This is great news to wake up to! This was the first story I've written in over a year, and I was super proud of it. It's also a highly personal piece. Thank you to @Cia for all her hard work running this contest. And thank you to all who read, reviewed, commented, and voted for my story. This was a highly competitive contest with many amazing stories. Congratulations to the top three! Well done to everyone!
Gills and flippers? Just what we need... a mutant otter I wonder if Pepsi will cure him? It's been the opposite here. Hot and drrryyyyyyy. We actually had a soaking rain last week that did nothing for my brown lawn. I feel like I'm living in the south with the heat and humidity. We also had a week of poor air quality due to smoke from the Canadian wildfires. Thankfully, it's finally getting better. I can't wait for cooler temps, but that's not happening for over a week, when we'll finally get down into the low 80s.
Cia, you are an absolute rock star! Best wishes for a speedy recovery for your husband
Is the poll going to close now that the author list is revealed?
I love seeing the diverse names on the author list. There's quite a few I am not familiar with. Looks like it's time to explore some new authors!
Wow, that sounds like an amazing trip! Those will be great memories for your nephews I don't have any summer travel plans, but I'm hoping to get chosen for an event in Toronto in October.
Noooooooo not the cat! Bad Kyle! Kyle totally gives of narcissist/sociopath/psychopath vibes. He doesn't care about anyone except himself. People exist just to fill his needs, despite what he says about Oliver. Poor Oliver when he rejects Kyle. This will not end well for him I think I might know who wrote this.
I wrote a story about an Escape room for one of the anthos ages ago. Based on that story and this story, I will consider it very carefully if ever asked to go to one The creep factor here was off the charts. Just looking a beach gives me the heebie-jeebies. I really felt the tension and did not expect the twist at the end. Well done, SA!
It's a difficult road sometimes to live life as our authentic selves, and realizing that we only have ourselves to rely on when people betray us. Although Tim has Nanna in his corner, which is awesome. Hopefully Thet will live up to his name at some point in his life. And I totally groaned at the pun.
Oh wow. This story was quite the gut-punch. I can't imagine living your whole life with the guilt of knowing you caused your little brother's death, even if it was accidental. I loved how Phineas became Markus' guardian angel, and I imagine he disappeared at the end because he was escorting Harold home. Well done, SA.
I'm with Luca on the motion sickness. All I have to do is look at a boat and I'll puke I'm glad they were able to reveal their true feelings for each other. I really hope they make it to shore.
