How are things in Albertville?

There's something very comforting about being in your own home, with kitties curled around, a full fridge and pantry, belly full of good food, and catching up with old friends while a winter storm approaches. Now all I need is a snow day.

I had an awesome visit with my friend yesterday We chatted pretty much non-stop from the moment I got there until like 11:00 pm. She made shrimp scampi and added fresh spinach to it. We also had salad from her sunroom garden, broccoli, and sparkling wine. Oh and garlic bread to sop up the extra sauce. It was soooo good. I also got to check out her new bathroom. OMG this thing is incredible! It could be featured in a spa or high-end hotel. Heated floors, huge walk-in shower with two showerheads, a deep jacuzzi tub, and huge windows looking out into the forest. Absolutely stunning.

Tomorrow is my non-internet day at work, then I'm spending the night with a good friend of mine and she doesn't have wifi, so I won't be online at all tomorrow. I'm feeling the withdrawal pangs already! My friend and I are having our annual girls' night She lives right around the corner from where I work, so it will be nice to have a five minute commute vs over a half hour. She's going to make shrimp scampi and we'll drink wine and chat all night and watch movies. She's done a lot of house renovations too, so I get to see all the changes she's made to her house

I've made a really good skillet lasagna. It was just as tasty as the traditional form but took a lot less time and effort to cook.

I wish the Chinese place I order from had sweet and sour pork. They only have chicken and shrimp. I made cilantro lime chicken thighs with roasted broccoli with garlic, fresh lemon, olive oil, and parmesan.

When I was a kid, our Sunday treat after church was a trip to the local donut shop. DD and TH or KK don't come anywhere close to our local donut shops.

I got up early today and went grocery shopping. So I now have a nicely stocked fridge and pantry I stopped at DD on the way home and got a brekkie sandwich and coffee. I also got a caramel chocoholic donut. 🤤 My mom is coming over later this morning and we're going to hang my brand-new curtains

Are you sure you didn't have them on backwards? I totally relate to having issues with finding pants that fit right. I have short legs, so I need to buy petite pants, but that means the waist size is usually wrong. So I can either have comfortable pants and step all over the legs, or the length is right, but the waist is either too tight or falling off me.

Here we have Mighty Taco. There's new place that opened up near one of my work sites, and they make California style tacos. They're very good and the food is fresh and made to order, so much better than either Mighty or Taco Bell.
