Let's hope Kavan is able to pull this off. Fingers crossed. Konstantin is powerful and dangerous, so much I can say. Thank you, for reading the second chapter and sharing your thoughts.

@Geemeedee And why hasn’t Kavan asked Konstantin yet about why he submits to Mother’s will? I think he's still a bit shy, and he doesn't know yet how to handle their relationship, how to handle a vampire sire. He will come around and ask eventually. And what was Konstantin sent out with Simone to do? She's a bitch and enjoys to be able to order him around. Why he doesn’t just go join the Delacours? Maybe they don't want him? The Tavern seems like a cool place. Great for moving all sorts of plots along. Thank you for your detailed comment. Oh, and in my head it's Ka-Vahn.

@scrubber6620 He is not a killer --or rather does not want to be one. Give him time and a need to survive. So, you think he'll become a killer if necessary? Why? I mean, you could be totally right. Thank you for commenting, scrubber6620. You're right he could get more gifts, to be honest I had an idea yesterday....

@Parker Owens, it was important for me, that Kavan isn't an insta-vampire but has to grow and mature. Mother...oh well she is a real pest and will be for a time. Thank you for commenting on the chapter, Parker.

I think he was watching his brothers, you're right. he needs to be very careful! Mother, Simone, and Warren would kill or torture his brothers if they found out. Absolutely I'm glad you like Kavan's gift, I wanted something a little unusual for him. Thank you for your comment, Kris.

WOW, had someone recommend this and so glad they did. Me too. Loved the first chapter and how it started out..Sucked you right in; LOL... Thank you for telling me. The first chapter is always a little difficult.

Once again, I leaned against one of the kitchen countertops and watched Maria hurrying around the kitchen. “Mother is in a very bad mood. She almost killed her favorite blood slave because she wore a turtleneck sweater,” she whispered while she took a soup bowl from the cupboard beside me, making a lot more noise than necessary so no one would be able to overhear her. “We first thought it was because her plan to make you kill Martin during the initiation ceremony bombed, but there are other thin

Making people sad with a story isn't principally a bad thing, on the contrary, it means the story was well written and your readers could be empathetic, be your characters: when they were happy the reader was happy, when they were sad or upset, the reader was. So, if you want to be the bad boy you have to write a bad story.

I waited to read this story until I was in the mood for a sad, touching story that would stay in my mind. Thank you for telling their story.

@raven1 Do blood slaves acquire heighten sensory abilities with longevity? Some do, it depends on the intensity of the 'relationship', of how much of the vampire's saliva is released into the body and how much blood they're allowed to drink. This is an interesting question and I thought about this quite a while when I wrote about this part of a vampire-human relationship. The fact that they are helping Kaven and Konstantin at the risk of their own lives is very impressive. Konstantin was their former legate and they are still loyal to him, they transfer some of this loyalty to Kavan. I loved how the group has outsmarted the bitch and her minions I had tons of fun writing this. I patiently await the revolution that will change the Night Clan and get rid of the creeps in power. Maybe..... Thank you for the question and sharing your thoughts, Terry.

@Geemeedee I’m really liking Team Double K (Kontastin-Kavan)! Their friendship circle is pretty rad. I' m glad you think so, it's important for the story. Your questions: 1) That will be revealed in a later chapter. 2) Sorry, I can't answer yet, but it's a pretty good question. 3) Doc instantly speculated it might have something to do with Kavan feeding him. He is Konstantin’s Childe, his blood has to be powerful, even if he isn’t a full vampire yet because his sire is old and powerful and the relation between sire and Childe is always special. 4) Kon-STAN-tin 5) Yeah, sorry about that, the chapter was already getting too long. Thank you for this great comment and the questions, Gee.

That's really important. Kavan has already friends.

The kitchen had always been a favorite room of mine. On the weekends when Mom was home, she would cook a big breakfast with everything you can think of, and some things one would probably never consider for breakfast, at least if you’re an egg, bacon, or muffin type. We had changua, an egg, cheese, and milk soup from Colombia, or cornmeal and bean cakes from Nigeria. We all sat around the huge table and talked for hours about people we met, discussed future plans, our life choices, and sometimes

I admit the light bulb has been a little slow, early LED maybe. To say good-bye with a smile is a good bye. I don't think I will ever get over green crocs and hairy socks. Thank you for this.

OMG I was so shocked when Marshall removed the paint! I had an entire different story in my head and thought this outcome was impossible now. Well done, Val, really well done, perfect. I absolutely enjoyed this story.

Chapter 1 Sentimental Journey
Aditus commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 1 Sentimental Journey

What about mirrors too? Nah, that is totally wrong, How could they put on all those fancy clothes correctly without a mirror? There will be more questions answered, for example: Do vampires have kitchens? Can vampires drink something else beside blood? Lots of more questions......

Cozy mystery indeed. I love it!

What? Wolfie just drinks a little water after eating a tasty morsel.

Thank you for giving the story a try, Terry. I would hate to tell you which fictional character she reminds me of. Now I'm curious. I'm glad you're planning to read the next chapters.

@CincyKris Your 2nd chapter instincts are very good no more. I'm glad you like the story so far Kris, thank you for your sharing your instincts. I'm always so curious to find out what my readers think.

I live to surprise my readers, hopefully it will work for the other chapters too.

This speaks for Doc's method of...let's say imprinting young vampires on their sire. There might be already a hint even in this chapter. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and guesses, scrubber. Love it.
