  1. I suppose I should know - but I don't. What's a big Mo?
  2. No doubt everyone has been an idiot from time to time and same for immature. If we were all perfect little people It would be pretty boring. It is the growth we see in a character, even in incremental steps, that make a story interesting. At this point Kaiden is suffering from depression, something that has happened before. I think we need to progress a bit more in the storyline before judgement.
  3. Windows could have been opened by the first responders? Do they do that sort of thing? I'm confused by the temperatures. Body is 78 deg. Fahrenheit, well below the ambient temp of 66 degrees. 78 is below 66? So sad for Twyla. A lot to handle at once. Also - (not part of the plot) hopefully the wax paper is not going in the oven?
  4. Still "in progress"?

    Chapter 19

Yes, any update on this before I drop out from following? I find my "following " profile holding 65 titles. Many gone to never-never-land. GA should have a strict policy that when there is no update for 6 months the story status is automatically changed to "on Hold".

    Dead and Snow

Possibly. However in Chapter 1 it says Danni has both psychic and telekinetic abilities. Later it makes clear he was not aware of how the guards were killed. He blacked out, and when he woke up, they were dead in front of him. That made me think telekinetic. Possibly not, though.

    Dead and Snow

A question. Danni was able to kill the two guards who were after him on earth (which was the reason he was transported). Fear of being sent back to the facility seemed to have kicked off the ability to protect himself. Why, then, was he unable to protect himself from Mike? Fear seemed to be a significant factor in that encounter as well.

    Sobriety -Day 8

So a mystery it is. I did find Cole's 2013 story "Door Country Mystery". It "serves as an introduction to the detective in my upcoming murder mystery 'So Weeps The Willow'". Seems "upcoming" has taken awhile So someone is going to die here - but at the beginning of three parts we don't yet know who. Of the five or so characters so far I haven't hit on a candidate.

    Sobriety -Day 8

What can I say. An entertaining story so far but there are elements that don't quite fit. Perhaps other readers can provide some insight. First the author comments at the beginning and end of each chapter in the "grey" areas. Lets take the last one first: "Technology has changed that, We are now watching people using social media to express themselves............" - Excerpt from the prologue of So Weeps The Willow. Um, no I don't remember a prologue. The story begins with 1. Sobriety - Day 0. We won't find this quote there. So I went to the story synopsis. Nothing there either. Except for another slight anomaly. The tags are, Young Adult, Adult, Urban, North America, Suspense, Fostering, Modern. Two clues here that don't quite fit: "Fostering: and "Suspense". Not yet part of the story so far but we are not at the end (or the middle) of the story yet. And then there is the grey area here at the beginning of chapter 1.: "First my husband, then my brother. It's too much. Just too much!" - Twyla" - OK. Option 1: Cole has access to much better drugs than the rest of us. Option 2: There is a reference to another "So Weeps the Willow Story" (but not in the current list of the author's works) Option 3: Other readers have more insight than me. "Twyla"? I think the grey area comments mean something but I have yet to grasp the context. I am looking forward to seeing how this progresses. I hope the suspense tag is correct. There seems to be more going on here than has been able to be developed in the initial chapters and I like a good mystery. 😊

    In to the bedroom

Hey! Don't sell yourself short . My partner and I have been together 28 years now. He is naturally outgoing, even with strangers. I am pretty quiet until I size people up. It can make for a pretty good match. Different styles tend complement each other.
  11. Hmm Nats stated concern is that she has "skipped two nights of fun to listen to you whine.....". I don't think that's tough love - but possibly another alcoholic talking. The fellow who went to the AA meeting might be a better bet at understanding Jake's issue.
  12. Although I have MS Edge, Chrome and Firefox I generally use MS Edge as the everyday browser. I no longer get e-mails when stories I follow are updated and don't get any notifications either. Is MS Edge a supported browser? Thanks
  13. I'm glad Brett is going to sing us a song Mr Squirrel has hinted a couple of times that Brett can sing. I've worried all along that with his intensive type of dyslexia there can be huge barriers to good employment and strong personal relationships. Maybe he will become a famous (and wealthy) singer/songwriter! There are many ways that talent trumps dyslexia. It seems strange that given her position as a Doctor Brett's mom hasn't done more to get him some specialized help. I feel Billy and Dustin will make it fine. Brett will too with some confidence and Billy to stand beside him.

    Smooth

It's getting a bit ominous. From the story title and description one has to wonder just who is the conman.

    I'm Just a Kid

I feel some readers tend to be too hard on Billy. These kids are fifteen not nineteen and still in a learning/development phase. Which is pretty well what Billy is doing - learning how to deal with life with a bit of help from the adults in his life. Billy and Brett will muddle along. It's Dustin with his dysfunctional 'family' that is the big worry for self harm or suicide. I know Billy's Dad can't take on every kid in the town but hopefully he can keep an eye on one more.

    Dustin's World

Unfortunately I've come to believe that similar to driving people should be required to take training, pass tests and get an annual license before being allowed to have kids. And when they screw it up this bad they lose both the license and the kids.

    Chapter 22

Actually for me the story has just turned stupid. I can't think of a greater insult to the feelings of Scoot's mother and sister. Even an idiot who wanted to embark down the road you say Scoot decided to take "on a bet" could have said up front to close family "I've decided to check into a Tibetan monastery for a month so don't expect to hear from me until then". To do otherwise puts forward an extremely insensitive and me, me, me personality. Please don't think an author response is required. I have "unfollowed" the story and will not read any further. Within GA there is a whole world of good stories to take up. But keep writing. For everyone who doesn't particularly have empathy with your point of view I'm sure there are others who do.

    Chapter 21

So not the preacher's kid ! He will just have to get up to some other devilment. But I can't imagine Scoot is there of his own free will. When is Owen getting his plane ticket?
  19. Still very much enjoying the story. Really like the characters, especially Billy''s dad who comes across as tough but I believe will be a great support to Billy and Brett. I hope you are sympathetic with how you develop Brett's character. Our school system is recognizing the seriousness of dyslexia with new and inovation programming. It is a real and life long thing that both sides of a couple have to deal with. I'm surprised, given his Mother's profession, that she isn't providing more medical support. Maybe I have missed or are not picking up on just what year or era we are in in this story.

    Chapter 18

As far as mystery goes authors can't resist dropping a clue or two. So I will go with chapter nine and Dean. Hope it's not murder, tho......

    Chapter 15

Yes, "people in the business" will be good. I expect there is something in the other computers that will push things along. Other than taking 11 chapters to get the search actually started I am enjoying the story.
  22. Hmmm.. No reviews yet. Can't honestly say I'm surprised. I like half and I hate half. I'm taking a break to read all the Author's other works to see if I can't get some sensing of the Author's style. (So far I like "Ben" but iffy on "The Pastel Cowboy"). Hopefully by the time I get back Will will have Lawyered Up and sued everyone he has encountered since his rescue for neglect, abuse, assault, professional misconduct, and whatever else can be devised. That should give him enough ready cash to get on with his life or at least pay to get back from whatever parallel universe he is in to ours.
  23. I admit I have been following W.A.R elsewhere which is a couple of chapters ahead of GA so I will bite my tongue and try to stay within chapter 4. First my heart really goes out to Brett. Dyslexia is a difficult thing for a teen to deal with especially when there doesn't seem to be much understanding and support from the adults around whether teachers or family. He seems to be dealing with it alone by taking the failures and then having to make it up through summer school. When it seems no one else has to do this it just makes the personal failure harder to take. Billy seems to understand that there are underlying problems and I think he will be a great support going forward. Billy's Dad is great. He cares about Brett as an individual kid and shows it. Hopefully he is able to maintain that empathetic and caring attitude when trouble hits closer to home - Billy says "hey Dad guess what - I'm Gay ", for example. Through your writing Mr. Squirrel the characters have depth and believability and I look forward to further chapters to see how it all unfolds.

    The Nowhere Boy

Ummm... I'm not all that familiar with US CPS processes but given Will's well known history and three years of intensive treatment is it possible he is put out to foster care without ongoing psychiatric counselling to ease him into outside life? There seems to be a real need at the moment for some professional guidance on what would be acceptable vs unacceptable relationships.

    Trial Run

Well its been six months since the last chapter. Should we assume this story has died?
