  1. Coming out for me was a non-event. I was sitting with my parents and the rest of the family. I'd been out of uni for a couple of years and I'd shown no interest in girls since I can remember. But I'd always been too focused on my studies. Anyways, we were talking and my mother just came out and said, "So when you going to come out ?" After the atomic style bush died down, I just finally admitted to everyone that I was gay and that was the end of the story. I realise exactly how easy I had it.
  2. More GFD ? I'm gonna have to book more time off work
  3. Hyper-v is cool. Let's me do all the development I want
  4. Merlin makes a good point, the five stages on a comicality story, yep me to a tea. I think I got through GFD and savage moon in about a week. Who needs sleep ?
  5. I wish these were around when I was in my twenties !
  6. I'm not 100% sure, but I do know the system has a hardware hyper visor. It lets me run hyper-v. I've got 2008/R2 enterprise installed as the base OS.
  7. Yes, it has hyper threading. But I wouldn't consider VMware for use, I'd rather use hyper-v
  8. I've got an iPad 2, along with a windows 7 tablet, also have a desktop. I love my iPad, I'll not give it up for anything. When I'm sitting on the sofa reading, it's ideal. It doesn't get hot, it's not too heavy, it's just perfect. By comparison the windows 7 tablet is slow, clunky and a pain to use. But on the other hand when used like a laptop it's not s bad. I generally use it if I'm out and about troubleshooting. It's also where I do the bulk of my writing. There are things that the iPad is not good at. For instance, relying here in the forums, your missing all the editing options. Also when using the keyboard, it takes up half the screen. But what it comes down to in the end is I love my iPad.
  9. It's actually a desktop running a dual core 3ghz processor, 8gb of ram and running with a ssd disk. I still find IE9 to be a drag, even on that platform.
  10. I found that IE9 was very unresponsive and ran like a dog. So I've went with chrome. There are a lot less issues with it than IE.
  11. As a reader, I prefer the straightforward chapter 1,2,3 etc. Also with chapter notes, not too big a fan unless the author needs to specifically say something about the chapter, I.e. if there needs to be a warning about content.
  12. See I don't get this. My snuggle bunny is nine years younger than me and I prefer him to be on top. To me it doesn't matter about age, it comes down to who fits where better
  13. You laid an awful lot down in the first chapter, I know it's necessary but it nearly killed me reading it. It was very long and yeah it was slow paced. I've not read Billy Chase, so I can't comment on that. But I think in the first chapter you covered too much.
  14. This is stuck in my head :
  15. Lol, I've got the technical eval. I'm pleased I haven't bothered installing it
  16. 1. Japan 2. Australia 3. New Zealand 4. Sweden 5. Colombia
  17. Depends on the situation, I prefer to bottom, but sometimes snuggle bunny and I fight about it
  18. I did see the first episode, I just couldn't get into the show at all.
  19. I've tried to watch, but I really can't get into it. I'm having the same problem with Grim.
  20. I can identify with that. I never saw a shrink as a child, but the one I saw when I was diagnosed as being bi-polar was about as useful as a chocolate teapot ! All he wanted to do was prescribe drugs and not listen to me when the failed to improve anything. At one point they just made me worse until I'd had enough and just stopped taking them. After that the sessions went more smoothly, just telling him what he wanted to hear.
  21. I couldn't agree more with you Andy, the death penalty should still apply in some crimes as they are so horrible. What type of closure or sense of justice is the family of Jack going to recieve ? None, knowing that their boys killer will be kept in an environment which they have to contribute to.
  22. I've got to say it's a bit hard going reading through this. I like the development you've put into Donnie and the rest of the gang. But the first chapter was a killer, 20,000+ words ! I think it could have been split slightly, perhaps making it a bit more diary style ? But I'll stick with it and see how I feel at the end
  23. You would hope we would be better than this. http://www.bbc.co.uk...w-west-17219696 In a frenzied attack, a schoolboy lost his life. What shocks me most about this, is this happened not too far from where I live. With apologies to our American friends, in the UK this sort of thing just doesn't happen, it's more likely to happen in the states. My thoughts go out to the family of Jack.
  24. Im pleased my snuggle bunny and I didn't have to go through this, I doubt we would have accepted each other's applications
  25. Until the age of about 14 I didn't really see my dad all that often. My dad was in the royal navy, so he was away an awful lot of the time, leaving me with mum. Mum really is a central force in my life, not just my mother, but also my best friend. Also looking back at when and where I grew up, I can't see how it would have been anything other than open season on me. I went to all boys catholic grammar school where academic excellence was the norm. Where I grew up, this was the exception rather than the rule. Of all the kids I grew up with, I'm the only one who went to uni. No, the idea of two dads is just not appealing in the slightest.
