Once again, another beautiful chapter, and a wonderful end. Honestly, I prefer to socialize online more than in real life. Even those I have known for years know that people drain my energy so I make it a point to socialize very little. An occasional party or gathering, I'm good for at least a couple of hours, anymore than that and I become increasingly sarcastic and cranky. With my online friends it is like the screen is a barrier that keeps emotional energies separate and I am able to cope better. Not sure if that makes sense, but it works for me. Stay blessed and highly favored y'all and Merry Christmas.

If I remember I'll take some pics and the recipe and share it. First time I've made this particular recipe though, so it's experimental at this time (co-workers are the guinea pigs ) And thank you, Cole, and Aditus for taking me on this journey. It has truly been a pleasure learning bits about y'all.

Okay, so I had to read "Igneous" before this and was enthralled. Curse you Val, I'm supposed to be focused while making my hot cocoa mix for coworkers. 😂 Upon reading this I have decided that Hagan sounds like the perfect future ex-husband since it would definitely be a battle of wills between us. Excellent work Val and a nice way to cap off your contributions to this collaboration.

Well written @Valkyrie. Kinda hard to maintain the image of an unemotional badass though with puffy tear-stained eyes. Might never live it down. 😂 Will try the Brussels even though I'm not fond of them.

Being an Okie I can never have too many chili recipes and this one sounds beyond delicious. As for the story, very well done Val. I feel for Finn as I suffer from migraines as well thankfully they have receded to where they are occasional instead of often. I did internally giggle at the names of Adam and Eva and you can never go wrong with the grandmotherly type waitress. There is a restaurant chain called Grandy's. in the 80s and early 90s they had grannies that would come around to the table to make sure you had everything you need. Sadly, they did away with the grannies and it hasn't been the same since.

That sounds like something any good brother would do. 😂 I'm the youngest of four and there is 7 years separating me from the next youngest. So I am well aware of what siblings can do to each other. At the age of 5, mine told me that he shot Bambi and the meat was in grandpa's freezer. Good times.

I agree about some of them pushing meds. I was on one that has no generic and the price blew my mind once I learned what it was. I was paying 40/month through a program but the actual price was closer to 700/month. I'm down to just three meds now and thankfully haven't had any of the side effects to deal with. Hopefully, I'll be off all meds within a year.

I'm cursed as my doctor is actually very physically fit so I kinda have to take him seriously. The fact that he's hot makes me feel like I'm back in high school trying to impress my crush. 😂

I was diagnosed in February with an A1C of 12.9. I made drastic lifestyle changes but for the most part haven't changed my diet. Just the portions (which are much more manageable), and cut out soda completely. My A1C dropped to 6.2 in just six months and I am no longer taking insulin. Woohoo!!! This story is accurate in what many feel on so many levels. For me, it was a I knew this was coming so I dealt with it and have with great success. I wish others to experience success as well. Honestly though, no matter what my doc says, I'm not giving up my chocolate shakes from Braum's. lol. Definitely gonna try these cookies. If I tell my family they are healthy, they might leave them alone. 😂 Kudos on another excellent story Val.

I understand his plight as I used to be a bus rider in OKC. I always had to deal with the "Bus Stop Confessionals." Something about me just makes people want to pour out their life stories (mostly tragedy) to me. I call it my "universal ear," and it is both blessing and curse. More often than not the rides were quiet or I met the most weirdly lovable people. These cookies sound delicious, definitely gonna try them out. Kudos on another excellent story.

Okay, y'all done got my salivary glands going into overdrive now. 😂 Excellent story, almost had my eyes showering themselves. I am glad to have the relationship with my mail carrier that I do. Doesn't hurt that my store is right next door to the post office either. It is the actions of people like this that make small town living worthwhile. And that is coming from a country mouse that was raised a city rat. Kudos.
