Huh?? I assume that your referring to moi in this comment . If I am indeed in need of a public embarassment, then please go ahead. I like them as much as the next guy . But can you enlighten me on what I said?? Now as far as the cliffhanger.....This could be the MOTHER OF ALL CLIFFHANGERS!!!! Go back and read...please! Okay, so we have Dimitri nearly peeing his pants when he sees the paparazzi pictures, and also Barbara too. Do you remeber this: So if the paparazzi guy was taking low level shots of them under the container truck, I would say he has some shots of Brandon going under the Land Rover and probably coming out with it in his hand!!! When J/S finds out this, he is sooo going to regret not offing them in the trailer with the road boss.

Hmm, just realize I didn't comment on how I voted. Silly me . I voted that Vladimir will survive. I just don't see CJ killing off any of his main characters, and since the bomb assembly started, I would hardly consider him a minor character. As far as the comments in 29 between J/S and Dimitri, I have a funny feeling this could be a 'I know that you know that I know that you know that I know about you know' I wouldn't be surprise to see Vlad totally screw up their plans to off him. As far as Dimitri surviving, all I will say is I believe him and J/S will live to be a ripe old age in a nice place like Guantanamo Bay . If they don't suffer from radiation burns from their test, they should be able to work on a nice tan. Steve

Isn't he a lawyer? Need I say more

I just got to thinking about the timeline here. J/S referd to needing Mario in a few weeks. Myself, I always interpret the word few with a couple. Now that statement was made before J/S met up with the band in Rome. From Rome they went to Australia if I recall. Now I also believe that the Shadows were going to be in busy for about a week before re hooking up with Instinct in Australia. So they have completed their first concert in Australia and took a couple of days off at least, remember the logistics involved in getting to Brisbane, and now have done two concerts in Brisbane. Now they are off to Sydney I believe, and then are they not returning to the resort with The Shadows for a while? There has been no mention of J/S getting in contact with Mario, so is this a clue that their target isn't one of the bands? Steve
-
When I look back at the encounter, I believe that J/S was actually having fun in his role of Jerry the homosexual. He was trying hard (maybe too hard) to impress the band and make them trust him even though Joe was his offspring, and definitely was a major pain in the a$ to everyone. Also, now that we know that Jerry and The Scar are the same person, we have seen the Scar's lack of patience especially with Vladimir. So we have Jerry trying to be all impressive, and all of a sudden a nobody in J/S's opinion seems to know as much or more than him. I believe a bit of his real personality slipped out. I guess another time he kinda slipped was at the resort when he kinda slamed the Range Rover's door in everyones face and didn't take the time to introduce Dimitri. So, how did Gunter know such much about Rome is one question, which could be answered by him working for INTERPOL or the CIA. He would have the international experience most likely. And even though we all understand that J/S is really just misunderstood , he does have a nasty habit of of losing patience fairly quickly. Oh well, he is only human after all. Steve

Well hopefully my whole post about principle and principal wasn't construed as pointing out an error. After all that was posted, and mentioned by you, your were right . More so, Graeme wanted a serious discussion before Silly Season kicked in (which usually doesn't start till the weekend), so I thought I would float my opinion of just how does Gunter really look at the guys. I believe he has more interest in their well being than his own professional reputation as a security guard for hire. Also that wording of that paragraph I thought could support my idea. I know CJ won't comment on my speculation, so we will have to wait to see if I'm in an alternate universe again . Now another question for everyone. Joe made a appearance where he actually talked for the first time since what, the fourth or fifth chapter? Now in the previous chapter we had Gunter talk personally for the first time, and we were rewarded with a much more in depth look at him in this one. Will the same hold out for Joe in 30? Now Phil asked Joe to either tell him his name or at least why he won't tell him his name. Joe replied:
-
Diet Coke with Lime. I'm addicted I'd hate to say. And you've got to watch out for your girlish figure Steve
-
CIA, FBI, Secret Service, Homeland Securtiy, INTERPOL? Don't mind me, I'm just thinking out loud .

First off, Great Chapter CJ . I too was a little disturbed by the poor enchidna being manhandled by Eric. Maybe Helen should have thrown (okay, change that to 'gently placed') the Echidna into bed with the naked Eric and the two girls and seen what happened. I'm sure Graeme would have enjoyed a peek , even if Helen didn't. So I have a question. In this passage when Gunter and Brandon were having their little chat:
-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAN !!!! Hopefully the eighth celebration of your 29th Birthday is great . Just think, only one year until your 30. Seriously I hope you get what you always wanted, and that it comes somewhat close to what you give all of us every time you post a chapter for us. Enjoy!!! Steve

The more I think about it, I think you've got it right  . Bondwriter, please accept my sincere apologies . And if by chance you have dispatched any of your associates to my general area, could you please call them off. Thanks, Steve
-
Nah, I knew that . I was just seeing if I could rile Bondwriter up a little. We kinda had fun back and forth when FTL was being posted. I was kinda Eric's biggest fan (with maybe the exception of CJ) and he didn't quite see it that way. It was sort of like you and Sacha's debate on if CJ uses cliffs (which we all know you are 100% correct) So, there is only a couple of hours till the new chapter is posted. So I'm going to throw out my predictions. With the relaxation days coming up, I believe that the Shadows won't know about the ban on Tequila for Eric and they will somehow unknowingly procure some for him. This will lead to a whole other situation when he drunkenly outs Steve and Wilde to his band mates and Zeke. J/S will finalize plans with Dimitri to off Vladimir. At the same time, Vlad will reveal that he knows this and how he plans to sneak off in the night with retirement funds, and all of a sudden J/S and Dimitri will have to change their plans once again to take care of this. Joe will be in the rehab centre, and will still maintain is anonymity. He will however give us some insight into dear old dad's past. And finally, I think we will learn some more about Gunter and realize that he is not just the security guard that everyone believes. See, I don't hope for too much, do I? Steve

I'll admit that five years ago and more, I downloaded music free. I used all the arguments given above to justify it, and really didn't lose any sleep over it. Then, I don't know why, I went to Itunes and downloaded a song, for the obscene price of 99 cents. For some reason, from then on, I've never downloaded any music that I haven't paid for. The funny thing is that I really can't say why I do that now, other than it just seems the right thing to do. Think about it, 99 cents!!! Is a buck that much for a song that you will be able to listen to over and over? What I do really, really, really have a problem with is mentioned in your opening post though Tristan. You allude to a levy that everybody pays that goes into a fund for the artists. What a load of SH*T!!! First off, why should I pay a tax (really it is a tax) based on the fact that I may download something illegally, which I don't. Maybe I should just go to my local jail and check in cause who knows, maybe someday I might commit a serious crime. Second, all this fund will do is enable people who should probably go out and get a real job, and music actually wouldn't sell a single copy if there was no way to illegally download it, continue to leech off of the state. Who is going to administer this fund? Technically, it should be paid out based on percentages of the legal market right? If Band X is selling 2% of national sales, then they should really get 2% of the fund. You know, and I know, it won't work, Band X won't really care about their share of the fund, but I can guarantee Joe "I couldn't carry a tune for my life" would be lining up for the cash weekly. If a band or artist can not honestly make it with the illegal file sharing, then probably it is a good enough indication that they shouldn't be trying in the first place. Well, I'm worked up now. Just please don't tell me to pay for the activities of others. Since I take this stance, I am in the favour of going after the sites that offer P2P, after all they are the ones facilitating the illegal activity. I believe it is the responsibility of the site owner to ensure that illegal activity does not go on.

I loved the story about the hairy boob man. Reminded me of a joke: A man walks into his doctors office and tells the doctor he has a problem done there, embarrassingly. The doctor asks down where? He says it is his penis. The doctor then asks to see it. The guy drops his pants and shorts, and the doctor sees his penis is a odd colour of orange. He then puts on some gloves and does an examine, takes some samples for testing and sends him to the lab for some blood and urine work. The next day the guy comes and sees the doctor again. The doctor is in a pretty good mood and tells him he knows what is wrong, and it is nothing serious. Relieved, the guy asks what's wrong. The doctor asks him first if he likes to watch porn. The guy is surprised, but figures he has to be honest. He tells the doctor yes he does. And then a grin breaks out on the doctors face and asks, do you like to eat Cheetos when watching porn? Hopefully you will get a smile across your face every time that you see Hairy Boob Man . Steve PS Great to hear that Jonathan is the type of person you expected him to be. It just shows your a great judge of character, and you know who to trust. And in case he is popping into your blog...Welcome Jonathan!!!

So it's been nearly two months since CJ gave us that little conversation between J/S and Mario. Has anyone changed their opinion of who is going to be offed? Or was this something that CJ put in the story to just lead us off track? Maybe Mario has been busy and made an attempt and we just don't know it yet. Steve
-
Sure, I'll take a stab at these serious questions . Even though they are not the same character, I will compare the Erics in FTL and LTMP. Both Erics are both straight and may have some minor character flaws which only makes them more human. I don't really see CJ offending the straight readers, as I'm sure as new Eric will be as much as a hero as old Eric by the end of the story . I don't think there is a chance of new Eric becoming a drunk, much the same way I felt old Eric wouldn't become a drug addict. Actually the more I think about, the more I wonder if CJ may have actually created both characters from the same mold. Possibly their beginnings are different, but their final presentation should be about the same. As far as Dimitri (Dmitry Medvedev) and Vladimir (Vladimir Putin) goes, it wouldn't really surprise me if CJ knew this all along and was waiting for someone to notice. CJ has a way of weaving in real names into the story without most of us knowing. For all the evil, mean, nasty things that we can expect from our goat friend, one thing is that he is full of surprises. So Bondwriter, any comment about both Eric's being the Heros of their respective stories ? Steve

Should be fixed now. Thanks

Tonight I was watching TV, and caught a clip of a segment that aired today on The Ellen Show. I had not heard of this in any media up till now. http://youtube.com/watch?v=QcMEL3_YsVI Not only am I shocked, but I'm also a little confused on why the national media has not picked up on it. Or maybe they have, and I haven't seen anything. I'm glad that Ellen decided to speak up on this issue, but in a way it saddens me that it took a gay person to bring it up. What do you think? Steve
-
Darn you Steve, you would post that right before my last post . So much for trying to convince someone that I maybe had some secret power or something .
-
Oh, I'm not making up anything, if you want to confirm, get a peice of paper and start at post #1. Don't worry, there is only 1637 posts to go through . I'm sure you'll come up with the exact same numbers. As far as the server not found, I can't link everyones profile in the post, so just focus on the name and the number after it . It does prove that CJ isn't quite the lurker he claims . Steve

Actually Bondwriter is a excellent one with numbers, you'd be amazed at what he can look at and deduce at a seconds notice . He actually taught me some of his secret ways, for example in the FTL thread....wait this may take a minute or two, a bit more...okay, here is the posts: Who posted in: For The Love Poster Posts C James 417 Bondwriter 198 Graeme 189 Jack Frost 139 shadowgod 111 EMoe57 89 Conner 69 TalonRider 66 Jack Scribe 44 wildone 38 Bob D. 38 Ieshwar 38 old bob 32 Benji 27 DarkShadow 18 TL The Writing Tiger 16 L0st Cause 14 Xiao_Chun 14 captainrick 14 FrenchCanadian 13 ethan thorn 10 BeaStKid 7 Altimexis 6 YaP 5 knotme 4 Ephialtes 3 Matthew 3 Trevor 2 jfalkon 2 Low Flyer 2 kojaky 2 Red_A 1 Krista 1 Endless Skies 1 Andy 1 sungod 1 Kurt 1 Camy 1 Max03 1 It's really not that hard once you get the hang of it

I thought it was a unanimous decision that Eric in FTL was the hero of the story Steve (at least in my mind he was )

Hmmm, so it is still deadlocked. I'm open for bribes since I haven't casted my vote yet

Happy Birthday Jack!!! Hopefully all your wishes come true. Especially if one of them is to become a Canadian citizen. We'd love to have you. All the best in the year to come. Steve

Would you have sex with someone who was HIV positive?
wildone replied to Menzoberranzen's topic in The Lounge
Dang Kevin, this is the first time I've seen a 'cliffhanger' in a forum . I wonder how long we will have to wait for the answer to it? Guys, if I can interject here, I love that maybe my post has stirred up some emotion, as I think we all need to express how we really feel on what I consider a very important subject. I understand where both Tristan and Kevin are coming from. I agree with a lot of what each of you said, and maybe I don't agree with some of the things said either. I also believe that we need to question each others so we can continue on the discussion, and bring in others opinions when we have the clarification of those questions. Here's maybe even a bit of precursor to my previous post. I still remember the first day that I encountered someone who was HIV positive. I had detained a customer for shoplifting in my store. I still recall how thin, and pale, and dejected the guy looked. I took him to a back office where I had to read him his constitutional rights (yes, we have to do that here in Canada too). When I asked him if he wanted to call a lawyer, he said yes. Luckily one of our plain clothed loss prevention officers had just arrived in the store, so I explained to him I had caught him leaving the store with unpaid merchandise, had called the police and read him his rights, and now he wanted to call his lawyer. Since I had never had anyone make this request, I asked the LPO what to do. He took over and first cautioned him (abbreviated reading of rights of a secondary person arriving) and told him he had to search him before he could use the phone. The guy agreed and when he was asked to empty his pockets, he pulled out several needles and pieces of tin foil and toilet paper. The LPO asked him to show him his forearms, and they were covered with track marks. He then asked him if he was HIV positive and the guy could barely nod his head. I bolted. It was probably one of the most scariest things in my life that I had heard or seen. I ran into the washroom and started scrubbing my hands with soap and recalling everywhere I had touched him, how close was I to him, did he breath on me????? Probably after scrubbing for fifteen minutes, and contemplating my own demise, I came out and saw the LPO and police officer escorting him out handcuffed and everyone wearing rubber gloves. I even went so far as to call my doctors office to see if I could be tested. When I actually recalled where I had actually touched him, it was only on the upper arm which was covered with a shirt and coat. Looking back at this reaction now, I know I was scared for my life. It was my first encounter with a deadly disease that really only the media had taught me anything about. I would imagine many people would still react the same way if they only had the partial information that I had. After a visit with my doctor, and his assurance that I didn't need any testing, I began to calm down. My doctor actually started to explaining the disease to me from a medical point of view. He also encouraged me to do research myself on it, as I would most likely encounter more people who are affected by the disease in the future. So I did. Anything to do with HIV/AIDs that I could find, I read. I would read a story in the newspaper and actually try to pick apart the non factual statements in it. I will even say I became comfortable with the knowledge I had gained. So how did I react when I heard the bf tell me he was HIV positive? I started asking questions. Ones like how long? Are you receiving treatment? Are you in a infectious cycle (involves t cell counts)? How did you get it? He answered everything honestly and openly. He is still surprised that I didn't bolt. But when I started asking questions, he knew that if there was a chance, he had to be honest. The point being....learn about the disease, but also learn about the person. Dang, I've really got to cut down the lengths of my posts. Steve
