Leading horses over icy spots is interesting. They do not ice skate very well! But the alternative is keeping them in the barn and while that works during the storm, it's not good for days on end waiting for a thaw.

Who said anything about martyrdom? I am quite proud of my insanity! Can't make up its mind what it is doing here. Snow one minute, ice, rain, all over the place! But the whole lot is accumulating. Glad I am home for the day! If I go poof I likely lost my cable and thereby net connection.
-
Where can I get some of these things? Need em after a winter storm at the barn! I knew they existed but have never seen em for sale. Guess we don't get severe enough winter weather to make it worth carrying em in any sort of store.

Yes, you can all blame me for this insanity!
-
I am sort of obligated to at least try and keep up. I did build the place!

MORNING GANG! So far I have actually gotten the morning of my day off, OFF! Not one panicked call from the barn! ( POUNDS loudly on the nearest piece of wood) So far then "major storm" has not amounted to much. I keep waiting for people to ignore a warning because they have been so wrong so often this winter. So, one night off from the net due to a headache and I come back to TEN PAGES! Took most of the morning to catch up! Why is it so quiet when I am here and you talk your fool heads off when I am away? Don't you like me anymore? For those of you who don't remember ten pages or so back, this was in reference to the mexican saddle with the huge (dinner plate size) horn. Doesn't seem to affect the seat and comfort, but it's sort of like having a table mounted in front of you. It just kept getting in my way. Might be good if I were mounted and teaching though. Be able to take notes! Too bad or good thing? I don't know which would be more disorientating, loosing the day going west, or getting it back coming east again. Welcome to the "Always behind " club. I don't think I am ever up to date unless this lot is being antisocial.

I never quite understood how anyone can ride comfortably in those Mexican saddles. The horn is the size of a dinner plate! Tell me about it. Wrecking havoc with my lesson schedule.

Lol I was on the road to work when you posted this. From the looks of things, a goodly portion of us were up and about. Last nights snow did not add up to a hill of beans. Third time in a row they were way off the mark ( yeah, no surprise there!) They are gonna predict a big one and peeps are gonna ignore em cause they are wrong so often. Then if they are right, there will be hell to pay when no one is ready.

Hey, can't be worse than me. I killed a plant called a live forever!

Think I would rather know than wonder.

Hi sean

There you have it. It IS irrational, but that does not make it any easier to deal with or any less real. Like a phobia, ( irrational fear) it can still be debilitating. Ask any claustrophobe, we know that the tiny powder room is not going to keep us prisoner, but that doesn't stop me from leaving the door slightly ajar unless there are guests in the house

Define normal.

And just how often are cars burried by that monster?

Lol I worked in an aftercare program ( 5 to 10 yr olds mixed together in one class) for over 12 years. Snacks and playtime were easy and fun. Try getting them to pay attention during homework hour? Not so much!

I think that goes pretty much for anyone who ever met Lacey. I did not interact with him much, but always enjoyed when he joined conversations, even when the subject was more serious. You can drop in on any of us.

35/1 sounds warm to me dugh! Morning all.
-
Lol several of us are parents, and a few work, or have worked, in the school systems. It's easier to get a dozen horses going in the same direction than it is to keep up with one toddler! Morning all.

I could and should practice today's word as it applies to my job at the barn.

I can explain that. The idea of personal accountability is no longer taught, any sort of punishment for poor behavior has been banned, and children need to be "helped" rather than taught at the primary school level.

I never bothered reading 50 Shades, nor did I see the movie. The more I learn here the happier I am I didn't waste my time.

My daughter is a member here Albert. Her screen name is Winged Wolf, but we call her Wings.
-
Yes, actually she would. But only because my collection of vinal is older than she is.
-
You would if you had seen my one granny drive! She was awful, and we kept taking both her licence and keys from her. She seemed to have an inexhaustible supply of keys!
