  2. Yettie One

    Chapter 1

Whoa! That sounds scary as hell!
  3. When I first posted here, it was stuff that I had just sat down and written and then read through, without making too much change to the original content. It was my intention to post what I wrote initially, and then use that as a basis and get it edited and polished into something good, then use that to go back and have a look at the main differences and see where I went wrong. I've so far only managed to do this with one of the stories that I've written, being Breathless, and I am yet to post the editied version of the story. I should really get it done and see what the feedback is based across the two very different transcripts of the story. But I don't think that the way we write is wrong. It is who we are as a writer, and shapes what our readers come to expect when they choose to follow a writer.

    Peace

All the detail included in this story makes me think you must have some military experience in there somewhere James. Wow I couldn't stop reading. Really great intensity and a captivating plot line. Really well worked out. Glad I read it.

A cabin full of bloody smart kids. haha Who would have thought that one was coming when they started reading.

Tech detail is exquisite and flows without getting to involved and confusing. I salute you for that. I guess I'd figured the boys were a little older than they have turned out to be, but that could make it interesting as things pan out. Just hope they can all keep it together as things get difficult.
  7. Argh, I tried to make a comment, but it didn't save for some reason! Well, as I was saying, sounds like just my kinda story you've written here James. I've often wondered how WW3 might unfold and what we could do to survive. I am really looking forward to seeing what you do with this one. x
  8. I've come the firm conclusion that it might be a really wonderful way to roast a turkey, but the hangover the day after is gunna suck big time. Maybe not the greatest plan in the world ey???
  9. Yoda??? No no hun, YETTIE!
  10. Thanks all. You rock out!
  11. Ok, so its holiday season coming up, and of course for all our American friends, they'll be doing the traditional turkey in a week or so, and for the rest of us, come christmas, we'll be catching up with our own celebration of bird flesh. So figured I'd share my recipe for a smashing Turkey Roast. HOW TO COOK A TURKEY. Step 1. Buy a turkey. Step 2. Have a glass of wine. Step 3. Stuff turkey. Step 4. Have a glass of wine. Step 5. Put turkey in the oven. Step 6. Relax and have another glass of wine. Step 7. Turk the bastey. Step 8. Wine of glass another get. Step 9. Hunt for meat thermometer. Step 10. Glass yourself another pour of wine. Step 11. Bake the wine for 4 hours. Step 12. Take the oven out of the turkey. Step 13. Tet the sable Step 14. Brab another wottle of bine. Step 15. Turk the carvey! Enjoy!!!
  12. Hey Zombie..... Glad there has not been an annihilation in my absence.
  13. Whoa. How long has it been since I have sat down to tap on the keyboard to write a blog??? Too damn long if I am honest. So, yeah, I kind of fell off the face of the planet for a while. Actually still not totally in control of things for that matter, but as they go, there is not an awful lot of difference I can make to anything, other than keep the old chin (actually all three of them haha) up and plod on. Medically I was dealt a blow a number of months back. Never a good thing to hear that you are mortal, after all, us hairy Yettie's assume that life is forever, and don't consider that there is a finite limit to our time here. So yeah, it totally blew me for a six to be told that I was going to be dealing with some stuff that I'd hoped I'd never actually have to face. Stupidity really, we all face something along the way right? So that was the first issue that kind of initially took me off the radar. I needed some time and space to process what was happening to me, and learn to deal with it. In the midst of that, I got news that I'd won a grant that I'd applied for to get a part of my tiny little business off the ground a bit more. OMG. That was a shock as well, more so because I'd planned everything out when I had loads of time on my hands, and no treatment regime to deal with. Thing is, to say no now, would have seriously impacted on my ability as a business, and my reputation with the Arts Council who awarded the grant. So to hell with it right. Dive in the deepend and learn to swim. I am not quite sure I've learnt to swim yet, more of an ugly doggy paddle, but for what it is worth, I am glad I did it, as I've suddenly gone from being a tiny little no one in the industry to a recognised name in my area now. Three employee's on board and growing, and some really interesting ups and downs with artists, pre Madonna's and diva's galore. So much had to be learnt, and I found myself with my nose in books about the music industry, talking about stuff I'd never considered possible. Quite a bit different to reading on GA. God, anyone ever said they miss this place? Ya know, not sure that it is the stories that I missed. I haven't really had time to think about them too much, but there are people from GA that I feel really lonely without! The motherly warmth of those that brood over us and see that we are ok and doing what we should. The banter from the cheeky sods that love to tease and chortle. The serious conversations with dedicated writers about plots and characters and all that. Argh. Yeah, truth be told, I wish I had 48 hours in every day so I could spend 24 doing what I have to do, 12 doing GA stuff, and maybe 12 sleeping. That would be a good deal. Anyone know God's number so I can call him and lobby for a change in the length of a day??? Thankfully, I have kept in touch via facebook with a few of you. I'm greatful for that contact and friendship. There are a few I also get to chat to on Skype that is always good for a laugh, but I don't get to go on skype all that much anymore! On other fronts, mom is ok. Although the Alzheimer's has progressed along, and there are days I have to deal with being just about anyone, generally she is in good spirits. She gets very confused about what I do for work. The idea that I can manage someone that creates music is just a step to far for her to comprehend. Conversations can be a challenge, as she struggles to get words out and memory is obviously a problem. I have found she has become very quite of late, and think that is more out of pure frustration she feels at not being able to communicate as she'd like. Winter is upon us in the UK. They say we are due for snow soon. Not sure I like the sound of that! Argh. Gunna be a bad winter the forecasters say. Although having said that, a few weeks ago we were supposed to get the storm of the year, and not a bloody thing happened. Not sure how you get it that wrong! I discovered spiced apple sausages in the butchers down the road today. OMG, we had them for dinner and damn they are good. I can strongly recommend them if you can get your hands on them. Oooooooft. So, yeah. Bit of an update. Probably not all the info that's happened since I was last on, but still, hope it gives you some light on what I've been up to. Be nice to hear from those of you that can spare a mo or two. Hugs to everyone that wants a hug. And for those that don't I can offer a handshake. Take care and talk soon I hope. 14. Soooooooo, drinks at 4 am. Now having worked in the entertainments world, how many times have I done this????? Still it is only drinks. Warming up to Bay, he is really actually quite an endearing character, well done with the way you've built him up and gently wooed us into liking him. Isaac seems ok, but is he just out for a bit of fun or more? Can't read him just yet. Love the way its flowing right now.... So where is the hic up? haha. I am jumping to conclusions. But there must be a catch somewhere to spice it all up.
  15. Oh the joys of first kisses. I bet you can vividly remember yours! Hmmmmmmm, suddenly not sure I can remember which one was the first one for me! I can remember the one that counted! Yes these flash backs are pretty cool, and my earlier fears were unfounded. Well mastered Sasha. Really enjoying your writing style.
  16. Hahahaha Blunderbus. Poor boy got all tongue tied! Awwwwww. Cute. Ok, so Zupan is just full of angst then, and Zoltan does not have the gaydar I thought he had if he ain't spotted that Isaac is probably gay! Haha. So we have a gay bar managerish guy and a cheft. Not your normal typical gay stereotypes. So maybe that is a good start for a not so typical gay relationship. They'll be chasing each other along the beach!
  17. Ok, so at the tender age of realisation, his first crush scared the bejesuz out of him!!!!!!! Now wonder the poor guy is repressed. Yeah I am beginning to enjoy the flash backs. You pull them off really well, and don't overload them in a detracting way. Another cool chapter Sasha.
  18. Hmmmmmmmm Not sure what to make of Bay right now. Maybe he is repressed Zupan seems like a wind up merchant, but then I think that those guys have learned to over come so much in life, that they are kind of blunt and to the point. The nature fits the character almost perfectly. Be interesting to see where he goes as a character though. Bay deffo needs to work some shit out. Plot line is a little unclear right now, but that is not all bad. The chapters are short enough to carry that, and I suspect that something is building below the surface somewhere, just not sure I've seen where yet.
  19. Ok I am sorry, but that chapter made me chuckle. I love how you caught that age old trick of jumping to conclusions. The barmaids comment totally cracked me up, and Zoltan just rubbed salt in the wound. But that is the thing. We just don't get each other, even one gay man to another. LOL. We all make assumption about everyone, and get our noses all bent out of shape when we got it wrong. It makes me laugh, and you captured that split moment of reality really well for me as a reader. Well done.
  20. Good flick back again Sasha. Short, sharp and painful. Love that line about a bike being so important to an 8 year old. OMG I remember how essential my bike was to me back in those days. Jo is right, kids are resilient, but friendships like those never really die. They fade, they pass into oblivion, but we carry those memories for a life time. Every single one of us can remember that first friend we lost, and how much it pained to loose em. Nice work.
  21. Hmmmmmmmm, I am not so sure that I understood Dale's warning, was he implying he should not misrepresent himself or be cautious about who he admits he is gay too? Interesting. You flesh out Bay's predicament really well in this chapter, and personally I am not surprised he finds himself back in the closet. I am not sure how many times I have stepped in and out of that damn closet in moves, job changes and the like. Pretty maddening really, but also a matter of survival till you know what is cool and what is not.

    Worth It

Heya Andy. Exactly, I am guilty of that myself. It is much easier to dust it under the carpet and pretend it does not happen. But the horror of life is vividly real and out there every moment of every day for so many pour souls. It scares me to think about it. Scares me to think that someone would be so beaten and lost that they'd crave the pain just to feel alive, accept the fault as their own, and break themselves even more to try be better. That is a hard pill to swallow. Thanks for reading buddy, and appreciate you taking the time to comment.

    Worth It

Thanks for the compliment Renee. I was lying listening to music one night, and the song came on, and as I really listened to the words of the tune, the story just came tumbling out of me. I felt so drained when I finished. It was an emotional experience, and really made me think about things from a different perspective. I'd always been pretty aloof about people that suffer long term abuse, kind of thinking if they didn't have the balls to walk away from it, then they made their bed and had to lie in it. But actually putting myself in their shoes, and trying to see it through his eyes, was haunting and really left me wondering why I was so judgemental. Thanks for reading and commenting.
  24. He has done some other stuff as well, I think there is a single called Say Something and 11:11 which is a few years old now. He's another commercially viable teenage pretty boy that will have a million 10 year old girls screaming like rookies at a riot, and buying every song he sings about how beautiful they are. Madness, but that is pop culture and boy wonders for you. It is nothing new. You just got to look back at the likes of Jackson 5, Donny Osmond, Bobby Vee and Ricky Nelson. Whoever choreographed the dance routine in that video should be shot! A lot of wobbly knees makes him look more like he has rubber legs, or is very inebriated and not got a lot of talent. Bieber could sing once upon a time. His voice is gone now. I hear he is off to Ibiza for the summer, where he plans to take up DJing! Oh dear.....that could be painful. Gangster urban ghetto does not fit well with the EDM scene me finks.
  25. Heya Sly Many Many happy snuggles to ya big fluffy care bear. Love ya support and fun. Have a wonderful day buddy. Huggles. Rob xxx
