Really? You know where I live, right? And of course everyone should express themselves however they want, old and wrinkled or not. -

Very good, thank you for sharing your thoughts. Next--the turning vampire will likely meet his sire and go through serious pain adjusting to his new status. I expect he will survive. Well, I think I'm not revealing too much, when I answer this with a loud 'yes'. With other words, all good questions, and I will answer all of them, promise.

Thank you, Parker! But what way to change lives! Right? And probably no pool parties in summer ever, at least outside. I very much liked the euphemism embraced. Yes, me too, I always thought it was very apt. We will see, if Kavan can embrace his new life too.

Thank you, Chris! Are his captors going to be good guys or bad guys? That's a good question, but I won't answer it, you have to find out yourself.

Thank you for giving the story a chance, Librent.

Why are some events noteworthy, so much so that still after countless years, and even centuries, we constantly remember or are reminded- forcibly? We’ll never do that anymore having found out the hard way: what the meaning of penitence is by having to endure grief and utter sorrow yet again. So I will remember fondly that special moment in life the joy, the thrill, and sheer awesomeness of all

We might never meet, even one single time, and won’t ever come home from a walk laughing and covered in grime. The day might never come when I am an unbearable grouch, and you make me watch a funny movie cuddled up on the couch. We won't pick out that puppy with the floppy ears. There will never be any anniversary years. We won't take a hike and encounter a random black bear, but I know, you exist—somewhere. It has to be enough—for now—that I sometimes hav

We all are in a shitty mood: today the boss gave us the boot, twenty years of sweat, blood and tears our sorrows drowned in too many beers while he gets away in his fancy suit. This is how failure tastes: today I have forever closed the gates my family’s legacy is gone generations have squandered money on too old ideas and lofty ambitions while real potential has gone to waste.

I am still angry, in case you wonder, it's one year since you closed that fucking door, you managed to shatter me asunder, left nothing else but tears and bloody gore. A squirrel jumps upon the marble stone and watches with your whiskey-colored eyes; why am I standing here not quite alone, providing nuts and seeds to your disguise? You promised me forever, what a joke- a vibrant future: always together- one base-exchange and all went up in smoke,

Jubilee Drama and raving rants, he thought he'd seen it all, so many lips and hands, he never heard the call. Countless blurry faces becoming good time lovers, too many empty spaces: forever is for others. And yet, one sunny day extended to ten years: he found the one who'd stay for candles and jubilees.

Oookay, today is my GA anniversary. Eleven years ago I stopped lurking and became a member. To celebrate this I just published my new story The Cat Burglar. Have fun. -
Winter birthdays suck. Majorly. No pool parties in June. No barbequing with friends in July. No crackling bonfire at the beach in late August, drinking lots of cold beer, or singing off-key to ancient metal ballads. I guess that year, my brothers had enough of my annual whining. They invited our closest friends and organized a beach party for me...in February. In other words, it was entirely my fault that on my twenty-fourth birthday, I sat by the above-mentioned merrily-crackling bonfire

The Cat Burglar is the first book of The Professions Series. It was inspired by the 2021 anthology theme An Unconventional Gift. Kavan has an unsuspected encounter on his 24th birthday that changes his entire life. The Professions Series series should best be read in order, but each book follows a different brother.
