  1. I didn't like the Scottish accent until I heard the actor who played Oliver Wood in the first two Potter films speak (too lazy to look him up... Sean something IIRC). Now I love it.
  2. I'm beginning to wonder if his innocent appearances are all lies. Still, even that tone is pitiful, at best. Come on Joey, you can be more assertive than that! BTW I wouldn't make this one even if I had the money and time for it. I can't justify flying halfway across the country and back in a weekend. Maybe NY will be better. I was going to suggest Philly instead, but I won't be going to school in South Jersey anymore after the Spring 2008 semester... I'll be in New Brunswick instead (Central Jersey).
  3. Startling though that may be, I'm sure they'll turn up shortly.
  4. I haven't lived in Florida since I was nine so the only thing I can suggest is visiting Daytona Beach, a wee bit north of Orlando on the east coast. There you might find some stock car racing (NASCAR). If you were going sooner then you could catch the Daytona 500. Last years 500 was INTENSE since the ENTIRE field of cars wrecked on the last lap and it was a drag race to finish between Kendrick (I think) and Mark Martin. I cried because it was so beautiful... and I wanted Martin to win, but he lost. But the 500 is in February... and looking at NASCAR's schedule, the closest thing to Florida in April is at Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama... bit of a hike from Orlando. Besides that, maybe you can do a search for racing in Florida in the time period. Daytona Beach is the only place in Florida that I can think for major racing like that but I don't really pay any attention to racing anymore besides drag racing at Atco (Atco, NJ) and Raceway Park (Englishtown, NJ). You could also see if Homestead-Miami is doing anything in that time period. Surely Daytona and Miami do other things when they aren't hosting NASCAR, because they otherwise wouldn't be making any money lol.
  5. Well as much as I'd like to see the USA crush the USSR and take home the gold, I'll be working on Saturday at 2 lol. You know, this USA-Canada rivalry reminds of a song... and it goes a little like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buSwRxvYPZI...feature=related
  6. I wonder if that "World Clock" even accounts for the fact that even the rates themselves are variable and can't be predicted at all. Those stats are all fine and dandy but what about the things we don't know about? People die everyday from many things, including things that this calculator doesn't account for. Additionally, the number of barrels of oil mined each day fluctuates for any number of reasons, such a climate, equipment failure, harsh regions, etc. All things that can't be predicted. What I'm saying is that, egregious though these stats may be, they must be taken with a grain of salt.
  7. Then you haven't watched them race at Watkins Glen... or Toronto (or was it Quebec? Our Canadian friends can chime in...). If you'd like to make a passion for cars out of your passion for jets, then get a Saab... they're born from jets! According to the commercials anyway... and commercials don't lie! lol Sorry Graeme, I'm not secretly giving racing tips to your son. Yes, doing 360's is also known as donuts, being that the marks left on the road by the spinning tires resembles that of a donut. Donuts are done quite often by the winner of a race. It happens a lot in NASCAR.
  8. Then we can agree to disagree. I don't know of the performance of the Turion models, but all of my Athlon's have been phenomenal. I'm about to go to my third Athlon, a dual-core 4000+. Personally if I was shopping for a laptop and it came down to those two, I would get the Toshiba simply because it uses AMD instead of Intel since Intel has yet to please me. The Centrino in my Dell is sub-par... even with a gig of ram in the thing XP MCE 2005 is still pretty slow at starting up and shutting down, though actual running performance has been ok thus far. I was done with Pentium after using a P3 for a few years several years ago.

    Very interesting... and frickin' hilarious!
  10. I didn't read the whole article due to a family situation just now, but it sounds to me as though the guy featured in the article, Arriola, was asking for it. Years of drugs, alcohol, and unsafe sex practices? It's not the rise in new HIV/AIDS cases that we should be worried about, but rather the rise in ignorance that causes the rise in new cases. This guy probably infected a lot of people because of his ignorance and he's likely not alone in that regard.
  11. I normally drive them hard and fast, powersliding around the corners if the car is fitted with RWD or AWD. Although I have been known to inject the spirit of Dale Earnhardt Sr. into races from time to time. In Pro Street, the idea of the game is to dominate, so bumping the other cars is encouraged.
  12. I would go for the Toshiba before the Sony only because Vaio isn't the greatest laptop line out there. I've heard it's gotten better, but my friends Vaio desktop is subordinate to all of my systems (except the Compaq I threw out last summer). I would recommend trying to get a 9-cell battery... the one in my Dell Inspiron 9300 (next model below XPS and very powerful) has been a life saver. Also, avoid Best Buy. They don't support what they sell unless you spend an exorbitant amount of money on an extended warranty.
  13. Pft, you haven't lived until you've seen the world at 200 mph! Granted, the real thing is far superior to a video game... I'd love to get my hands on a Bugatti Veyron, or a twin turbo Porshe 911, or a Corvette ZR1, or a Ford GT, and hit up the Utah Salt Flats Remember kids, a sneeze kills at 200 mph!
  14. Eh, my game crashed, so here I am. My new dual-core processor and extra memory have yet to be installed (need to put in new mobo first) so it was bound to happen with Pro Street requiring insane performance lol. Eastern caught up with the rest of the world already, just waiting on Central, Mountain, Pacific, etc. to get up off their asses and celebrate!
  15. You mean NFS: Underground 2? The recent games in the franchise have been Underground, Underground 2, Most Wanted (reintroduction of police and very addicting), Carbon (poorly thrown together IMO but the Autosculpt feature is neat), and Pro Street, which is the most recent. I have only just started Pro Street and have decided that my second video card had better arrive soon so that I can step my system up to dual-core, 2GB of DDR2, and make use of SLI I wish Electronic Arts would devise a way to take the old NFS and combine it with the new NFS. That would be sick!
  16. I have neither console, so my input will be short. I was going to get a PSP around when they first came out, but then I totaled my car and needed the money for a new car lol. Personally, I would get a PSP just because Nintendo has a reputation for making kids games... then again I'm almost 21, so I don't quite fit the bill of being a kid anymore. If I wanted to go old school, however, I would get the Nintendo unit and also pick up Mario Kart and Zelda. The most recent hand held that I have currently is Gameboy Advanced SP. It sufficiently entertains me for long trips with Zelda, Need For Speed, Castlevania, SpyHunter, etc.
  17. Those things? No. Showing the world her vagina? Yes. Operating a motor vehicle without a seatbelt while cradling a child in her lap? Yes. Making a fool of herself at parties? Yes. I don't read the tabloids. Two years ago I had to write a paper on American tabloids... by the time I handed that paper in I was so with the American public that I became physically ill and nearly vomited. That said, the only news I hear of Spears is of the same kind as young Paris Hilton. Fortunately for Britany, her shenanigan's (sp?) haven't earned her a neat little ankle bracelet. Good for her. As for her little sister, she should have known better. I don't think even Britany would have been so careless.
  18. "You better not breathe, You better not move! Santa Claus is gunniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing you down!" hehe sorry, I just watched a few episodes of Futurama Xmas... "Don't listen to him kids! He's the father of all lies and the uncle of all tricks!"
  19. Great, I guess that means the three stooges will be back on their rain of posts... I shouldn't say that, it's more of a monsoon.
  20. When you're done unwrapping him, make sure to wrap something else up "Wrap it 'n tap it!"
  21. Hey now, those have been working quite well for me!
  22. Apparently it was quite useful... otherwise we wouldn't be at page five.
  23. Best tasting soap I've ever had!
  24. Any person who engages in an act of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor who is not more than three years older or three years younger than the perpetrator, is guilty of a misdemeanor. Unlawful is essentially asking whether or not both (or all) parties consented to sexual intercourse with each other. If this is true (lawful), then he is guilty only of dipping his pen into her ink jar and adding his own solution.
  25. You know it's kinda funny... two friends of mine have suggested group sex on two separate occasions... the first one was drunk, so I figured he didn't know what he was saying... but the second one was only mildly inebriated and he had made the suggestion while we were watching some explicit video entertainment a few nights ago. I'm beginning to wonder if they are indeed kidding or if they've actually been serious...
