So your telling me that based on the fact that they all are at an isolated, private secured resort with very limited guests, that J/S will have to consider the fact that there might be others there that happen to have the same GPS that he helped Eric pick out for Chase who could have possibly attached to his recently swept vehicle? (and no, that isn't me gasping for breath after that run on sentence ). Okay, CJ is the author, so it isn't beyond grasp I kind of alluded to the same thing in my earlier post. It seems Brandon is going along with the brother's ideas and suggestions without questioning too much other than to Chase. It seems Brandon is really the only one who is uncomfortable with the road that they are travelling, but doesn't want to rock the boat since he is the new guy. Not sure if he will tell Jon and Eric to do something themselves, but I do believe there will be a few 'I told you so"s' to Chase very quickly. Maybe as they are strapped to a nuclear device awaiting the demonstration :nuke: ! Now about the comment about calling Lump, I imagine that Joe must have some information about dear old dad. I can't see them living together for so many years without him have the slightest inclination of what J/S is up to. Also, I am beginning to believe the J/S has a lot more to do with Joe's fall into booze and drugs the more I think about it. J/S has apparently (mentioned by CJ) only carried on the homosexual act with the band and associates. This probably means that Joe is not even aware of his dad's act. Since he could be the one to "in" his dad (that is the opposite of 'out', right? ), wouldn't J/S want him drugged up or even dead in order to protect his true identity? It will be interesting to see how CJ ties in the concert and the demonstration and the delivering of the pictures to whomever. I do believe this is actually all going to happen in Australia around the same time, as really CJ hasn't really given any foretelling into anything past the concert down under. I like to bring up another point, back in Chapter 20 Helen and Eric were talking about the paparazi and how Jim and his contacts were going to be brought on board:
-
I too, liked the opening the story . I picked up on something else early on, but don't know if I'm wrong on this or not, but we may have got a glimpse of CJ's personal life. Do you remember this: I wonder if our beloved goat gets this expression every time he checks into the forums . As far as the GPS being on the Range Rover, I think the guys from Instinct should be really concerned about their longevity themselves. If you recall last time J/S left the resort with Dimitri, they stopped and did a complete sweep of the vehicle for any bugs or locating devices. I imagine J/S will be doing the same this time, and since he most likely will find the GPS, that he himself helped Brandon pick out, it will be obvious on where it came from. I think things are going to heat up very quickly down under. Another thing that kind of concerns me, is that Brandon is the only one who really is questioning Eric's "feelings". Brandon is going along with the brothers ideas, but I have a feeling he is going to figure things out before they do. BK, and MilkeL eluded to J/S as slipping. I am beginning to wonder if he is such a evil mastermind (to anyone besides himself), or if really he is being followed and monitored all along. Could Dimitri actually be working for the "good guys' and keeping an eye on J/S? Will we soon find out that J/S won't be moving onto Paraguay but in fact they are waiting for him down in Guantanamo instead. Great chapter CJ, and please don't kill off any of the band members before the concert. I wouldn't want Graeme to be disappointed . and not be able to give a first hand review of the show. Steve

Is CJames The Queen Of The Evilest Clifhangers
wildone replied to wildone's topic in C James Fan Club's Topics
Sacha, I'm surprised !!! My posting history??? Let's look at it then. Yes I do post in this forum for promoting CJ as the: :king: :king: The Queen of the Evilest Cliffhangers :king: :king: But let's muddy the waters now. I also posted this in Is Shadowgod the King of Eeevil Cliffhangers . So based on those two facts, and the other consideration, that we are voting for the King of Cliffhangers in the poll, not the Queen, can you be so sure how I voted? Now I was not allowed to vote for two names, but are you willing to bet you know which way I did vote? Or maybe I haven't been vocal enough about some of the cliffies that Dom and Dan have included (much were already posted before I started contributing in the forums) in their stories? I will have to agree that everyone should read the authors involved and decide for themselves on who deserves the titles. Based on that, hopefully no one with the exception of Myk, can definitely say how I voted or if I even voted ! Steve -

As much as it pains me to double post (being a true lurker and all), an important point just came to mind. I do believe that we shouldn't declare who we voted for in the cliffhanger category. By doing so, some may come to the conclusion that we may be leaving certain authors hanging, in suspense, not knowing the outcome. If any such person tries to accuse us of our votes of being cliffhangers, may I suggest a certain line: "Everybody knows I don't use cliffhangers " Now get out and exercise your democratic right to vote for your King :king: . Now, now Sacha. Notice I didn't public declare what my vote was. We don't want to be influcing others by how we voted . -

And to help in the interest to really make things clear, I just casted my vote (which shall remain unknown ), and I happened to notice one major thing!!! The vote is only for the King of Cliffhangers. So I guess this means hypothetically that if you CJ, win this title, that this poll would have to the deciding forum on who is The Queen of Cliffhangers as well. Well let's hope it is a sweep for the Monarchy . Steve -

Is CJames The Queen Of The Evilest Clifhangers
wildone replied to wildone's topic in C James Fan Club's Topics
With 90.7% of the voters agreeing that CJ is :king: :king: The Queen of Evilest Cliffhangers :king: :king: It seems that CJ has finally come on board. If we look in this forum we can see that CJ has finally started to come around to the thinking of the majority of his readers. In the forum, CJ admits that Saul has stuffed and mounted him upon the wall of his bagel shop in Shadowgod's Dreams and Clipped Wings. So if CJ says that this is possible, we have to also interpret that Saul did shoot him as he was glaring down off the edge of a cliff. I guess that means that CJ does actually hang out on cliffs. It is good that we can finally put this issue to bed . Steve -
Let The Music Play CH 24: Checkout Time

Hey Ty , Let me be the first to welcome you. It is great to see a new face in here to try and guess the outcome of CJ's web of clues, some false, some not. The main reason that I'm replying is that you brought up a point that some others have brought up as well. That being the use of 'they' in the text. For some reason, maybe I just like to be different , I didn't take the word 'they' as being plural. Back when this was brought up, I didn't really look into it, but thought I should do it now. This is what I found in Wiktionary about the word 'they': -
Oooh, I like that one, The King of Evocative Descriptions, but I think Shadowgod will have to have some input into this . CJ, I sometimes wonder if you should post ? This new "It's All About Me" attitude seems to be evolving out of some of your other nasty characteristics. Denial, misleading, misrepresentation, and not accepting responsibility added to this new trait, they just don't put you in a great light . I think that an author of the great skill of Shadowgod would use his skills in describing a room, much like the way he did the pizza parlour in LiS. Next you may claim that the pizza parlour was reference from the restaurant that Veronica worked in in FTL. As far as the magazine goes, I think I can recall of many magazines with half naked guys on them soaking wet. I imagine Shadowgod used Rolling Stones as he likes to keep his stories somewhat clean for readers of all ages. But, unfortunately I think this won't dissuade you from trying to put all four hooves in your mouth. Really CJ, Shame on you!!!!

Remember though this was really the first time we have experienced Joe from Joe's point of view. Almost of everything we have heard of him has been other's 'opinion' of him. Worse of all, J/S's opinion of him seems to be the worst. Although Joe's body would have been found dead by the hotel manager when checkout time came, how long would it be to identify his body? From the scene, it appears that Joe's body is so malnurished and potch marked that even Joe didn't recognize himself! How many John Does are taken out of the seedy parts of major cities on a daily basis and just disposed of without police investigation, or tracking down of any possible family? I think a certain goat has only given us enough information to lead us down the wrong path.....AGAIN!!! Steve -

I'm going to throw out a wild idea here: Remember Mario was being hired for four times the normal rate to make something look like a accident to someone famous back in the states? Now J/S is trying to wrap any loose ends before they become a problem. Really, until J/S got the scooter to the compound and discovered someone had tampered with the screws, he really didn't have a reason to off the members of Instinct or implied that he had reason to. However, Joe being his son, he may be privileged to some information about his daddies' other line of work. Now he was about to have what some might consider a accident by committing suicide while high on speed, meth, and heroine. I do believe the Joe's problem was with alcohol, and other then J/S, nobody had mentioned drugs. Could Mario have deceptively got Joe hooked and knew the effects of the three drugs would have on someone? I do believe (never tried) meth can be very addictive on the first try. What better cover than a drug induced suicide for a cover for the offing of his own son? Maybe it is a redeeming quality of poor misunderstood J/S, that he is willing to pay four times the normal amount to off his son than he would for a stranger. Only the best for his family . Steve -
(Belated) Happy India Day BK!! Hopefully some day I get the chance to visit your great country. Steve And also to any other GA member from India as well.

Happy Australia Day!!! After reading this entry here and realizing that we are probably too late for 2008, we should nominate Graeme for 'Australian of The Year' for 2009 Hope you all enjoy the weekend. Steve

And it showed at 6:51 am for me, so minus two hours for the EST zone and viola....4:51 am.

Well Bao, I'm not a doctor, and would strongly suggest you see one, but I don't know if medication is needed in all cases. Let's say a friend of mine, ya, a friend is a diabetic. When you mix high sugar content in urine if the blood sugar is high, and you mix in saliva, things tend to grow. So if the infection could be anywhere the two could have possibly met... Last I heard was no medication is necessary other than to treat the high blood sugar. But that is in only that one specific case, so once again, I would suggest seeing a doctor before checking out any medication, or propaganda from the drug companies. Steve PS, one more example of what safe sex can help prevent

But..But...But Can't you believe in someone redeeming themselves? Me being Canadian, I have to believe that people can be rehabilitated (if the government thinks so, then it must be true ). And far as the snippet that we got of what he is up to now, last time I checked, being a tele-evangelist wasn't illegal (although this opinion may be not too popular). Lastly, as a member of SPICE, need I remind you of his name? I just think that CJ maybe didn't cast him in the proper light in the story . Just another poor misunderstood Eric I say. Steve
-
I still can't believe the negative feelings towards the hero of the story Yes, Eric was probably looking at things sometimes in a selfish way, but what teenager doesn't and can be realistic? I think there was a lot of good in Eric, you just had to look for them in the right places. But I know I'll never change anyone's opinion on poor misunderstood Eric . He still is, always was, and always will be my hero in FTL. Steve
-
I guess just be thankful that I don't write, or you could have a forum just dedicated to my screw ups And in case you didn't know, insert Brandon for Chase in that sentence. I was thinking about that too. Obviously J/S needed to get the scooter into Australia with as little attention as possible. I imagine he could have easily had bought one there though. Since I don't know anything about Kryton switches I wouldn't know if they would be sensitive to x-rays, as the scooter was the only inanimate thing to not go through the scanner at the airport. But I wonder if the average security guard watching a baggage scanner would notice the switches for what they were. After all Brandon even thought they were possibly part of the circuitry until he noticed they were not connected. Also, didn't J/S mention that was how he got the previous switches into the country? Steve

Jan, I think Mike is just judging CJ by the same standards that CJ judges others . After all, according to CJ's reasoning the Little Miss Muffet nursery rhyme ended in a cliffhanger ! Great chapter CJ, I laughed a lot reading it. It was a good humourous chapter that reminded me of some of the earlier ones like when Chase was guessing which of the brothers were gay. From the practical jokes to the stuffed kangaroo, it was a good read. One question about Jerry/The Scar (referred to from now on a J/S)? J/S's interaction with Dimitri about his true identity kinda interested me. We know his son is Joe Lump, so logically his real name is Jerry Lump. But quiet often Jerry uses the endearment 'dear' when talking in his Jerry personae. Things like 'dear lady' or 'dear boy'. When I usually hear that, I'm inclined to think of the British? Is J/S actually British and not from Idaho? I think this may have been a clue into the future as well. Thanks again CJ . Steve Edit: Original nursery rhyme kinda did end in cliffhanger
-
Well let's just face the facts CJ....The numbers are against you!!! Let's just hypothetically say that 1 out of every 2 chapters that you post in your serials ends in a cliffhanger. Sometimes it is 2 out of 2, sometimes it is 1 out of 3, so we'll just average out with 1 out of 2. This means between FTL and LTMP, you have a combined total of 60 chapters. Thus meaning you have on average left your readers hanging 30 times. Now even the most gullible of souls would never say that Shadowgod would use cliffhangers at the rate of 50%. But for the sake of argument, let's say that in some strange universe (that you may actually be part of) that he did (sorry Steve, just making a point here ). He has a combined total of 34 chapters between SoB, LiS, and DCW of 34 chapters. Using the same rate, it meant he has left us hypothetically hanging 17 times. This means you leave your readers hanging nearly twice as much as Shadowgod . The numbers don't lie. Steve

One of the first 'gay themed' movies I saw was Torch Song Trilogy. If I were to give it a one sentence review it would be : A story about a New York Drag Queen who wants more in life than one night stands and finds love a few times, loses it, but ends up happy and fulfilled in the end. Since it was the first one I saw, I guess it left a lasting impression. It was made back in the late eighties, based on a Broadway play. The movie isn't as 'crisp' as todays movies, but I think it was well done. It also is a bit of an emotional rollarcoaster, but all life's journey's are in one way or another. Right? Steve
