Well, that would make me grumpy. 😏

Christmas for us was ok. Bread didn't turn out that great (dough didn't rise as much as it should have) but the cookies were delicious. And my brother and/or sister in law are apparently upset at us for not saying anything to them about our relationship earlier, even though they've not shown an ounce of giving a 💩 about my life before now. Edit: sorry -- I think I posted most of this the other day; yesterday wasn't a good day (too much pain) and I forgot

Getting a new place that is "ours" is the goal. We need to get his place remodeled (was his parents and hasn't been updated since the 60's), then we'll live there for awhile and rent this place out until we have the $$$$$$$ saved for a down-payment on a new place.

Day went mostly ok. Started by seeing my last living Aunt -- she just called to say the cookies were delicious and she had to hide them from my diabetic Uncle [she knows they have molasses w. a powdered sugar frosting - so not exactly sugar free - but said, "sometimes he has to learn the hard way." Then went to my brother [M] & sister-in-law [C]. Told them about the wedding; M took me to see dad leaving SP w C who told him "they" were disappointed I'd not said anything before [by "they" she means her] and didn't know what to say when we were at the hospital. Wanted to say, "how about any of the 40 things you'd normally ask a new couple?" but bit my tongue. ‼️ Going to drive around town now and look at Christmas Lights. 🎄

The "snowflake" bread turned out ok, I think -- ends of the "points", where you pinch two twisted strands together, didn't all stay sealed but it doesn't look too horrible and smelled ok. House now smells of ginger and molasses. Not tasted one yet - waiting for them to cool a bit -- but if they taste like they smell they should be delicious. Part of my panic, I'm sure, is that this will be not only the 1st Christmas SP spends w. the family, but the 1st one w/o mom being around. Will let all of you know on Friday how it went.

SP and I were going to go drive around last night and do that -- not sure what came up that we didn't. He's working this evening.

Trying to make a cinnamon bread and some soft ginger-molasses cookies for tomorrow. Reminded of why I don't bake. <sigh> Having a mile panic attack all afternoon. We are going up to see my brother and his wife, and will let them know we're married (unless I completely panic before then).

Hope it gets better for him. I have that problem -- unfortunately, SP smokes. And I'm odd in that when my allergies / asthma gets bad, my sense of smell heightens (the opposite of what you would normally expect). He commented this morning that my coughing had been really bad the last couple of days and I had to remind him that the smell of cigarette smoke makes it worse. He's promised to try to cut back when he's at home; it's a start.

Talon is a but much --- but in a good way. 😏

Very interesting start.

I've been working from home this week. They're doing cleaning / abatement in the mechanical room so the steam supply has been cut off to the building -- the steam-heated building.
-
Cold and snowy here -- but looks nice from inside the warm house looking out. Just drove SP to work so he wouldn't have to walk.

Well, one day of feeling like 💩 due to fever is better than a even a moderate case of shingles.
-
Had a shingles booster shot on Thursday -- wasn't feeling well yesterday and my body temp hit 100.4F [my normal is in the low 97F]. Thankfully, it's down to an almost normal (for me) 98.3F this morning; fever and muscle aches can be a side effect of the shot. @Wayne Gray glad the machines are up and running -- enjoy your weekend.

Guess I'll be working from home next week. They're doing cleaning / asbestos abatement on our air handling system and, given that the temps are dropping into the 40F', the building will get COLD.

Small steps forward are still steps forward. Now that you know what is needed, the others will hopefully install easier.

I think we feel the same way towards you. I know I'm extremely happy to find such a wonderful online community to be a part of.

sorry for your insomnia - weekend was good but not ready for Monday morning

We ran into something similar a few years ago when we hired a Visiting Professor who had been let go from his old position because the Dept. was downsizing. We soon found out why he was let go, instead of someone else. Had a bad habit of not showing up to his classes -- w/o notifying the students or Office. Doesn't look good when lg #'s of students are coming in asking, "where the **** is our teacher?"

Call after each and every event. Be a pest.

Not used it but looks like it could be useful in tracking/organizing longer, complex stories -- and pricing seems flexible, and you only pay for the "modules" that you need.

Blood pressure has been high the last 6 days -- very high (compared to what it was) the last 4. Worry about bp does not help ones bp.

Up where my brother & dad are pretty much NO ONE is following the "wear a mask" rules. A city councilman had a recall petition set up on him for the mere suggestion the board DISCUSS IF they should issue a city-wide mandate. Oh - the state governor here -- who has done nothing of substance during this period -- has set up Thursday as a "day of prayer". 😷

We'll have rain, then some snow tomorrow. Making the joints ache today.
