So many philosophies try to answer the basic question you have posed: what happens at the end of this life? End, beginning of another, reincarnation, resurrection to a new form, lights out.... Thanks for your question and possibility... the journey either ends or continues in another form. Guess we'll all find out at some point!

This is a wonderful story about a man with the ability to see auras around people which can tell him whether they are well, sick, lying, or in danger. He uses this knowledge in ways that are "inappropriate" when he is young to majorly assisting him in his work as a lawyer/politician. Additionally, his talents lead him to unexpected jobs with interesting consequences. Lee Wilson's ability to weave an interesting and gripping tale will keep an reader looking forward to the next paragraph, let alone a sequel.

@empath says: I think I could spend 10 more chapters digging into the characters, telling how they got here and setting the stage for where they are going. I won’t though (one more chapter should get us through [the day] I think). I certainly wouldn't mind an additional 10 chapters! This story is so riveting! Would that parental love would be so open to change! What a world of difference it would make for children! Imagine, parents loving children for who they are rather than who they have envisioned them to be! Of course, that would also require parents to encourage and promote ethical and moral personal and social mores!

I can believe that Jackie truly had no real love for either Ludo or Damian - maybe "warm feelings" at best. Her first love is herself and what she feels she deserves from life. Ludo is truly a victim but a superb parent! His interaction with Damian is always based on truth, trust, and respect in regards to Damian's age. That will always serve him well in their relationship. Arthur is a great partner. That they can discuss openly their past relationships and history without judgment is only serving to build a solid relationship. The local police are doing their job, but seem inadequate with technology. This could lead to false conclusions. Again, masterful writing! I agree with @damejintymcginty - another 200 chapters would be a good start, lol!

Wonderful chapter...there was a whole section of statements made by Mr. Cicero that should have been objected to as "having no foundation" but still made for good courtroom drama with the appropriate ending.

Wow, wow, wow! Powerful chapter...my anxiety level went up ten-fold! I can't even imagine a time when the defense budget would be so slim as to not be able to counter such an invasion (even in an idealistic situation). How long till the next chapter?

It has taken time for Ralph to stand up for himself, but he did so respectfully and solidly. His father did listen to his wife in determining whether to help Nolan and Verne with pointers. Perhaps they will slowly come around eventually (though doubtful) and accept Ralph, Nolan and the girls for who they are.- 20 comments

I agree with @CincyKris: Jackie was a sham! She used the marriage and her child as a cover for her own focus on herself. That totally fits in with her comment that Ludo ruined it all by finding himself via Arthur. As for the police - they always want to look closely at those who are closest to a perpetrator or victim of a crime - the spouse and family, close friends. Just wondering if Dl Donaldson is a bit homophobic and looks down on Ludo! He wants to see something that is not there, perhaps making it easier to solve the crime. Let me see -- he was AG in approximately 1987 or so. I am not aware that dash cams and teens with cell phones were happening then (then again, I might well have just been totally oblivious of these at that time)... Nonetheless, a wonderful story where Avery is using his talent for the good.

@ReaderPaul I also grew up in a valley and the only way to get TV was to get cable, where we got 3 channels. We thought we had arrived when we got our first TV when I was 7 years old. @Lee Wilson, you would have been the envy of our whole city with that many channels! You must have lived in the "big city"...

Whether the new Kathy Bates’ version of Matlock or a Perry Mason moment, this style of courtroom drama is always exciting. Another good chapter!

Just a reinforcement of my initial comment in Chapter 1: Damian (and Ludo, it appears) were nothing more than charms on her bracelet! I do believe @Cane23 is on to something in using them as a cover for a vacation... Great writing continues, @Robert Hugill!

Just wondering -- are the colors and their significance invented by you, @Lee Wilson, or supplied by research? My friend who saw auras said that bright blue indicated a person at peace and happy in life.

The banter between @Summerabbacat and @Cane23 have been delightful! I hope Norman doesn't actually consider about solving the problem "terminally"! Ralph's parents are, unfortunately, very typical of people in their social circles - and those attitudes are still very much alive today. Go Ralph and Nolan! Perhaps the girls will end up living with them and only occasionally visit Therese! -
Dexter is indeed psychotic! I am looking forward to his exposure and the justice which follows!

As a resident of Orlando, FL, I would say you certainly did your homework on the theme parks! Thank you, @Lee Wilson for this follow-up to The Boy on the Porch. As is always the case with a good story, I will miss these characters as they have become "real" for me.
