Spent the day building a new cat food bin for the barn from a sixty-year-old wooden box. I had to rebuild a lot of it but it turned out really cool with a hinged lid. It stands about three and a half feet high and can hold six really large bags of cat food. Frees up room in the grain bin, and it's raccoon proof.

Happy Saturday, all! Just got back from my walk, and now I have to head out and buy horse and cat food.

Hey, ranchered! It's good to hear from you, and I appreciate you letting me know what you thought of this story. As far as 'religious claptrap', I take your point, but there is nothing in this story that promotes religion... at all. Personally, I have no use for religion, but I am a serious writer and I research extensively before I tackle any story. One of the things that surprised me in doing so was how important faith was to so many cowboys and frontiersmen. For the sake of accuracy, I chose to show how it affected their thinking and their daily lives with these particular characters. Many cowboys were isolated for months at a time, and a belief in God got them through some desolate times. As a side benefit, showing this gave me a chance to show the folly and warped-ness of religion... a subtle (and not so subtle) bit of soapbox points if you will , which you would have seen had you stuck with this story. I'm sorry my depiction of that time turned you off, but I am immensely proud of this effort. It is an accurate and entertaining portrayal of life in the Old West, which most readers enjoyed enough to ask for a sequel, which I delivered. I hope you change your mind and continue reading, but that is totally your choice. Cheers... Gary....

Hi, Terry. Are you talking about the three new ones? They're doing great, as are the three older ones who are eating and drinking and looking very healthy. My oldest mother is about to drop her kittens and she is huge. I hope there will be only three and not five like last time.
