  1. @Bill W I sometimes forget what a sheltered life I have lived!!! I had no frigging idea what Bill W was referring to with that 420 comment? So I typed out roach 420 . To say I was surprised, well I was, leave it at that. Lucky stoner spider finds a free joint in its web | Mashable But at least I found a spider connection.

  3. Two caterpillars are escaping a spider... They climb up a small branch and get to the edge, but realize they are now trapped. "Hold on tight!" says the first caterpillar, and he quickly chews through the branch. It snaps and they begin to fall, but he grabs two protruding twigs and steers the branch through the air with grace and finesse. "That's amazing!" says the second caterpillar. "How are you doing that?!" The first caterpillar scoffs. "Am I the *only one* in the whole damn forest who knows how to drive a stick?" What’s worse than a box of spiders? A box that was meant to be full of spiders. My son asked me, "What happens to the spiders that gets hoovered up?" "They Dyson." What do you call pants made for a German spider? 4. Which goes to prove two (2) things: 1 - That not all government officials are idiots. 2 - That someone on the Australian Tourist Board was smart enough to realize that having to preface a tourist blurb with a 'Not for the faint of heart' would be counter productive to the stated aim of the board.

  9. Six-Eyed Sand Spider Burying Herself (Sicarius hahni) - YouTube For anyone who is wondering... Sicarius Hahnii belongs to a very ancient clade of spiders whose fossils date back millions of years ago. Its also known as the six-eyed crab spider and is known for being extremely toxic. However, since it prefers dry sandy caves far away from human contact, death by its bite is very rare. My brain has never been more conflicted between "that's cute" and "get away from me". It's like a green stop sign.
  10. Alice Cooper - Welcome To My Nightmare (Official Audio) - YouTube Ear Spider Infestation Spiders living in someone's ear might sound like an urban legend, and many of the pictures you'll find of the supposed condition are doctored. However, there are recorded cases of spiders being found lodged in the ears of both humans and animals. Spiders don't typically seek out ears, noses, or mouths to crawl into. But when it does happen, the accounts are genuinely unnerving. People describe the scratching sounds they hear as the spider tries to move, and mention unexplained headaches and ear pain. Even though it's very unlikely to ever happen to you, it's awful to think about.

  12. @Bill W What would you do if this was in YOUR neighborhood? .................................................................................................. My answer was, RUN AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The following was was an actual event that occurred, but my personal reaction to it would have been the same, RUN AWAY!!!!!!!!!!! The Baltimore Wastewater Treatment Plant This might just be the worst spider infestation of all time. In 2009, the Baltimore Wastewater Treatment Plant called for help for an "extreme spider" problem. When they said extreme, they really meant it. Almost four acres of the property was completely coated in spider web. Scientists who studied the event estimated there were over 107 million spiders living there, with over 35 thousand spiders per cubic meter in spots. If you're still in doubt about whether or not you should give this a Google image search, maybe a quote from the local paper could help you decide: "We were unprepared for the sheer scale of the spider population and the extraordinary masses of both three dimensional and sheet-like webbing that blanketed much of the facility’s cavernous interior... Far greater in magnitude than any previously recorded aggregation of orb-weavers, the visual impact of the spectacle was was nothing less than astonishing. In places where the plant workers had swept aside the webbing to access equipment, the silk lay piled on the floor in rope-like clumps as thick as a fire hose.”

  16. @Mancunian I am one of the many who feel the same way. We knew it was coming, but the shock is no less. I mentioned to you once, that I met her at the Union Jack Club in London, on February 12th 1976. So on that day Her Majesty came to our (three of us) table and asked me, my name, where I lived, what my job was in Egypt (UN duty) and how I liked England. Most replies were, Yes ma'am and No Ma'am (slightly intimidated, or what). When ever I thought (think) of her, it is that face I see, that voice I hear in my mind (from 46 years ago) and will for ever more. She kept her word & promise and served to the very end. Prologue

Kyle, I started reading your saga long before, you brought it to GA. I have been hooked from the very beginning and still am. I just hope I will still be around for its' completion (hint, nudge, nudge). I will be honest with you and admit, I would prefer it more, if there wasn't a dark side to it. Having said that, I suppose that without that aspect this tale might have ended a long time ago. So any bits that I'm not crazy about, I pass over quickly and carry on with the story. You have created a great story with ' The Kandric Saga '. I would not have you change a single word of it. The tale and your writing abilities leave me in awe. Thank you & best wishes sandrewn

    Chapter 6

Well there you have it! An intro, plus five chapters of ignorant bliss. Now, chapter six taking place in three locations. Spencer's office (where all is revealed, sort of) , George's coach ( Robert's side of the story) and George's study room at Portland Place with Daventry (and his revelations). Many answers given, giving rise to so many more questions of problems yet to come. So much food for thought, more please Sir.

    Chapter 5

What a wonderful change from the last few (many) returns home. Caroline and George as full partners once more. All of his children (3+1) healthy, loved and cared for. Finally, news of why he was called back from the fleet and what to expect. Not sure of the why exactly, but he gets his ship and crew back. All of his past junior officers (especially those that were not killed) seem to be doing great. Now there remains only Freddy to worry about, Granger to the rescue, I hope! Now we (and George of course) need details, and so the adventure begins, ' tally-ho '.

    Chapter 4

Almost like old times, a leisurely cruise towards home, a couple of prizes along the way, but of course. With the warnings St. Vincent gave him, giving back command to Sawyer, while distasteful, left him some hope for the crew's future. Now it was time, time to go home. Then on to the Admiralty, to see what adventures await him (and us, YAY).

    Chapter 3

I was worried that Jacobs got lost in the shuffle, glad to see him around (have to keep Joshua happy). So, a one month command and then? You have to feel for the crew, a reprieve, and then probable return of Capt Sawyer(even I'd be depressed). Last time it was the crew's food, this time gun powder. Good thing his hearing is still sound(heh, heh). Still no closer to what 'Northern Exposure' means. That's okay, a good chapter and no midshipmen were killed or maimed in the telling (keep it up). Please Sir, another chapter.

    Chapter 2

The Wilcoxes and Mann, then Campbell and now Sawyer, is there no end them and their minions? More fleet politics and a temporary command, but going in the wrong direction. Still, command of a ship, any ship is better than his present job. Perhaps now he will be able to look into helping with the pickle Cavendish is in. 'Northern Exposure' what the hell does it mean?????? I know the drill, thank you for the chapter and I hope all will be revealed when next we hear from you, pretty please.
