My maternal great-grandfather, Clayton (Grant) Lawrence, was career US Navy, served from 1936 to 1966. He retired as commander and worked for the Pentagon in Naval Security Group Command. He was stationed at Pearl Harbor between from 1944 to 1945 and worked with FRUPAC (Fleet Radio Unit Pacific). From http://maritime.org/tech/ecm2.htm: He spoke seven languages fluently and was one of the founding members of the US Naval Cryptologic Veterans Association (USNCVA). My grandmother (his daughter) and grandfather (daughter's husband) were both in the Navy and when I joined the US Army my grandpa kicked me out of his house for disgracing the family. Oops I am thankful everyday for his and everyone who has served for our country.

Cute story. As for the responses, wow. Some of you take the internet way too seriously.

I've called in to work or been late a few times due to a story.

You might have to weed through a lot of stories, but I don't imagine all of them are about sex. I've read multiple stories in other categories and have come across some great stories that have little to no sex involved (not lesbian stories though as I haven't ventured into that category). Not sure if the link is against site rules to post it as it seems to be a competing website... http://www.literotica.com/top/Lesbian-Sex-11

You need a shopping day and to turn off your damn phone.

Another recommendation to buy cases of MREs. I have three in my basement along with a bunch of non-perishable food that I keep in constant rotation.

When a disaster strikes, if you are uninjured your biggest problems are going to be civil unrest and a lack of clean drinking water. Food and shelter obviously come in a close third and fourth. Ideal situation is to get out of the city as they are going to be hotspots for a long time. I live with a crazy person (aka boyfriend), my house is stocked with a ridiculous amount of supplies. I even have a gas mask in my desk at work and in my car, along with my bug-out-bags. We even have a planned meet spot if I was to get stuck at work when a disaster hit and I know all the back ways (greenbelts) to get home if I have to walk the 19 or so miles. I always carry comfy shoes, coat and gloves, blankets, MRE, flashlight, water, etc in my car. My boyfriend works in the environmental industry, he sells and services all types of instruments for gas monitoring and hazard situations. He has full hazmat suits and fire suits in the basement along with respirators and re-breathers. Pretty sure I could survive a while with the items in my house and our combined knowledge. (My knowledge= 54B, chemical ops, I did this crap daily when I was USAR)

Liquid laundry detergent. Scrub the stain with it and let it sit for twenty four hours. Wash the shirt. Should help, depending on what type of stain it is.

Linguine alla Puttanesca (Whore Pasta) Makes 8 servings 1 cup olive oil 6 garlic cloves, minced 8 roma tomatoes, minced 8 anchovy filets 8 oz tomato paste 14 oz green olives w/pimento, minced 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes 1. Heat oil in medium saucepan. Add minced garlic to hot oil and cook until golden. Add minced tomatoes to olive oil and cook for five minutes. Add anchovy filets, tomato paste, green olives, and crushed red pepper flakes and cook for ten minutes. 2. While the tomatoes are cooking in the olive oil, start a large pan of water for boil of the linguine. Recipe adapted from allrecipes.com. Original recipe asks for capers, I don't care for capers so I didn't add them. You can also make this using canned diced tomatoes or whatever tomatoes you happen to have handy. I mince everything using my food processor, makes the job easy and lessens the chance I will cut myself (which happens almost every time I use a knife). Also, you can use any pasta you wish to use, I prefer linguine so that is what I generally have on hand.

Same here. I also like to sing and dance, although I tend to do them alone so I'm not laughed at.

Three more really good ones from my recipe book. I used to love to bake, back when I could still eat dairy. Recipes were taken from magazines or online, I will credit if I have the original source. The mac & cheese recipe is by far one of my favorite dishes. Frosted Pumpkin Cake 2 1/4 cups flour 2 1/2 tsp baking powder 2 tsp ground cinnamon 1/4 tsp salt 1 cup packed brown sugar 1/4 cup butter, softened 1 tsp vanilla extract 2 large eggs 1 15oz can pumpkin puree cooking spray 1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt with whisk in a small bowl. 2. Combine brown sugar, butter, and vanilla; beat until well mixed. Add eggs one at a time, beat well. Add pumpkin mix and fold well. 3. Combine wet mixture (step 2) to dry mixture (step 1) and fold well. 4. Spray 9"x13" pan with cooking spray and place mixture evenly. Bake for 25 minutes (or until toothpick in middle is clean) and cool on wire rack. Pumpkin Cake Frosting 2 tsp butter 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 1 8oz package cream cheese (I use reduced fat, tastes just fine) 2 cups sifted powdered sugar 1. Combine butter, vanilla, and cream cheese and beat with mixer. Gradually add powdered sugar, beating until well combined. 2. Spread evenly on cooked cake. --------------------------------------------------------- Pebber Nodder Cookies Yields about 30 cookies 1 cup butter 2 eggs 2 tsp cardamom 2 tsp cinnamon 1 cup sugar 2 1/2 cups flour 1. Preheat oven to 350°F. 2. In large bowl, mix together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, stirring until light and fluffy. Combine the flour, cardamom and cinnamon; stir into the sugar mixture just until blended. 3. Roll into one-inch balls and bake for 10 minutes until lightly brown. Adapted from allrecipes.com. ------------------------------------------------ Jalapeno Popper Mac & Cheese Serves 4-6 1 lb pasta 4 jalapenos, diced 1 cup milk 4 oz cream cheese, softened and cubed 2/3 cup panko bread crumbs 2 tsp olive oil 2 tbsp butter 2 tbsp flour 2 cups pepperjack cheese (cubed or shredded) 1/4 tsp seasoned salt kosher salt 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Cook pasta for 6- 7 minutes or until tender but still has a bite to it. Drain. 3. Melt the butter in the same pot that you cooked the pasta in. Stir in jalapenos and cook just until softened, about 2 minutes. Whisk in flour. Cook 1 minute. Pour in milk. Stir in pepper jack and cream cheese. Cook until melted. Stir in 1/4 teaspoon of seasoning salt. Stir in pasta. Adjust with more seasoning salt if needed. Pour macaroni and cheese into a casserole dish. Sprinkle with panko bread crumbs. Drizzle olive oil over the top. Bake for 15 minutes or until pasta is bubbly. Personally, I don't use seasoned salt even though the recipe asks for it. I also don't drizzle olive oil over the top of the bread crumbs, I just let them brown naturally in the oven. 28 here and while I only own a few albums on vinyl, I spent my childhood surrounded by my mother's music collection from the 60-80s all on vinyl. In fact, I think I may buy her a new record player for Christmas...
