Late to the game reading this chapter. Enjoying the story a lot. One question about writing conventions — why do authors have foreign characters refer to themselves in the third person? Surely Slav knows I and me and possessives. I have travelled a fair bit and never encountered this in conversations, or at least not after the first few minutes. Is this a linguistics thing that I am missing? -
Ok this thing with Pitt — you now have entered into territory for us, your readers, best described in that quaint term “edging” lmao. The tropical clime is not all that is hot! Great chapter.

So, if I read correctly, only one bedroom? Hmmm, I am not sure, but is there a hint of foreshadowing there? I can see one night of spontaneous, mutual, fulfilling love among the three young men. At least I hope so, for all of their sake.

As I read this the image that comes to mind is Nick sailing between Scylla and Charybdis -- though I am not yet sure if he is blithely unaware of the dangers or if he is a well-built barque able to navigate the forces swirling around and pulling at him. Loving this!

Magnificent, painful honestly from Keith. So often we understandably get so tied up in our search for authenticity, to be honest with ourselves and others, we are unaware, ignore, or do not care about the impact it has on others. I am not saying remain closeted or in unhappy relationships, but the struggles we go through — the others in our lives are struggling as well. I know I am advocating the almost impossible for most of us as coming out is and must be a “self” centered experience and this chapter brings the impact into stark relief.
