  1. So... you think we could get any money for Drew's rusty tin crown? No real jewels on it... just ones he 'drew' with a magic marker.
  2. Oh goody... Mancunian is a smartass too!
  3. And they are tiny little britches.
  4. A wonderful poetic narrative that reminds us who we once were and who we still can be. Bill has touched on something important, so do yourself a favor and go back in time. Read this!

    Chapter 1

Who are we without our imaginations? How do we decide what road to travel, what makes us tick, or what holds our interest? We learn so much through escaping into fantastical worlds... and sometimes it is the only place we can feel truly safe. We can feel powerful, be heroes, control outcomes... it is empowering. I adored this poetic offering, Bill. We all have to grow up, but it doesn't mean we can't let our child's minds free every once in a while. I travelled this poem, and I battled demons and saved worlds along with you. Thanks for taking me back in time. We, you and I, and other authors, are all these things. We create characters and we give them adventures, and we make the world a better place, even if just for the time it takes a reader to consume a few pages. I am a doctor, I am a cowboy, I am Santa Claus...heck, I am even a wolf... and I wouldn't have it any other way. Just beautiful, and I thank you for the inspiration you provide. Cheers! Gary.
  6. Truly remarkable stuff, this collection. Parker's poetry most always touches on universal themes we can all connect with, and these are some of his very best. I thank him for the sweet emotion he stirred in me. Cheers!

    Old Coats

Oh my goodness, Parker. Wool plaid brought big tears as it unfolded, and just when I had a grip, red parka brought more waterworks. Everyone of these is a gem... old leather could have been the air force jacket my stepfather cherished... given to him by his best friend's mother after his passing (It was too small for him, but he wouldn't let me have it... pissed me off, but really, I understood) ... the funeral raincoat with the crumpled tissues... that combination so expressive, so gut wrenching... images of white tailed deer and the bright orange of autumn... remarkable. I tried the skyscraper form for the first time recently, but you are its master without a doubt. I have old coats I can't seem to let go of. I say to myself they all still fit me, but maybe it is the memories I hold onto. I even have a tweed I bought at a thrift store when me and a friend were shopping for something to wear to a 'tea' party. I feel smart, like a professor in it. Haven't worn it years, but still it hangs there. Each one spoke to me, and no offense to any other poet, but this has to be my favorite collection. I find it so easy to connect to your poetry. Cheers.
  8. Perfect evening weather now. No humidity, no bugs, and the air smells like spring. My DIL and her sisters are sitting out on the back lawn with Cookie, who is on cloud nine with all the attention she's getting.
  9. You are a big meanie! Wait, no... you're a little weenie.
  10. No that's what you want to do to Spikeman's thingy.
  11. Also got my covid bivalent booster today... my sixth shot. Absolutely no side effects. I shopped my head off after getting it.
  12. I think I found the right stain color to blend my new pine flooring into the old. I'll do a test in a day or two, but I already had it mixed at the store. Fingers crossed.
  13. A little wet is okay.
  14. Another hot day here. My mare seems better. Have a great one, my friends.
  15. Great minds and all that. Hey, brother B.
  16. Your target is the little hairy, hobbit-footed tyrant.

    Dishes & Snacks

The soup was simple and meaty, but a delicious delight. Still a lot left.
  18. Inspirational stuff, honest and uplifting, from a new poet. Check it out!

    What I Found

Very uplifting pieces, my dear friend. Leaps of faith require courage, and your courage has served you well. These works are honest and vulnerable, and that is what makes the best poetry. Your Thai is obviously a lucky man to have such devotion spelled out in words. I also loved the admonition of your Haiku. I must say I enjoy watching this new journey you have embarked on. Well done, Terry. Cheers!
  20. Very muggy evening... 27C... I'm going to uncover the central air tomorrow. If it gets any hotter I'll have to turn it on. Imagine... not even half way through April yet.
  21. I don't shoot bunnies.
  22. Lol. No, he went down a magic rabbit hole without a word. I did spend some time on the veranda with a Cheshire cat, though. His name is Smoky.
