Thank you all. It's one good thing that's happened in the last year.

Hope your sleep is restful, once you get there.

SP and I got married yesterday -- the 1-yr anniversary of our first date. We'll need to take off Monday morning to return the license to the court clerk.

SP and I had our first Thanksgiving together; a couple of issues w. brand new recipes but that's ok - always expect something can go wrong the first time you make something. Thankful for my loving soon-to-be husband -- tomorrow is the one year anniversary of our 1st date -- and thankful for all of you.

Baked the bourbon pecan pies for tomorrow (ended up making 2 normal pies instead of 1 deep dish), and did some of the food prep. That should help me get through tomorrow w/o too much joint pain. Two of the sides can be baked at the same temp, so that helps too. Still seems like a lot of work for a dinner for TWO PEOPLE.

The bad news is...no snow days for you. We got the good news this morning that they're giving us an "Administrative Day" on Wed -- so our Thanksgiving vacation just got a day longer.

Yep. For me it generally relates to something that will happen to someone else, not me.

Little Man is home -- we picked up his ashes this afternoon. 😢 Have them in the Barristers case my altar sits atop. They included a "lock" of his hair too. Nice 'mahogany' case w. a felt bottom.

When I was younger my mom had a small poodle mix that would get embarrassed. The groomer gave her a traditional poodle cut at one time (though that was NOT what my mom asked for) and when my older brother laughed at her she slunked under the couch and wouldn't come back out. She'd do the same thing if she passed gas -- she'd look at you, trying to pass blame, and if you said, "that was you" she'd sniff her behind and hide.

They have one -- it was the Universities boilerplate spiel on masks she was giving when the person went off. We received worse news this morning: the husband of one of our PhD Candidates passed earlier this week from complications related to COVID; they have a 12-year old daughter. 😢

She'd thought about that, but in the moment she thought it was overkill -- it was only after it was over she realized how quickly it could have escalated.

Ok... I don't want to get political and if this crosses a line I apologize. At the end of the day today at work, one of our female instructors called the Front Office -- she was fine until she started to relay the story, then the potential severity of it hit her and she started to fall apart. On her way to class, she ran across an older "non-traditional" student who wasn't wearing a mask. She started in on the the standard, University approved spiel on the nead to wear one. Grown ass dude went off on her and started shouting at her -- and followed her into her classroom. She was there early to set up the tech, and thankfully our computer tech was already in the room. Really p****** the rest of us off. She'll be asking for a police escort tomorrow.

In Nevada perhaps??

Do you mean, "Keep Me As An Apple of Your Eye" because there is no story in your list called "Make Me As An Apple of Your Eye"?

My only alternate use for pickle juice is to substitute it for the white vinegar normally used in deviled eggs.

Another two days of 20 degree F temp swings -- at least today is Friday, because I'm not going to make it past lunch most likely.

He's not hurting any more, and isn't getting so angry and frustrated at not being able to make his body do what he wants it to do. Sunday morning he was barking in frustration -- if there is such a thing as doggie profanity, that bark was it. Our other dog is having some issues w. his not being here. She keeps looking for him. Think she's going to have some anxiety for awhile.

SP and I had to put Little Man down tonight. We took him to a different vet for a 2nd opinion and she confirmed what we were pretty certain was correct but didn't want it to me -- brain tumor. Very somber evening tonight. 😢

Having a panic attack tonight -- election stress (even though I'm trying to limit news intake), worries over Little Man, and our 2nd counseling session is tonight in about 45-min.

Think that was the perfect answer.

He's 15 -- so quite old for his breed, and really beyond the breed's avg. lifespan. We're worried we're going to have to make a decision we don't want to make, but we also don't want him to suffer.

Little Man isn't doing that we'll we're afraid. He's been trembling more and more (even though we have him on pain Rx), sleeping more and more, and eating less and less. Tried to get him interested in his untouched breakfast and he went to sleep.

Or, she was just a very independent woman who refused to change her last name (even in a time when that was the expected default).

Wonderful end to the story. I know Max would be quite interested in another human that has a strong skwish -- what better way than to meet him in person.
