    If It Was Just Me

Well we know Casey's father is abusive. Usually it isn't just to children so I am guessing he beat his wife as well. Poor Casey, because he looks like his father his mother wouldn't take him away from that abuse. Now his father is missing and it seems his mother and sister won't help him. I'm hoping Jessie and James are able to bridge that gap somehow.
  2. You are creating an interesting mix here. James is something of an outsider. Yet we know he is gay and likes what he sees in Casey. Casey, other than being abused by his father, is still more of a mystery. Going to be fun reading this.

    New In Town

Russ, Child abuse is never easy to read. I am already liking Casey. Can't wait to see where you go with these characters. Wayne
  4. I returned from my lunch break to find Opie waiting for me in my office. “Ah, Jonas. I have a few quick questions for you.” I paused in the doorway. “This doesn’t have anything to do with that woman who came through here earlier, does it?” “No.” Opie smiled and leaned against my desk. I sighed and walked over to sit down. I wasn’t sure exactly what Opie could want from me and my mind was already swirling with a dozen or so other problems. “So, um, what is going on, sir?” “Sir? Really, now,
  5. Stuck in my head all day today.
  6. Always fun to create a prompt. Not always up to date on writing them. Thanks for the feature Renee.
  7. My prayers and best wishes are with you. Losing a love one is never easy, especially one when we have issues not settled. Just know you did what you could.
  8. Thanks Cole. I always enjoy knowing that a story makes a connection. A teacher I had used to tell me that the way to the universal is through the personal. Guess he was right.
  9. My mom would do anything from making tents and all to keep my brother and I busy when it was a snow day. I just took the idea and ran with it. Besides I have a few friends whose houses are something like an oven when you walk in. Thanks for reading.
  10. Tommy sat at the table and set his sock monkey atop it. “What is wrong little buddy?” “Nicky and I are bored!” Tommy pointed at the monkey and stomped his little foot. “He wants to play but all the snow means we can’t go out.” It was day three of snow. We had already had over five feet of the stuff fall. While it looked absolutely beautiful outside, it was also too deep and too cold to just let Tommy go out to play. His father and I hadn’t even
  11. Had a professor in college who had Marvel superheroes in his office. I thought it was cool but the woman he shared the office with thought he was childish. You know where I stood. Glad you liked it.
  12. A friend of mine has the Marie doll and the scream queens. She actually bought them at a similar store so I thought I would run with it. Glad you enjoyed it.
  13. I normally just ignored most people at the job since the day I got an anonymous letter complaining about the figures I kept on my desk. While most of the office was married and kept pictures of their children, wives, or husbands on their desks, I was unmarried. So to bring a little smile to my face I had found five little figures of Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, Aquaman, and the Flash to brighten up my little corner of the office. Instead I got a note complaining about the sexist portrayal of
  14. Shh. Don't tell anyone but I started to do that thing called writing again. I am doing multiple things at once so unsure how it is going. Chapter 16 of Jonas is with the editor and beta. Finishing three stories to be sent for possible publication. Working on the final chapter of Seeon. (Anyone even remember that one?) Have a new prompt piece I'll be putting up later. All of this and a terrible cold on top of it. Who knows, might actually finish another story then try to find the multichapter story a beta and editor. Wonders may never cease. Thanks for understanding and all the well wishes while my life sort of self destructed around me. Trying hard to get back to normal and finish things off.

    Chapter 15

Jonas tries his best to deal with everything, but often freaks out when he has time. Opie is his boss. Consider him the Fairy Godfather of this story in a way. lol.

    Chapter 15

I'm glad you are enjoying Jonas. He is all of five foot ten inches tall.

    Chapter 12

Glad you are enjoying it Billy.
  18. Why am I not surprised to see this? I swear you have some twisted sense of fun and love to rape what most would consider childhood. First it was Rudolph and now my little pony. What is it with you and four legged animals?
  19. You knew I was going to wish you a Happy Birthday everywhere I could Bleu. Enjoy your day!
  20. I've worked hard this year and there are spots where I just can't seem to get ahead. Sometimes it is my fault and sometimes I have help. I am way behind because with my now way overdue holiday packages I plan to send something homemade. I bought bananas and had pumpkin ready to go so I could make my breads. I left in the am, getting done early for a change, figuring everything would be cooked finally tonight. Dad tossed my bananas saying they had started to turn brown (which is when the sugar is at its highest if you are cooking with bananas) and bag of pumpkin I had brought down to defrost, he thought was something that had gone bad so he threw that out too. So on Tuesday will have to run to rebuy these so I can make my stuff to send. Also working on Jonas again and have another two stories that were suggested to me that I am also working on. So, things are late but I am finally working on them again.

    My Bloody Valentine!

Why does this not surprise me? Just try not to hurt yourself this time.
  22. Happy Birthday Cassie. Wishing you all the best this birthday and always.
  23. I write things all in a note book and I guess I forgot to check it off. I have pages and pages of story ideas that become prompts if I don't get to them. Some are first line, some lists, and hell some just straight situations that I find interesting. I guess I goofed. Sorry gang.
  24. Unlike so many on here, I never really consider my work worth publishing. Face it, unlike so many others who have reached the hosted level, most of my work is in the field of short stories. Even among short stories I have a tendency to go for Fairy Tales. However I have watched so many authors I admire from here take the plunge one after the other. Andy, KC, Cia, Renee, Nephylim, and so many others have parlayed their work into longer pieces and sold them. I was considering gathering all the fairy tale works I have, plus adding a few new ones and seeing about shopping them around. Suggestions? Comments? Is this a fool's errand? Looking for honest opinions here, especially if you are familiar with my work. Thanks, Wayne PS - Years, and I do mean years ago I used to sell a few stories to magazines and such. Been forever and not sure how to even begin to go about this any more.
  25. The Anthology stories are by nature short. We all try to keep our stories concise and hopefully appealing while we stay within the context of the topic. Glad you enjoyed it. There are anthology stories that do end up expanded and taken to new places. However, I thank you for reading and commenting on my story. Wayne
