using dried I used on teaspoon of each. I had six cutlets that I pounded flat. I will note as I went off the main recipe but it turned out really delicious. Take all your ingredients and put it into a ziplock bag. Allow the whole thing to sit and marinate in the refrigerator for about two hours. If you are using breasts and legs make a few small cuts in the meat to allow the marinate to get into the meat and season it. When the marinate time is up, preheat your oven to 425 degrees F. Place the chicken in a single layer on a tray with a lip. Place a small dab of margarine or butter onto each piece of meat. Keep the marinate for later. Put into the oven and prepare to cook it for about 50 to 55 minutes. (Note : Because I used thin cutlets I had to adjust the time. They cooked about 35 minutes.) Be prepared to check your meat around the forty minute mark because the breasts and legs might be done around different times. Approximately 20 minutes into the cook time pour the marinate left in your ziplock bag over the cooking chicken to give a boost of flavor and some more moisture. When the meat is done cover in foil and allow to rest for ten minutes and then serve.
  2. Don't we always miss you?
  3. Don't really know. I've had surgeries on my eyes and the doctor seemed impressed. I've had a planter's wart removed from my foot and the doctor wasn't sure how I could walk. However never had a broken bone, stitches, tattoos or anything else. Been lucky that way. Are you afraid to try new things are you the sort who runs to the front of the line?
  4. Are you the shy type?

  6. Hacallard, One of the things I have learned the hard way, if you want something you need to ask for it. The less drama and more honest you are the better the results usually are. I agree with Lily, email your friend and tell them the truth. Some of my friends are great multitaskers, some are horrendous. I accept people as they are. Hell, I sure as hell am not perfect so why should I expect anyone else to be. Those who can't multitask, well I spend extra time with them. They are my friend and I make sure they get the time they need. There are some who need more of my time and friends, hell I can see them once every year and we pick up like not a day passed. There are others who feel if I haven't called them once a day that I just am not interested in being their friend. Their feelings are hurt. The only way I know these things is I ask. People can't always read or know how their actions affect another. Don't be afraid to speak up, especially if it is a friendship you want. Hope it helps. Wayne
  7. It was more of people being forced to see people face to face again and not just deal with texts here and there. I was mainly after the changes people dealt with in changing the body and mind. No prejudice, no cancer, no AIDS. What would it be worth to see these things gone from society? That was my take on it.
  8. Yeah, been watching and reading a lot of different things. Have also run into my share of illusionists and flat out Drag Queens. So figured I might bring that into one of my stories and this prompt gave me the chance.

  14. It wasn't how I wanted to start the month. I missed the chance to go to Connecticut and see my friends. Instead i was home dealing with the heat and (fingers crossed) getting over being sick. I hate that. Oh well. This month my brother has his birthday. Not much else to worry about other than my monthly cards to let my friends know I'm thinking of them. Hope everyone had a good day. My thought for the day is this - Being sick I can deal with, besides it beats being dead.
  15. Hi Gang, Well as usual I try to take care of everyone else but unfortunately the heat finally did me. Came home with a temp and not feeling well last night with the temps up as well. Been an unusual summer so far. Anyway my temperature finally broke today but drinking enough fluids to float a boat. Hope all is well with everyone. Yettie, so you know, I never turn down a hug. Mark, Glad you and Stu got to enjoy your day together. Harcallard - Hang in there. Mike - Only you could make an innocent comment seem dirty. Geez.

  19. I'm not sure I'd want to do without my computer and internet but I wanted to do something dramatic without making it a total destruction. Forcing people to really look at things while stealing away the most common forms of vegging out - the tv, the internet, and the radio. Glad it caught your interest.
  20. Thanks Joann. Yeah I never seem to look at things the same way others do, but then again that is what makes writing special.
