1. I would imagine that most people heard of the tragedy that occurred just outside of Winnipeg here in Canada just over a week ago. To summarize the story, a passenger on a Greyhound bus suddenly attacked a random passenger with a knife and began repeatedly stabbing him. After the bus stopped immediately, the other passengers all got off the bus, leaving the attacker and the already dead victim left on the bus. The attacker than cut the head off the victim and carried it up to the front of the bus and manhandled it in front of the driver and a couple of other passengers who were keeping the bus door closed in order to prevent him from escaping. When the police arrived, several hours of negotiation went on when finally the accused was taken into custody. More shocking was what was revealed when he made his first court appearance. A bag containing an ear, a nose and a lip were found in his pocket. Also, the accused was seen consuming some of the flesh of his victim. The accused remained silent the entire time in court, refused any kind of counsel by shaking his head no, and nodding yes when the judge asked if he understood what was going on. Finally the judge asked the accused if he had anything to say, where after several moments of silence he spoke the only words since his arrest, "Kill Me". This shocked our country and probably most of the world and was the top story on BBC and second top story on CNN, and countless other news services. It is a horrible, disgusting, an unimaginable act that nobody wants to really comprehend happened. The victims family is in shock, their 22 y/o son was on his way home, just over an hour away when this happened to him. Now that the country and world is reeling over this event, who else would take this story and spin it to their advantage, other than PETA. PETA felt that the correlation between this act and what happens to animals at a slaughter house and finally on peoples dinner plates to easy to pass over. They tried to take out this ad in several newspapers and in my opinion were rightly refused. This has me infuriated. I understand that PETA is going for shock value and is trying to equate the similarity, but at what cost? I know some of the members at GA are vegetarian, and I'm really curious if they feel that PETA is justified in trying to publish this ad in Canadian newspapers? I guess I'm trying to understand how some people can use a family's, a countries', or the world's shock and pain to further their particular cause. What do you think? Steve
2. Oh, don't worry, I don't think anyone is ready to start roasting quite yet . Its just a good idea to stoke the coals since they never really went fully out since the last time they were needed (wonders if we should change to natural gas or propane so we can have instant fire ) Besides, having a nice warm pit near by seems to keep CJ honest .
3. I'm shocked All this negativity towards the unsung Hero of FTL. As CJ mentioned he had a few rough edges, but when it came to making the right decision, he proved his worth. Keep up all this FTL Eric character assisnation, I will be forced to file a formal complaint against you all with SPICE
4. Most excellent chapter CJ What I really liked about this chapter was that there was quite a bit going on. We found out why the General went to Idaho (BTW CJ, where in rural Idaho do the parents live, Telluride??? ). We found out who the candidates are to be the main show at the stag. We found out about Helen's plan for a replacement for Jim, who I hope is still included in the story and not forgotten. We learned about the General's son. I really enjoyed the way that Brandon and Chase had been playing with Eric about the proposal too . "Pass me the mustard, let's get married, and pass me the bologna too" That is classic . One thing popped into my mind while reading that no one else has commented on and it was this:
5. Hey Kevin, Are you acting as an agent for Mick for extra shows????
6. May I make a suggestion CJ? If you said no, too bad Eric is posed with finding male strippers for the Brandon/Chase stag, and Jon is leaving it solely up to Eric. So where does a guy go to find male strippers? They go to their gay friend for help. LA to San Fran isn't that far, is it? Maybe Eric will enlist the help of Cody to help him out. Just an idea
7. I hear that it is at least double what you're getting for Zeta reading.
8. Great first chapter CJ, and thanks . So based on some facts I remember from LTMP, I would say it is fair to say that JT is the Carlisle brothers dad. The boys are from Idaho Their dad was in the shipping business with Jerry, but walked away when the boys left. The boys changed their last name. If I were to guess early on what the general is there for it would take in the fact that he has a gay son himself, I believe that is what he said after Brandon landed the plane at Edwards. Jerry also contributed to Joe's homophobic ideas by lying about who killed his wife/Joe's mom. I wouldn't be surprised if Jerry fed fuel to the fire when JT found out about Chase. JT also mentioned that his relationship with his wife had changed since the boys left. I believe the General is there to have a father of a gay son to father of a gay son chat. He mentioned that he has been lied to. I believe that through Joe's contribution the General knows what Jerry probably did to the boys parents as well. I wouldn't imagine the government disclosed what they knew about Jerry's lies and deceit to JT, so the general is there to do that. Pepperoni and Banana Sandwich....ugh (insert puking smiley here) Thanks again CJ, it is amazing how much I missed the guys over the past couple of weeks . Steve
9. Actually I pop in there once a week to check for stories. I've really enjoyed all of Mike Aram, Jeff Allan, and Drew hunt. I still can't believe I never noticed that there was a forum there until you mentioned it  Hopefully if they do shut down, some of the authors there find their way to GA.
10. Crvboy has forums?????? Wow, never saw that before. Nuff said
11. I've been following the drama a bit up here. I agree 100% with you Kurt. Brett decided after much thought and conteplation to retire. The team accepted his retirement and knew that they had to change their current playbook, training and gameplan to the post Brett era. How much time and money have they invested in Rodgers, that Farvre thinks they can throw away and have him step in and win a Super Bowl this year.......possibly? I would say he was my favourite NFL Quarterback over the past few years, but it is time to move on. As far as him going to play for another team, I don't think he should be afforded that option. He signed a contract with the Packers and decided to retire. That means the Packers still have his rights. It would be insane to let him go make another team better just because he changed his mind. This drama is a mix between business and personal feelings for all that are involved. I don't envy you die hard cheeseheads at all . Steve
12. I see that objective #1 of SOS , to daze and confuse the goat has finally come to realization . CJ, I would be concerned. It appears that Dan has thrown down the gauntlet in this post Do not fear, dear Goat friend, we will do whatever it takes to help defend and uphold your rightful place .
13. Happy Birthday James!!
14. Now I hope your referring to the opposite sex only Would that be on a pop fly or when your fly pops? I don't know if I regret it, but sometimes I just wonder. Hmmmm I respect your honesty Robbie , I really hadn't done too much more at your age either. I respect that answer too That would most definitly be my curiousity. Not that I think I will try to find out, but I wonder if it makes you a better lover ? I can totally relate to that Tiger. Back when I told myself I was Bi, I just couldn't really see myself with a girl. As far as the threesome goes I would probably be more willing to try two males: one girl, than visa versa .
15. Sorry Old Bob, I guess I should have explained 'rounding the bases' a bit better for our foreign members Okay jamessavik, have you ever scored a home run in a trailer park? I didn't want to exclude our 'breeders' in this poll Hey, same age as me Wow Steph, I didn't even think to look there either . Now who is going to write Wikipedia and let them know they missed out on shortstop? Oh Kevin.....

I'm SUCH a girl...

Loved the video about Christian. Made me think how powerful love and friendship really is Now as far as the IT guy, that had me laughing. I have had many conversations on the phone with IT and I'm usually the dumb employee But sadly, I don't think I have stooped to the level of making sexual organs with my icons or run more than two or three programs at once. Thanks for the laugh Viv
17. Hi all, I was listening to the radio and a classic Tragically Hip song was on: He's Thirty Eight Years Old, Never Kissed A Girl. This got me to thinking, have you ever gone all the way with a person of the opposite sex? I tried to be inclusive in the poll as I realize some of out members are GLBT and straight. Also i realize some people falling in all the categories listed may have never gone all the way with either their own or the opposite sex. Myself....In my early teen years, when I didn't know what I was, I did have a couple of 'girlfriends' who we made it as far as oral sex, but I have never had full intercourse with a woman. I'm not sure what base that would be (and I'm really confused now that Kevin introduced 'Shortstop' in Buy Me a Drink). I don't have any urge to see what this is like, but I'm curious if anyone else feels if they missed out on anything? Anyways, curious to hear what you have to say.
18. I too discovered GA through Nifty while reading Desert Droppings (Yea Dom ). Actually I was reading The Road Home on Nifty avidly and joined Tyler's Yahoo site when the debate started on where he was going to take TRH. I began to check out GA, Awesomedude and Crvboy (the last two I'd never heard of before), and enjoyed reading from all three sites. I actually really liked a great author named Blackheart over at Crvboy and another one by the name of Graeme at Awesomedude, but I found myself coming to GA more and more. After reading for a while I started popping into the forums as a guest. I was like holy crap , the authors are actually on line and talking with the readers!! Eventually got up the courage to join and made a post or two, the whole time thinking what is the chances an actual author will respond to something I have to say. I slowly began to realize that it is the authors that make GA what it is, a great community, and all the members interacting make it the best. Needless to say, now I won't shut up . So to answer your questions Old Bob, GA is very important to me, I try to get in here at least once a day, the forums I think make it much better than the other sites, and I have really enjoyed getting to know many other members here as well. It kind of feels like talking to a friend on the phone and catching up when you pop in here. Thanks to Myr for having the foresight of making this site, and everyone else for contributing to make it the best . Steve p.s. Also a lot of cool guys named Steve here too . At least seven that I know of. LOL
19. I wouldn't worry Bondie, CJ will be pumping out cliffhangers for a millenium . Besides, don't you make double the rate for Zeta reading for a King than the rate for most others? Steve
20. It looks like we need a little peer pressure on CJ to take a break. So..... Connor, can you get some pressure from the goat subcommittee and any other goats Dan, Steve, Tiger, Kevin, can you use some peer pressure from the cliffhanger peer group . Kevin, Graeme, Myr, Tiger, BeaStKid, Benji, and Joe, a little pressure please from the postaholics peer group. Um, maybe some pressure from the Frenchmen for more taxes, and use of slave labour (unfortunately I can only think of one) And the rest of us will try to get the point across in whatever way we can .
21. I'm so picked on by the goat !!! Its not like I've ever done anything to deserve this, right?
22.

Hey, I don't have trouble with math problems as long as they don't go higher than 21. I think you were referring to Steve #1. Besides I don't think you'd like what I would write. Steve #2
23. A one armed man that is a criminal and kills??? Who would be capable of thinking up such an idea
24. I was thinking the same thing. So I got my 3 best associates (me, myself and I ) to do some digging. Back just before they detonated the bomb in Australia this was said:
