Anonymous sources does not equal untruthful sources. The best example I can think of is Deep Throat. Woodward and Bernstein relied on him but not exclusively. If you read All The President's Men or even just watch the movie, you'll see their editor did not allow them to rely solely on that source. THAT is good investigative journalism. I have faith in the integrity of journalists just like Benjamin Franklin did and believe they should not simply repeat what they're told by those in power. They should always dig deeper. I do not believe MSNBC or FOX news are examples of good journalism. Most of what they air is opinion by their commentators who I don't think of as journalists.. Both networks cater to a specific segment of the population that leans hard right or hard left and will never change stripes. Nixon famously labeled some journalists as enemies when they asked him hard questions. To me, any politician attacking the media and not answering questions is hiding something.

I happen to agree with you until you get to the poll taxes. Historically used in the South to prevent blacks from voting. The Supreme Court found it unconstitutional under the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment. Disregarding the legality of it, for someone struggling to feed their children, even $1.00 is too high a cost.

Even though I've read the book more times that I recall, and I've seen the movie a dozen times, I'm not sure if the movie is more confusing than the printed story. I thought the book was brilliant, but I'm a Clarke fan. The movie I always thought was very '60s' and not only because of the attire. Kubrick's movies always confused me. A Clockwork Orange was as strange as the book and I walked out of Eyes Wide Shut halfway through. Although Tom Cruise may have been part of the reason for that.

Just remember that because someone uses drugs they're no necessarily a bad person. We must rid ourselves of kne-jerk reactions and view people in their entirety.

Our experiences help mold the type of person we become. Let's hope whatever he does, Chipper grows.

We all have our own views. I think you'll agree I try to keep things as close to real in my stories as possible. Drugs are a fact of life, particularly in certain locations and with certain segments of the population. We'll see if it becomes a regular thing with Chipper or not.

Lets not forget how many musicians, actors, and celebrities have been guests at rehab facilities. The public's pretty forgiving.

I remember when herpes was what everyone feared. Talking to a doctor friend a while back, she mentioned after so many years of AIDS awareness fatigue set in. I'm not sure if it's still a thing, but I could never understand guys who set out to zero convert on purpose. HIV may not be a killer the way it was but still.

As I told someone else earlier this morning, Chipper doesn't have political ambitions so he's not as paranoid about people finding out he uses drugs. The entertainment business is ripe with usage, just look at Justin Bieber as an example. As long as Chipper keeps it in rein, it should not become a problem. Then again...

I suspect this isn't Chipper's first rodeo. A young, hot kid in the entertainment business attending school in Miami would have encountered drugs before. Coke, ecstasy, Special K, and a few other substances are staples of part boys and I would place Chipper in that category. As long as it doesn't become an addiction...

Thanks for noticing the lack of pictures inside the van. As for the risky behavior, I see more men doing the same because PREP makes them feel invisible. That protects them from HIV but there's other bugs running around and some are becoming resistant to antibiotics. According to recent news reports, there's been a syphilis epidemic brewing in large urban centers.

I don't write a lot of sex scenes any more, too often they seem to be there only to titillate readers. When I do, they're there because they're important to the story. The way I see Bryce and Zion, I would drop my pants too!

Remember there's a big difference between users and abusers.

What do you expect from a good-looking 22-year-old in the entertainment business?
