  1. The damn muse has been hyperactive. Do you realize I've posted something every month in 2019? And so far this year I've only missed 6 Fridays because I posted 1 chapter stories in July and August. I'm shooting for 2020 to be a similar one. Edit- The story I'll share in December is 3 chapters long so I'll miss another Friday
  2. Thank you! I had to leave a few things out because of the word limit and my self imposed format, but nothing omitted was crucial to the main story.
  3. Duh! Blakey of course. I did consider having Chipper sing "This boy is on fire" but Empire was such a damn good fit for him.
  4. Remember how some readers complained my chapters were too complicated? The unpublished stories I've already written and the one I'm working on now will hopefully have the best of both formats. But I do want to try the 1k approach again at some point.
  5. Thank you! I wanted to build on both the musical and personal fronts, let's hope I did it right.
  6. Repeating myself, CJ and Chipper have the most alike personalities. Ethan's a fixture in these stories, Miles makes an appearance in the one I'm currently writing but has no dialogue. Bryce and Zion are mentioned in that same story. All three will play a part in future ones.
  7. Y'all better be voting for him!
  8. So glad I delivered even when I didn't know I was. I keep stressing Chipper's a die-hard New Yorker so the song was a good fit. I have one more NYC-centric tune before we get done.
  9. Thanks, Tor!
  10. My stories have been based on the East Coast for the most part, but I've been California Dreamin' lately. The one I'm currently writing opens up in LA. A long time ago, in a story far, far away, I had Chipper perform "Empire State of Mind" in front of friends. I had one of them comment on Chipper starting the song in a lower register most likely afraid he could not reach the higher notes. I think of most musical competitions as boot camp for singers; there's a lot of work behind the scenes with vocal coaches and other experts. Levine is known for his falsetto and I wanted to show his influence on Chipper. Our boy keeps learning and isn't afraid to stretch. Oh, one more thing: he plays guitar, keyboards, and dabbles with drums.
  11. Now that we are in the second half of the story, the frequency of performances will increase. Hope you like what's coming. Glad you like the songs I've picked for him so far.
  12. @Tonyr I'll think of you tonight This is from Wednesday's edition of the Sun Sentinel, our local newspaper:

The shoes were his—canvas sneakers a friend back home had outlined the Manhattan skyline on. The jeans were also his, and the New York Yankees baseball jersey would be after the show. So would a couple of the bracelets on his wrist. The wardrobe coordinators worked with each artist prior to every performance. They provided as much or as little of the outfits as needed. In Chipper’s case, it was close to an even split so far. After each show, the contestants could keep or buy anything not t
  14. Damn, Jeff! It's yoo early to be blushing. Thank you. Chipper's one of those secondary characters who've captured enough of a fan base to justify a spinoff. After I wrote this story, I realized I have a couple of new ones who I didn't want to disappear. If I live long enough to write everything I've outlined, Aslan, Bliss, Bryce, Zion, and Nalbo may show up again.
  15. LOL - I keep practicing "I'm not saying another word until I have my attorney." Just in case, you know?
  16. Good thought pattern there. Often, the first accusation against people like Nalbo doesn't stick but leads to others coming forward to nail the bastards.
  17. Those multiple views of what's going on are too easily available From what I've read, London has to be one of the most wired cities in the world and I don't think the government is done installing cameras.
  18. Hope his attorneys can beat Chipper's lawyers and the FBI? Glad you love The Squad. I'm in the middle of writing another novella about one of them.
  19. Thanks, bud.
  20. We haven't heard the end of this episode, keep hoping.
  21. So you're fine if I ruing Nalbo? LOL
  22. I'm a firm believer in karma and suspect Nalbo will get what's coming to him.
  23. Not sure what you're referring to since I don't find any story by you on GA.
  24. Nalbo was inspired by Weinstein and others like him. Trading sexual favors for opportunities, or being coerced into doing something by underhanded means have been staples of the entertainment industry. I'm not done with Nalbo. As a matter of fact, his actions will affect not only Chipper amongst The Squad.
