It’s funny — as I read this story I keep thinking, “Glad it’s not me.” 😆
-
This is tough. The ways I see it, they have three options. 1. They switch off being submissive from time to time. I don’t if that’s a common thing, swapping “sides,” tho. And I’m not sure TC is up for it. 2. They agree to pursue romantic relationships with others, and go through the time and hurt of transitioning from “in love” with each other to “loving” each other. I might have to wait until the story is finished and get all my crying done in one long agonized read, lol. 3. They bring in a sub and form a throuple. Not sure either would be down for that.

I like that this story is about grown folks (men over 35). Looking forward to how these two work it out.

“Of course, child. The moon may show us a path, but we have every right to walk our own. The choice is yours. The scent may urge you to choose, but you can say no. If your mate is unsuitable, you have time to wait for another. She only shows you one at any given time, but no one is cursed to the possibility of only one choice in life.” I appreciate this aspect of the story — usually, mates have no choice — but man, I hate it for Jimmy. And the end of the chapter answers my question about why he hasn’t struck up a conversation when Sawyer’s been out for dinner or on a run.

Dr. Charlotte + David = Kismet

*smirks and rolls eyes at Fergus* Whatever it takes to look at yourself in the mirror, eh? Fergus is gonna be PISSED when he finds out the Creole he wants so badly has a mate. A MALE mate. (So he really does intend to make Jimmy one of the pack — I thought he was stringing him along.)

Ah, it’s nice that Wenn is at peace. If he was a single parent, I wonder if Tinn’il will go with the unicorns? He chose Chasen, after all ...

I know the frustration of wanting someone, and wanting them to BE a way that they are not. However, TC should know better. He allowed his anger and frustration to get the better of him, and he did a disservice to his (bedroom only) sub. This is an interesting take on BDSM. The few stories I’ve read were mainly about searching for someone who shared the same interest, or coming to terms with what you truly desire. But mixing BDSM struggles in with exes and kids and daily life? What a challenge! Good luck. You’re doing well so far.

Thanks for continuing the story! I agree with the previous posters — Gemini will need his powers. Without realizing it, Stratos is doing his best to get the kelari killed. Lord save us all from oblivious men.

As I read I can’t help but compare myself to David. No way could I do Europe like this! I’m too introverted to keep introducing myself to someone new every few days. I’d need a home base AirBNB and would strike out on day trips. Even reading about David’s method makes me anxious, LOL. I was glad he respected TC enough to tell him he’s ok. The silent treatment is a thoughtless and cowardly way to treat someone you care about.

Yaaaaay!!! Glad to see this story is back. I’ve been wondering what you’re going to do with the characters. Now I get to find out!

Great chapter. So much power in such a small package. I hope Wenn’s son can bring him back to life.

Chapter 14 - Starting Over
Geemeedee commented on Mrsgnomie's story chapter in Chapter 14 - Starting Over
I came back to say that the characters are true to the way they’ve behaved the rest of the story. I’ve kinda lost interest, but that’s not the fault of the author. It’s personal preference. -
Chapter 14 - Starting Over

This must be for plot purposes, because I can’t believe people are really this ... dense? Self-absorbed? Communicationally challenged? Penn and Nash did not have a healthy romantic situation to begin with. Thailand was all about stroking each other’s egos — I like you. Yeah? Since when? How much? Tell me more. Make me feel important and wanted. Penn was damn near a stalker. They talked about everything BUT WHAT WAS MOST IMPORTANT. The best thing to happen was Nash moving away. It freed Penn to recover and eventually find someone new. I still hold out hope that’ll happen. 84Mags said emotionally it’s like Penn is still in high school. So is Nash, really. Also? Lee needed his ass kicked. The gall. The nerve. Screw the double birds — try to break his nose with one good punch.- 101 comments

He’s giving back a bit of the control she lost over him. A concession. He doesn’t have to tell her a damn thing going forward.

Five bucks says when Lee finds out about Nash and Penn, he’ll accuse NASH of cheating!! -
Chapter 12 - Confessions
Geemeedee commented on Mrsgnomie's story chapter in Chapter 12 - Confessions
This is one of those FINALLY chapters where the reader (and the characters) finally know what’s going on and where they stand. And this chapter is mighty satisfying, but as others have mentioned, mighty sad as well. Nash’s complete tunnel vision for Lee kept him from something great with Penn. Penn’s inaction cost him years of misery. I keep thinking about how Penn repeatedly left Lincoln for work. He was really avoiding the pain of seeing Nash thriving and devoted to another man. It’s so ... “Wuthering Heights,” “Great Gatsby” without the tragedy, abuse and dark drama. I don’t think Lee will cause much trouble. It’s obviously time for him to try his luck — career-wise and romantically — elsewhere. His boss probably has plenty of contacts and will give a solid recommendation. Nash sounded like the poster child for D.A.R.E and “Just Say No” when we found out he’d never been to a dance club. Good lord, what a sheltered existence (most of it self-inflicted, by the sound of it). He’s not afraid of dodgy street eats in foreign lands but recoils at the thought of a dance club. Fascinating.- 40 comments

Is Katherine not really Katherine (thinking about the Desmond stories) or has Katherine always been ... not right? (Maroon eyes is NOT RIGHT.) Now wondering if Leon has an ability, or if you were just talking about Stratos’ ability. I hope you can start posting more often, Katya!

Chapter 11 - Where Penn Arrives
Geemeedee commented on Mrsgnomie's story chapter in Chapter 11 - Where Penn Arrives
I don’t think Penn didn’t like Nash. I think Nash made him uncomfortable — he was probably unsettled by the attraction.- 47 comments

Chapter 11 - Where Penn Arrives
Geemeedee commented on Mrsgnomie's story chapter in Chapter 11 - Where Penn Arrives
Excellent points. The fact that Nash has gone this long without knowing what’s up with Cam is impressive. I would’ve exploded by now. But these guys are so adorable this chapter. What a great trip. Finally, Chapter 12 is next! The one we’ve been waiting for. After the holiday, I assume. I’ll just re-read the last couple chapters in anticipation... Oh, yeah — who’s Seth?!- 47 comments

Chapter 10 - Falling into place
Geemeedee commented on Mrsgnomie's story chapter in Chapter 10 - Falling into place
I think it’s cool that Nash can just take up teaching English in Thailand. That’s so brave! Bummed that Penn didn’t tell Nash what’s going on. Yeah, yeah — whatever Cam said. He could’ve told Nash, then sworn him to silence. What are we doing here, you know??? The conversation with Lee was fantastic. All that stuff needed to be said. FORCED to get back with Nash? What a gut punch. Asshole. They both should leave Lincoln (going in different directions, of course) and start fresh elsewhere.- 33 comments

Chapter 9 - Taking a step back
Geemeedee commented on Mrsgnomie's story chapter in Chapter 9 - Taking a step back
I have a couple problems with this chapter. The first is, why have Tracy be home if she doesn’t get to respond to the divorce news? We know she came and sat at the table and that’s it. It’s a waste of a character. Second, Penn was waiting for Nash after his time with Lee, but earlier we were told Wednesday was the one night of the week they *didn’t* get together, because Nash would be wiped out from dealing with Lee. Looking forward to where you take this. I expected Penn to go to Thailand with Nash, but I guess that’s not gonna happen. But if Penn knows so much about Nash’s marriage, why doesn’t Nash know about Penn’s? The friendship is one-sided in that regard.- 46 comments
