I think I squealed with surprise and glee when I saw that the guys ended up at Lake Norman. I lived in Charlotte for several years and knew about the swim club. The only thing that would’ve made the story better for me was to know how the the other three supported themselves. What are their jobs? But I know the focus of the story is Marcus. Glad to see you’re still writing, Sasha. Thanks for the story.

I felt stoopid for NOT seeing the Kels + Co thing coming. What the eff is Shane’s mom doing married to such a buffoon? I’m not seeing any reason Donovan should give Shane and his friends yet another chance. The shit they did cut to the bone. Why do the minorities — non-white, non-hetero, non-gender conforming, non- whatever-is-not-deemed-mainstream-or-normal — have to be the ones who are the bigger people and forgive being shat upon in a myriad of ways? I’m tired of it. Ain’t you?

Rowen hit a boy when he said no to her? Immature much? Not a fan.

Uh, more explanation about the synthgar next chapter, please. It’s always attached, like a leech? *shudder* What’s its purpose? At first I thought the synthgar was a pet and companion for Kohen to take care of, like a puppy. Maybe that wouldn’t be such a bad idea? If Freska’s really there when they get back, I’ll be hella shocked.

Not only did I not expect that devolution from Shane, but Drew and the others didn’t speak up, either! So painful. I don’t see how any of them could be friends again, or how Shane and Donovan could be in a relationship again. Those comments cut deep. You don’t forget shit like that. The DAKS and DONNAS were fun while they lasted.

I look forward to seeing how you guys wrap everything up. Sorry to see the story end. In case you do another edit: Brady was wearing shorts and a singlet at the end of the last chapter and jeans and a button-down in this one.

“Internally, I rolled my eyes. There was no way big Shane suffered any kind of sexual trauma.” Welp, that’s the problem right there. It’s similar to Shane’s belief about the way a manly man should look and act. Preconceived notions blocking the way to the truth.

I like that Milan has attitude and isn’t easily intimidated. It says a lot that he chooses to go to school and bear the derision of others instead of comfortably staying at home with a tutor. Rory and Rowen are both cocky and self-important. It’ll be fun to see Milan knock them down a peg or two. I mean, who cares if she refuses to like his accent?

Shane checked Donovan’s hair for him, to make sure it was all in place. That’s when he OFFICIALLY became his boyfriend in my book. LOL

It’s loose where it shouldn’t be tight. I have a question about clothes, too. At the end of the last chapter, Captain had his clothes draped over an arm. In this one, he still had them on. Then when they left the fitting room, he carried a bundle of clothes. A new outfit for himself?

I see that this was supposed to be lighthearted, but the issues these characters were dealing with were too serious to laugh off. I actually felt bad for everyone involved at the end.

It’s depressing and, forgive me for saying it, boring. Noom and Kel I love. I want to find out about Kel’s family in France and his deceased mom. Noom’s mix of love and violence, heightened now that he’s a vampire, is fascinating. As for Siccu the Ssdist and effed up Envy? Not really interested.

This is a problem of Shane’s own making. He said nasty things. It’s gonna take time for Donovan to trust him not to hurt him. So Gordy will lighten up once he knows and trusts Shane more. And those nasty things Shane said? They were about how Donovan looks and acts — basically, the essence of who he is. And now Shane is coming across as wanting Donovan to change (and conceitedly enough, implies that Donovan is doing the primping for his sake). Am I taking this lighthearted story too seriously? Probably. But Mrsgnomie, you’re a fabulous writer. I guess I want you to challenge yourself a leeettle more with your characters. Pushing ourselves is how we grow. However, I am very much aware that this is probably a hobby for you, and you’re offering up stories for free and delivering chapters at a steady pace for chrissakes and I can just fuck off. 😆

Laughing, because I think GORDY should put SHANE in his place. If Shane can’t accept everything that Donovan is, he should quit now. And does he even know what Donovan does for a living? 60+ hours on a kid’s cancer ward is effing exhausting.

It’s funny that you wrote this and don’t agree with what your character did. :0) I don’t think he’s overreacting at all. Shane was unintentionally being an asshole. It doesn’t matter if Shane thinks Donovan should ease up on the grooming he does. Donovan ENJOYS pampering and grooming himself. He likes to look a certain way and Shane should accept it, stop ragging on him about it, and let any shortening of the beauty process happen in its own time. Going off to enjoy the day without Shane was the right thing to do. Hopefully, Shane thought about his words and is ready to talk about it.
