    I remember having a pair that looked very much like those when I was a kid. Pair of Keds, probably about $10 back then, a can of silver spray paint, probably about $1.50 Total cost at MOST - $15.

    There is a possibility for married couples who later find earth mates besides divorce and starting over. At the begining of the story, accepting same sex mates was difficult for Morningstar, and Vega was also sceptical, if not as vocal as Logan. Pack members came around once, and they will again. I can see a polyamorous household working should Joanne really love her current husband in spite of not being earth mates.

    OK, so maybe Buzz was the intended victim? If the care package was the source of the explosive, it would have gone with Buzz no matter where he headed. Not a sure fire way to get to Brad, the assumed target since it was his plane. We need to remember not to ass-u-me anything with your writing.

    Non-human stories have been around for centuries. Why? Who the hell knows, but I read them for pure escapism. Just as homosexuality occurs naturally in all "real"populations, including animals, why would it NOT occur in shifter/elves/any non human population?

    I agree, and there is always the possibility of impromptu marches on MLK day in light of recent court rulings, and protests at the end of the week since Trump is not exactly a favorite choice to be at the top of the hill!

    I try hard to support authors. I spend many hours editing, am always willing to discuss things when one of "my" authors need a sounding board, hit like on 99% of what I read, and leave a short comment explaining why if I didn't hit like. But I don't leave real reviews. My friends here all know why. If you don't and would like to know, pm me. I do, however, leave emojies that best represent the feelings I have at the conclusion of a chapter. It has earned me the name of "Emoji Momma" from a favorite author. It made me smile, as I hope me emoji reviews make the author's smile.

    Hmmm, as difficult as I find writing more than a few hundred words, I don't think tnis method of inspiration would work for me. I would never get anything done. I totally read past the name switch the first time. Guess my brain rejected "jacked Jack" as a possibility!

    You should have seen the craziness between BSL and ASL, the version I had learned! Subtle differences that could totally change meaning!

    LOL - Sasha almost ended up with Anubis with a lion-cloth too! I read the sentence three times before I was able to figure out what was bothering me about it.

    Ok - I by no means consider myself an author. I dabble a little to quiet the voices in my head when they get noisy. That being said, I do not think a person needs to have given birth to understand that it hurts like nothing else on earth. I do not think the color of a protagonists skin should be a limiting factor. There are tons of reference material out there that would allow any author to get decent insight on " growing up black" (or Hispanic, or any other minority). I am a straight middle aged woman. That does not mean I do not understand the implication of AIDS. I was around before it even had a name, lost friends to it, sat with others as we grieved, and still more waiting on test results to see if yet another friend was given what back then was a death sentence. I have seen the situation evolve so that HIV positive people can lead a basically normal life. It scares the hell out of me when I hear a teenage gay kid in my neighborhood say he doesn't worry about AIDS, that it is a thing of the past. If only it were! I also have been a first responder on a rescue squad for many years, and prevention of transmission is a biggie in the annual re-certification classes. I think all of this would qualify me to write an HIV positive character if I so chose, despite never having had the virus myself.

    Remakes have been happening for decades. When you have a bad weather day to kill, sit down and watch these three John Wayne movies back to back. Rio Bravo, Rio Lobo and Rio Grande. My favorite is the Dean Martin/ Ricky Nelson / Angie Dickenson version.

    As a parent I fully understand both positions. When Wings was in elementary school, she stepped in to stop a bullying incident in which a special needs student was being shoved around and berated. Things escalated quickly, and when the (boy) bully put his hands on her, she hauled off and decked him. Of course the admins needed to punish her, violence is unacceptable. She and the bully got suspended, Wings for one day, him for two ( one for the bullying and one for putting hands on Wings). I signed the paperwork and made all the appropriate noise about violence being unacceptable, then promptly informed her, in front of the staff,that we would be going shopping in the morning for a dress for the graduation dance, followed by lunch. I was damned proud she stood up for her friend, and when the bully put hands on her all restrictions were off, defend yourself!

    You should see me trying to control a skirt while climbing onto our big truck, an F 350 deisel. The Jeep is easy in comparison! Yes, for those of you keeping track, we are a three truck family, an F 350, an F 250 and a soft top four door Jeep Wrangler, all three four wheel drive.
