I don’t think it’s OCD. Nex wants everything at 100% because she has to face her most formidable foe ever and she assumes (probably correctly) that she’ll need everything she’s got to capture/destroy Doriel. We know someone else who was capable of breaking the three locks! Wonder if she and her little family will make an appearance? Could Doriel want Julian dead because he’s Doriel’s neglectful father? It’s a cop-out, but Daddy and mommy issues drive people to do irrational things. I hope Raven can defend Julian until the calvary arrives ... Katya, I’m relieved every time you post another chapter. That lets us know you’re ok. Stay safe, all!

Man, am I glad Sandra fessed up, I was worried she was gonna leave Troy hanging. Soooooo we’re not gonna talk about the naughty email Grant sent? 😆 It’s a different kind of progress, but progress nonetheless.

Great chapter! I enjoyed Troy’s interactions with William and Sandra, plus his gentle admonition when Grant tried to protect Troy from his mother. Question: William and Troy decided that Troy would do research on the latest irrigation systems, then work up a quote for the work. But after dinner Sandra already had estimates. How did that happen so quickly? Did William tell her about the project after the walk and she did quick research while Troy and Grant had dinner?

I was waiting for them to pass a TV and see an interview underway with President Vivienne. I like Raven much more.

Me: “Are Raven, Des, Rayhe and Claudia all in the same time zone?” Also Me: “Stop thinking about it. You’ll give yourself a headache.” Me: “Des loves Sam like a little brother. Sam was brutalized by Julian. A part of Des likes Julian. Does he feel guilty for helping Julian live?” Then Me: “Ah, but if Julian never dies, Sam never celebrates and never knows Des helped save him.” Aaaaand Me: “You’re doing it again. Stop it.”

Time travel stuff hurts my head. I’m just glad the gang is back together again!! Inquiring minds (ok, maybe just my mind) want to know: did Des let his hair grow back out? How much time has passed since their last adventure?

I’m so thrilled you’ve returned to this series! I happily give my life back to you for the length of this story. :0) I was shocked and sad to see Julian gone. He’s a monster, but he was Raven’s monster. A beautiful, charismatic monster. I liked them together. I liked the four of them — Julian, Raven, Rayhe and Des — together. Man, I hope he’s not dead for good. THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU!!!

OMG, what a brilliant idea! A perfect solution. I’m bummed Grant didn’t think of it. Reading this story is enjoyable, but also frustrating. Grant needs to come clean before too much time passes! I’m in the camp of, tell the truth now, A) because you look like a shit for keeping the secret for so long, and B ) If it’s gonna end, at least you’re not more emotionally invested.

I’m in the minority, but I was uncomfortable when Grant paid for the mother’s groceries. To me, it’s like he feels good about himself when he does such things. Kinda like he gets off on it, but not in a sexual way, per se. I felt the same when he did things to help Troy.

I figured it was the vampire wanting her diamonds back. If the Being has just said so, he could’ve handed over the pouch and told it where to find the rest. BUT since it called him the useless one, its master is probably something else.

Wow, Grant oversteps big-time without thinking it through. Brian is gonna think Troy got his house back! I honestly don’t see how Troy will be able to get past all that Grant has done. Doesn’t matter it was all for his good; the dude should have told him the truth from the start. I’m anxious every time I read this story. Guess that means I’m invested in the characters, LOL.
