  1. I too was really wondering what purpose the Shadows are serving by being there. Yes, Instinct did invite them up after the tour and yes they are there to lend moral support after the failed attempt on Instinct's lives. Really though I would think the government and probably the bikers too would be much more happy with only looking out for five individuals instead of the now ten. My guess is with a swipe of his pen (or banging on a keyboard with a hoof) CJ figured there needed to be more people in immediate danger. I guess we shouldn't forget about the 3.8 million people in the Greater L.A. area and the 8.3 million in the Greater N.Y.C. area too !!! Whatever it is, I think for once I'm not really looking forward to next weeks chapter release. Things have been a little calm since the plane incident and I have a feeling that CJ will be giving us a cliffhanger that will make the plane pale in comparison .
  2. Reading this made me think, if you were CJ, who would you sacrifice from Instinct? I know that CJ would have to go into permanent hiding if he actually decided to off Eric. I think SPICE would actually hunt him down in a grid search of the entire state of Arizona. Probably the same if he offed either Brandon or Chase, cause he would be breaking up the relationship and that would be just wrong . But what about Jon? Really, he seems to be the one that we know the least amount about. There really hasn't been any posts or polls or anything to protect his character. Is he expendable? Then again, would Helen or Barbara be expendable as well? Killing one of them off would be breaking up that relationship, so I would hope everybody would react the same as the death of Brandon or Chase. Then again, Helen sacrificing herself to save her boys would be a heroic move on her part. So what do you think?
  3. Well, a few more names to add to the indictment. I guess CJ wasn't happy with the lack of bodies from the last chapter I have to agree that Dimitri has had a memory lapse to the fact that the guys and Helen have seen him before. This was the text from back in chapter 23: Jon seems to have been the closest to Dimitri. Also, won't the deputy's that are to be relieved not recognize Dimitri, and will be expecting Bowen? I wonder too why the hell the sheriff under threat of the US Airforce, the Governor of Colorado, and the head of the national guard would be stupid enough to send McClatchity out to the ranch once again . There appears to be a lot of stupidity in Dimitri's plan.
  4. Just to add my two cents, I have for some reason always thought of it like mirror  . Don't know why, maybe the first time I saw it was when I found out heard about Nifty's mirror sites . Steve
  5. You can post that story here for now. Now excuse me while I go wash my eyes and mind out after reading that.
  6. Awww Benji, I waited till after noon to mention this , doesn't that count for something . Besides, if anyone were invited up to the goat pen, I'm sure CJ would be a gracious host and serve nothing but the best tequila .
  7. And since CJ is a male goat (supposedly ), I'm not sure if you would want a drink with his 'milk' Mike
  8. Since were talking about sequels and such.... The first story that I ever read from CJ was No Shirt No Problem. I always thought that it screamed to be continued on. On the other hand, I know it was CJ's first attempt at posting something, so in a way it is perfect the way it is. What do y'all, ya'll, you all think? Steve P.S. In case you haven't read it, I recommend you do. It is here
  9. Kingman Arizona? Is this anywhere near Kingsman Bluff?
  10. Hey, lots of great ideas . Back when I made the post about Dimitri, I was kind of thinking it would be a little ironic for officer Barney, to be driving down the road in a pissed off mood, and find a tired and hitch hiking Dimitri thumbing for a ride back to Teluride. So while everyone dismissed Officer Barney for the bumbling idiot that he appears, it would be ironic if he just happens to arrest and takes down the second most dangerous person in the US. I would imagine him putting up a bit of a fight turning over his prisoner to the General, but he'd do it just to get some satisfaction out of it. Remember with CJ, you have to look for the most unlikely heros to appear in his stories Steve
  11. Any chance that as Dimitri climbs out of the ditch to hitchhike back to town, there might be two inept deputies, one in a very bad mood, pick him up for illegal hitchhiking??? Just thinking
  12. Wow, great chapter, and thanks CJ . After all that has been going on, I kind of felt this was one of the first optimistic chapters in a while. Things are starting to fall into place, and the air force seems to be on the right track. I'm glad that Eric recalled things from Australia regarding the speakers and especially the box in New York. With the General deploying units to LA, San Fransisco, and New York, it is looking good that the bombs will be discovered. Unfortunately they have all been rigged with anti tamper devices, so I'd say that is the greatest threat right now. I'm glad that everyone feels the same about Gunters passing. Unfortunately with all that is going on, I'm sure it will hit them all later. Thanks again CJ Steve
  13. Okay CJ I'm MAD !! Washed and waxed the car yesterday since it stopped raining for a day. Came out of work today to find goose crap on the top of the roof that splattered and ran down the front of the windsheild. Kill em off as quick as you can . Steve
  14. What??? Nobody is going to take a stab at this ? Could a certain bassist who shared an intense kiss with a character from another story be involved? Changing lanes = Changing teams I could only hope!! Actually that would be my concern with any of CJ's future stories. Now that he is admitted that he has written a cliffhanger, I'm kind of scared we will see more of them. So if he had two stories going at the same time, a logical conclusion to him might be a major cliffhanger would be a good place to leave off one story and start back up the other !! Remember the agony we had to endure to just find out if the boys and Helen would survive the plane accident? The forum boards lite up with guessing so we could get an early chapter release. Personally I now know more about missile guidance systems than I ever probably wanted to know . I guess I'll have to put my trust in CJ  . I'm sure he will do a great job no matter what he decides .
  15. Just one more example of J/S and C James being the same person
  16. Ah, but what about the deadly government trained attack geese??? You already sacrificed one of their cousins, maybe they thought the boys could tell them where you live
  17. I don't believe it is Joe either. Yes, he may know where they are, but how would have he got there? According to the story's time line the day that Gunter, Joe and the Custom's agent are meeting is the day the guys take off in the plane destined for Teluride. This is probably the same day that Dimitri and Mario leave Pacific Palisades to drive there. The guys have some minor plane trouble on their way , and have a slight detour, but the Air Force whisks them away to their final destination the same day. Mario and Dimitri drive 24 hours to reach Colorado, so we assume that this chapter takes place the day after the plane incident, so my question would be, how did Joe get there? He really doesn't have much money, he has to check out of his rehab centre, and why would he want to go Teluride in the first place when he can just pick up the phone if he had something to talk to Helen about.
  18. I can't help to look back and recall that in FTL, CJ created a character that many of his readers did not like. Many even suggested that he be killed off. Then the goat in his misdirection wrote Eric to be the unexpected hero to save the day. Now to the present, we have a character who is dislike by a few people and may have suggested CJ kill them off too. It would be ironic to have Helen as the unsung hero of this story. As far as my feelings of Helen, I can't help to think she may be the glue holding the group together. Can you imagine four guys between the age of 18 and 22 (?), who could make it in the world of rock n' roll without someone 'handling' them to a certain extent. I know there is tons of people this age that are more than capable and mature enough to take care of their own affairs, but lets get serious, four teen and post teen boys taking care of everything??? I don't think so. I think Helen is a good mix with the boys.
  19. I'll throw out a couple of ideas First, It may all have to do with The Scar. Remember CJ has mentioned some where along the line that there is territory around Paraguay that is rich in natural gas reserves and J/S may be just interested enough to take over the territory to ensure his retirement fund is sufficiently topped up. He is paying out a lot of money to the generals in Paraguay to help with the coup. Even with the gold reserves, I'm sure he is looking at ways to add to his bottom line. The other guess is that it may involve the one woman that some people love to hate. Helen. Helen likes to think of all the guys as 'her boys', and I don't think she may take kindly to others trying to take control of their lives or destinies. If it was a battle for the boys best well being between the Air Force, The Bikers, The Police (not only in Telluride, but remember the LAPD is involved after their conversation with Barbara) and Helen, my money would be on Helen . I think she'd kick some serious a$$. Steve
  20. Dang poll won't let me change my answer Who created it anyway?? I want to change my answer to Dimitri. A couple of things came to mind. The first was this passage in the brief encounter with the hero of the story so far, Gunter:
  21. Wow, this is the second time you have admitted to using a cliffhanger by the above sentance . It seems that you on your way to recovery
  22. Your wish is my command
  23. Make your guess here!
  24. So my guess is Mario is swiss cheese. What's your guess? If I missed any obvious choices, let me know.
  25. Wow, it looks like things are just beginning to heat up!!! First off, thanks for the chapter CJ . Now that Gunter has been ID'd as being dead, I will be in mourning for a while, what a sad day. I guess the only thing positive was that CJ decided not to sacrifice a Canada Goose, but choose a Greylag, which has definitely opened up a whole bunch of questions for the Air Force. I'm beginning to hope that Mario is the one that is dead in the field as he seems to be just one FU after another. But if it is Dimitri, that means one less person with a code for the real bombs. As far as Dimitri and Mario leaving their guns in the SUV, I took it as they were originally on a scouting mission. They mentioned they would return later that night.
