    Chapter 17

I loved that Jimmy won the fight with the queen bitch, politely but firmly.
  3. Turned out I hadn't read the story before. I enjoyed it, so thanks for the recommendation @spikey582

    Roadmap

LOL, i took a little break at some point, but I had time to finish the story. Maybe I should have been slower, to get reactions and replys in return.

    Finale

That was a lovely surprise, both the frank talk with Brandon and Alex' friends turning up for the summer. Great story.

    Turnaround

Good to see things improving for both of the. The counsellor sounds cool, I liked her for focusing on the positives in his story.
  7. Such a relief, both about Zara coming to her senses (the fire was good for something) and Alex finally coming clean about his addiciton and agreeing to see a counselor.
  8. Phew, thank heavens for clever and observant sisters. Liz saved the day. Alex really need to see a counsellor or someone who can help him fight his stupidity about gambling.
  9. It never rains, but it pours. Poor Jeremy, one disaster after another. But at least it made Alex come to the right conclusion: he needs to be there for his boyfriend.
  10. There is no excuse for Brandon, he didn't listen when Jer tried to shut him up. And he led with his money on the first date, so how can he be surprised about Alex' impression of him.

    Birthday

Hmm, so who outed Jer to his Mom ? But at least, Alex has his dad with him, and he might be able to talk sense into Zara.

    Roadmap

Alex is still being sensible, and he deserves praise for planning to finish his degree. But I'm holding my breath on the betting issue.

    A New Page

I think it will be good for Brandon and Alex to be friends, if they can make it work. Kudos to Brandon for making the effort.

    Fallout

Was Natalie recording their conversation ? Will she tell Jeremy she'll out him to his mom if he doesn't date her ? Firts kiss
  15. Well, Natalie was a surprise, but I'm a lot more worried about Alex having a betting app on his phone. He needs to tell Jer the truth and admit to being a betting addict who needs helps and to be distracted. Kisses would be good.

    Memories

At least, they're both being honest and sensible. Not all this pussyfooting around which happens in some stories. I hate it when characters spend endless chapters worrying about whether to approach their crush and be brave enough to say something.
  17. Well, at least the secret about the pretend girlfriend was quickly resolved. And Alex' sister gave good advice, but it's a little hard on Brandon.

    Phonography

Maybe Brandon is a good guy really and trying to become more detached from his rich family. But even though Alex works in a car wash, his background is still upper middle class.

    I Remember

Yep, Alex was saved at the last minute. I hope he stays away from gamling from now on. So if Jer really has a girl friend, why didn't he mention her himself? Is his mom deluding herself or is he pretending ?

    Raphael

Well, Brandon seems easy going with money, so Alex was in luck there. But I hope the easy solution to his problems doesn't make him careless again.

    Date Night

Hmm, Alex must be eye candy too, if he gets invited out like that. At least he was sensible enough to see the car key prank was not funny for the driver.

    Homecoming

Well, I'm not surprised Alex's parents are upset and disappointed. And the worst part is he seems to be in total denial about his addiction.
  23. It may be more sad for Jeremy, as Alex has his two other friends.
  24. I like Boone. He's smart and kind-hearted, but realistic too. He's done his best for his friend so far, but I guess there is a limit.
  25. I think I've read this story (the baker and the home coming guy rings a bell). My memories of it are fond, and your review inspires me to a revisit.
