  1. This is an Africa I know all too well. This is a story I am really glad I found, and can't wait to read. Hope my thoughts and comments are not taken in jest, but more in support and acknowledgement of a reader admiring a writer who's chosen to broach a tough subject and do it with the diligence and respect it deserves.
  2. Right, I am somewhat in a dizzy miffed off mood today. So this one is a bit of a rant. There is something that I really just do not get! What is it about sex with a child???? Right, sex is about giving pleasure and taking pleasure right? It is about enjoyment and climax and orgasm right? It's about love and lust and emotions. And you can get ANY of that from a bloody kid??? Ian Watkins today pleaded guilty to a series of depraved child sex offences, including the attempted rape of a baby!!!!!!!!!!! Oh for heavens sakes man. Come on! For those who don't have a clue who the hell Ian Watkins is, he is lead singer of the massive Indie Rock band The Lost Prophets. They are a South Wales band, and as I used to live down that way, I've seen then perform at several gigs and concerts and really love their music. The singer has always furiously denied the allegations which surfaced a few months ago in the wake of the whole Kiddy fiddling scandal that came to light when Jimmy Savile popped his cloggs. Now ok, the allure of youth I can understand to a degree. A young man in his teens can be remarkably good looking and have curves and shapes that are not worn down by time and over indulgence. But I am talking about a young man that's into the latter half of his teens. In the UK the age of consent set by those that have wisdom in these things is 16. Now exactly what that is meant to mean, I am not 100% sure. I guess, what they are trying to say is that by the age of 16, young people have some sort of understanding of what sex is and the fact that a whole load of emotions and feelings and all that other mumbo jumbo is tied up with it, even if they are not equipped or experienced to deal with it. So if they are going to get sexual, at least they are capable of some reason and sensibility. Look, kids are going to be kids. They will want to experiment and try it out and get into mischief. Bloody hell, I did it, and I am pretty sure most of you did too. We all did right? But, for the most part, we did it with someone we chose, most probably with a peer or friend within our own age group, and if it was with an older person, that decision was probably made at a time when we decided we really wanted to find out what all this sex stuff could feel like when done properly, and with someone who had experience. Am I being sensible when I say that this is normal, natural behaviour for a young person? To suggest that a child, one that has not even entered into sexual maturity, or let alone puberty is sexually active and desires a relationship with an older person?????????? Sick. How do you get gratification for a kid that cannot even perform yet? OMG When I see people that I have looked up to and admired as celebrities and heroes abusing their position of trust and access, I feel really mad first and fore most, but completely disillusioned and let down. Why? Look, this has been going on for ages, I know. It is a very dark and dirty part of our world. It is something we know about, hear about, but never really want to discuss or think about, because let us be frank, it is appalling and sickening to think that young, beautiful children are subjected to this wickedness. So no one really says much. But, the worms are crawling out the woodwork here in the UK recently. The police are doing a lot to sort this. About bloody time. I just really needed to have a rant, and put my thoughts down on paper. I work in music, have always admired some of these people. How many times have I sung that song by Rolf Harris called Two Little Boys. It's even moved me to tears! Now, to find out he another of these men? Argh. We live in a sad world. I suppose that stuff like this has always been there, but now that it comes out into the public domain so easily! It hurts. Tell me, is there a limit to our depravity? Just let a kid be a kid for crying out loud. They have a whole life to grow up and get caught up in the shit that goes with the emotional roller coaster of sex. We all know this right? Our youth is a precious time, let the young enjoy and build treasured memories, ones like you and I have. Not stuff that they should NEVER have to be thinking about. Meh, enough said, rant over, but just really needed to get this crap off my chest today. Thanks for listening. Thought for today - "Virtue is bold and goodness never faithful." - William Shakespeare

    Chapter Ten

Crisps/Chips (dependant on which part of the world you live in) I love cheese flavour or tomato sauce flavour the most. Although Paprika flavour can be nice too. The seasoned older man is coming out to play. Maturity accepts what we cannot change and tries to make the most of the things we can control. Meet the parents??? He's a brave man. I'd rather go to war. haha

    Chapter Nine

Ok. Difficult news. Made harder for Mark by the fact he's been through this himself. Not totally the end of the world, but no one in love wants to hear that their beloved is about to head off to war. A lot depends on where he's headed I guess. A lot depends on what he does. But overall, I think they are both military men, and once that shock is past, they get on with it. Tough mental training goes into making a soldier who and what they are. Just a pity that they spend so much training them to make them so tough, and spend nothing on them when they return and need just as much, if not more support. That's politics for you ey!

    Chapter Eight

Strange response. Not sure that I'd say something happened on the training mission.... I am more inclined to think that Trey has been given a deployment to a war zone? Something about going in country makes a man feel very insignificant and mortal all of a sudden. Like return might very well not be on the cards. But then again, this is me second guessing. Interesting chapter even if somewhat leaves us way up in the air.

    Chapter Seven

And there I was talking about over analysing. haha Although, let's be honest, it is something that we all do when we can't get a hold of someone we reallllllly want to be talking too. God I hate that feeling. Loving this natural flow Renee. I can identify with some much of these characters.

    Chapter Six

Hmmmm, so is that Military code for "let's date"? The spark has made them enjoy their time yes, but it is way to early to ponder it too much, although I do guess when it is something really way out of the norm, it is bound to make you wonder. Still, hope that neither one of them over think things too much!

    Chapter Five

Now see, that is the wonderful part of sex as a one off when you really actually click with someone. There is non of that awkward silence the next day. Yeah, Mark should get used to it, it's a bloody good feeling. I just love that Jackie got silenced haha, although poor Trey. I know what it is like, although in my case it was a mum that I walked out to meet.

    Chapter Four

LOL So this is getting to know each other better. Damn, now I know where I've been going wrong! haha Shower sex scene. Oh how very soap opera. hehe x
  10. Yettie One

    Chapter Three

I love the simple air to this Renee. It's fresh, light and flows off the tongue. Sounds like Mark has a touch of a man crush going on!
  11. Yettie One

    Chapter Two

LOL It takes all types to make the world tick, even those that like the 1812 overture. haha Must admit I'd probably be feeling much the same if I'd been on a date with Ted. See............ Don't trust the sister on match making! Whisky chasers! Never seen the point of ruining a fine malt with a mouthful of beer afterwards. Eurgh! So Trey ey?
  12. Yettie One

    Chapter One

Gawd, sister playing matchmaker is never a good thing. Argh. Love the natural feel of this Renee. Flows so easily, I could be watching it on TV. Looking forward to seeing where this goes.
  13. LOL I will follow this man's lead!
  14. Superb. Made me fall in love with a man I've never bloody met. I wants me a cowboy!!!! I was tickled with the name they chose for their son. Instantly made me think of another River that turned out to be a heartthrob for many a gay man. Love how you chose to wrap it up. Really cool. Thanks Sasha, that was a really heart-warming read. xx
  15. Yettie One

    Chapter 8

Me finks there is a sly part of Sasha Distan and that secret Canadian Cowboy wrapped up in the character of Cole! hehe What a totally awesome sex scene. I have never been one for the detail of sexual action. I find it can get crude and raw, often detracting from a superbly written plot line to make a story feel somewhat cheap. I did not get this sense while reading here. In fact, I was moved by the simple yet elegant way that the scene unfolds, a perfect balance of lust and desire, with shared passion and yearning for release. These boys are well written, carefully developed characters and the consideration given to getting this part of the story right is fantastic. Loved this.

What a beautifully poetic way of putting it Rustle.

    Chapter 2

Jole is Gay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Damn. Not sure I like him using Jared like that, but as you say, Jared is taking what he can get, where he can get it. I guess that comes from his own self-esteem and uncertainty, something we will learn more about as we go on? I wonder how that will play out when Cole really enters the frame. Really interesting build up, and the content surrounding sign language and deafness has been really well presented.

    Chapter 1

Stunning success of an opening chapter!!! Loved it. The Hilux, Clarkson, a Stratocaster, Rain, rain and more rain. All things I can relate to and identify with. Blonde hair and blue eyes! A typical heart throb being created, and an all round decent guy it would seem. Character development and plot line are solid. Dialogue is superb. Realism is vivid and you paint with words in pastels and water colours. Looking forward to this story.

    Only Chapter :)

Ouch Emotive and high drama. Never could stand the thought of a parent doing that to their child, and hate to read stuff like that, it makes me want to rage and beat the hind quarter off the bastard that does it. Glad that it is written well enough to invoke that anger in me, that means you are reaching in and pulling the reader into the story, something important if a reader is to want to follow the characters of your tale. Well done. Good opener, and hope to see more stuff from ya soon!
  20. Bullying....... Sadly a bloody fact of life JoJo. That Kyle has fallen prey to it. Let's be honest, it is to be expected at some stage. That you found out about it, and are able to deal with it and encourage and council him. A blessing. I can see why it would make you angry, but the little tyke must learn to handle and cope with it. It is a distasteful part of our world. He will be strong for it, and learn that there is right and wrong and good and bad, and where he stands in relation to that. Continue to guide and cherish him. He will love you for it. And be glad that he has the courage to speak out against it, and to be brave enough to talk with you about it.

    Biphobia

If I am honest I really don't understand the Bi world. I can only reference that looking from my own point of view, not trying to stand in your shoes so to speak. I mean attraction is a complicated thing, and I guess that it is possible to accept that it can come in any shape, size and guise, even I have felt attracted to a woman in my past. So does that make me Bi? God I don't have a clue. For me sexuality and the idea of attraction is to complex to try to fit into a label. If I had my way, we'd all be sexual beings, be it sex with this or that, it is irrelevant. But that would be an ideal world, and humans are incapable of keeping it simple stupid! So the complexity of Bisexuality will continue to confuse those of us that just want things to be what they are and for people to be allowed to be who and what they are without having to justify it to the likes of me in a word that is only going to confuse me more. Haha Who you sleep with? Not my worry. That you are happy. The one thing that SHOULD be important to every one of us that considers ourselves a friend and fellow human.

    Touched

Ever stopped to wonder why some people leave an indelible mark on our lives? It is something that I ponder often. Take for example JFK. 50 years ago this week, a president that has in so many ways touched all of our lives, be us from a generation that were there at the time, or children of today's generation, he is a man that stood out in our world as a special man. Was he perfect? Far from it. In fact, if you listen to the in depth analysis of his life as a man, he was pretty much a bit of a bastard really, but he loved his country and wanted the best for people. For that I think he won all of our respect. That is not something that can be said for many men that serve in the highest office of their nation. It is easy for me to sit here and type, casting stones at people whom I despise, rulers that I take issue with, and politicians that I think have fallen way short of the mark, but then does that make them any better or worse than JFK? So why did he leave such a mark on us? Was it that he was snatched from us in such a cruel and unexpected way? Possibly! I mean, take for example one of the people from GA that to this day still permeates my thoughts and feelings daily. Karl or Roan to many of us, was one young man from GA that made a remarkable impact on me in the very few weeks that I came to know him. I miss him terribly, even now, but why? I mean I never met the boy, nor was more than someone whom talked to him on skype every now and then. Was it that nature stole Karl from this world prematurely, before I had a chance to say many of the things I thought or felt to him? Probably, yes. But I also think it is so much more than that. So if tragedy plays a part in it, how is it then that some will effect our lives from right next to us, in situations where tragedy is never part or parcel of our passing in time? Take for example a boy whom I learnt to love from the shadows. We were at school together, in a time where I was far too naive to dream of admitting my crush, and far to afraid to ever try do anything to test the waters. I still see his beauty in my dreams, here his voice in wide open spaces when I am alone, and can daydream about him for hours still. Yet the truth be told, I have not see or even heard of him for well over 20 years. He was someone I saw more than knew, yet he impacted my life far beyond the time and place where seeing him every day was the norm. Personally I think it has to do with so much more than circumstances of how we meet or do not meet. I think it is more than how they touch our lives or come or go. I even feel it is more even than the things they teach us or awaken in us. No, for me I feel it is about the way a person resonates with our inner soul for lack of a better word to use. I truly believe that each of us has a part of our character, the person that we are, that clicks with some. They just fill the gaps in our lives, like a jigsaw in a way, filling out the big picture, each piece an important part with a life all of its own. Without it, we are not whole, and with it, even if it was there for but a moment, we have filled that part of the puzzle and can go on. As a hand is made for a glove, people who are there for a reason in our lives, be it brief or be it for an extended period, they are the people that make us who we are. So despite that I will never get to meet someone like JFK, or speak again with our precious colt, or ever know what happened to Michael from school, my life is richer for having known of them, and been inspired by things they said, stuff the did, and ways in which the touched my life. It is good to remember them, honour them, and cherish their place in our lives. In as much as we say every year that we will never forget those who died in our stead in war, I can honestly say, there are those too that I will never forget who have meant something to me in my life. Thought for today - "A test of a people is how it behaves towards the old. It is easy to love children. Even tyrants and dictators make a point of being fond of children. But the affection and care for the old, the incurable, the helpless are the true gold mines of a culture." - Abraham Joshua Herschel Song for today - Everybody's Changing

    Chapter 37

This takes on a very 24 esque format. Totally amazing the amount of detail that's gone into this. WOW. Really enjoying it so far James.

    Chapter 9

Call me a pessimist but 60 days is a bloody long time. I am sceptical i'd believe it to be over.
