Shane and Donovan together were sweet. I felt that if they were willing to put up with each other’s shit, go for it. But this part before I didn’t understand: “Having previously talked to Aaron, or someone else that was there the night I dumped Shane, Nick also reiterated that they’d collectively shut down Davis and the rest of the conversation was banter that had nothing to do with me. And he explained how I’d overreacted and dumped Shane because I was looking for an out, as always.” Wha? There was no shutting down Davis when Shane heard what he heard. He had every right to respond the way he did to what he heard. It was not an overreaction. That was bullshit. On that point, fuck DAKS, man.

My immediate thought: will Milan jerk away because GERMS?! I hope not. Besides, Rory is the healthiest guy he’ll ever meet. Better not let the parents find out, tho. Fingers crossed another leaf falls off the bracelet.

Shane told strangers in a club that Donovan was trans and had a STD. That was not romantic. It was slander. I’m just shaking my head at this chapter. EDITED TO ADD: I know this is supposed to be light-hearted, and it IS written well, but there’s a dark underbelly of cruelty that I can’t laugh off. Maybe it’s the cultural moment we’re in. Maybe I’m too old.

Great chapter! Curious about who the sick (rogue) wolf is. Hope he doesn’t take a bite out of Milan. I find Chris’s spouting of Lechter’s human-hate rhetoric telling. I wonder if Lechter is quietly turning Connor’s pack against him. Mirrors current society in ways. And it seems to be a recent thing — Chris was flirting with Ilaria like crazy in the first chapter. She had Connor laughing. Not gonna lie — I’m hoping the two of them end up together. Whatever Milan’s dad is doing, it can’t be good. Family loyalty is a tricky topic. My family by blood is the opposite of Rory’s. It’s small, and I don’t have much contact with them. I’m pretty much on my own. I guess my question would be, how would I have to display that loyalty? What would it require me to do? Now, if we’re talking about the family I’ve built for myself, I’m hella loyal, no matter what happens. You hurt them, you hurt me.

Actually, I was going to ask. i looked up blue German Shepherds. What a gorgeous breed! I also had to look up “spiky undercut.” What a sexy haircut! History and Drama scholars = future History and Drama teachers? Compatible. And Avi is a seriously beta-leaning omega and Lex appears to be a beta-leaning alpha, so Avi will be fine. However, I do wonder how far he can be pushed by conmands from other alphas. Like, even when mated, could other alphas make him do yucky stuff against his will, like stay still during a sexual assault? Or are (most) alphas raised to respect their power and not use it for evil?

Yep, that’s what I’m thinking, too. Because you know Donovan hates the damn thing now. Shane probably bought a new one with a zipper up the back, or lots of belts and buttons. Something that makes it hard to dance or requires help to go pee.

Donovan doesn’t realize the damage he’s done. If they don’t work out, will Shane take the chance of trying a relationship again? I doubt it.

I’m assuming the guy was ass when they met and wants to be nicer to Avion before allowing himself to be seen? BUT it was an asshole move to order him the way he did. God, no wonder Avion was terrified. To be at the whim of others because they can take away your free will sounds like a nightmare. Just thinking of ways than an Omega’s nature can be used against them goes to a dark place fast. i hope you describe Avion in the next chapter. His hair is white in his human form too, right? And he’s a short guy?

I predict Shane will make Donovan wear his plainest jeans and no hair or skin products. THE HORROR. EDITED TO ADD: He shouldn’t allow any alcohol, either.

1) No apologies from DAK? No convo about how shitty they’ve been to Shane? My “fuck them” still holds. 2) Donovan is cruel. The fact that he doesn’t realize it is irritating. But it’s par for the course from his character. 3) I never thought I’d feel sorry for Shane, but I do.

An aspect I appreciate: Kutler said Matt’s mate could be a he or a she. It’s cool that they apparently don’t think in terms of gay or straight when it comes to mates.

Doesn’t seem to be as much respect given to mates in this story. Unless Lara was Chris’s mate, and he did something horrible to make her leave him. Maybe he thinks if he can survive it, so can Rory. EDITED TO ADD: Went back to chapter 2. I was wrong about the story’s take on mates. If Lara was Chris’s mate, he’d be under anasthesia, Connor said. So Chris is just being an asshole. Understandably so, but still an asshole. I wonder if he’ll challenge Rory for alpha?

Oh, and WHY DID ALLÉ INSTIGATE A THREE-WAY IF HE WANTED DONOVAN AND SHANE TO RECONCILE? Don’t make no kinda sense.

Two people, emotionally immature in their own specific ways. Maybe they can start to mature together, for each other? I’m thinking they aren’t fit for any others at this point. (Donovan confides in kids and elderly men. Stunted much?) Also, fuck DAK, especially Drew. Cowards.

Where’s everybody else going? They may not be part of the core crew, but they didn’t do anything wrong.
