May I just add a note - “it’s” with apostrophe nearly always means “it is” - if it belongs ( the clock adds its own voice) it doesn’t need the apostrophe.
So well written - it’s a pity to spoil the story with a careless grammatical error.
Wonderful story - please remember to check apostrophes - eg “dads” - most “s” are normal plurals - don’t need apostrophes - “it’s” always means it is . Careless use of apostrophes just spoils the story. Sorry to be picky!!
