Thank you! I am proud of this story. Mystery is so hard to write/right. How much should I reveal? How much should I hint at? And do I want to give no clues and just come out at the end and say, "gotcha"? So I tried to give hints, foreshadowing things to come. I hope I kept it vague enough there is a bit of a surprise. But if not, I had a blast constructing the mystery itself.

Sean Whitmore came awake suddenly. He tried to figure out why or what had awakened him. Gabriel was still beside him, lightly snoring in his ear. On the surface, everything was as it should be. That scene was completely re-written multiple times. The first time it was blatant that he didn't survive, then I changed my mind and made it obvious that he lived. So I settled for a bit of misdirection.

Damn it Chris, it's never enough for you is it? . I doubt I can find a place to work in more sex between two side characters.

The plan was to write the trilogy, which why it's called Gabriel's Gambit: Contract Terminated, the next book, Gabriel's Gambit: The Hunt for Mehmet, and the final book, Gabriel's Gambit: An Old Friend Of The Family. But this book took me years to write, off and on since 2002, the first version was written and then forgotten about for fifteen years. And right now, I'm averaging about 60 readers per chapter, my lowest read story in an already low average. That's too much work for no eyeballs. Sadly, I think this is going to be finished. The good news, each book was a stand alone story, so you will get the ending. For that alone, he was never going to die in that dumpster.

Michael and DJ had a huge part in the next story that I probably won't write/right, so I needed certain things to happen in this story. I agree. I never thought so many people liked Scott. I got private messages telling me I suck. But I kept that secret until today. Chris is @chris191070, I was trolling him a bit. .

Um, I did not add any sex scenes. . Most of that no sex talk was to make Chris mad. . But I'm pretty sure there is no more sex between Gabriel and Sean. Gabriel has to stop a murderer. Tomorrow, the story starts to ramp up and then it's off to the races for the remaining chapters. Around 150 pages that covers a single day.

By the way, I mis-counted. I think their might be twenty-two chapters.

So you don't think our mystery man is Frederick? I'm not sure if the timeline works. Homeland only found out about Gabriel yesterday (in narrative time), and he's been stalking Gabriel for four days now. But he might be, you will find out who he is, though, I promise, in six more chapters. .

Yes! I'm here! I am not happy with the chapter. I am currently editing it to match the vision I have in my head. It is coming soon, though. I need to end it along with my other story I'm posting, so I can focus on Part Two of Tyler's Dilemma. Sorry for the delay, but I wrote this story from the hip and didn't take my usual time to make everything pretty. But I want to end it perfectly. I need my Percy/Five fix too, I want to see how it ends! I was a bit surprised how many people seemed to like Scott. I do as well, and he is Gabriel's right hand. You don't kill the right hand in book one. . We have one more chapter to set the stage, and then its a race to the finish line. Tomorrow is going to be an interesting day. It all comes to a head in the next 24 hours.

You will come to understand just how true this statement is. Brandon is very much about his art. Brandon does seem to keep a guard up around everyone. He's very much an island. I think that left a mark on Brandon for sure. When you're seventeen, the explanation Brandon gives for his art project makes perfect sense. It did to me when I first said it. But in today's shoes, it's all teenage angst without substance. But its a great idea. If you were to ask Brandon why he answered Tyler's text, I'm not sure he'd be able to answer. But he already admitted (I think by this time in the story) that he kind of had a crush on Tyler when they were younger, so it's a mix of both. Tyler likes to run at night along the trails around the glacier. And Brandon sometimes needs to get away from his house. The glacier drew both of them for different reasons. I think Brandon is more the creeper and Tyler just happened upon Brandon one night and decided to follow him.

Is one of his skills laying little blue eggs like a Robin? That is a reference from the 30's and I'm not ashamed to admit that no one will understand this.

I really just want to share the rest of the story with those few who are reading. I'm actually rather proud of the last seven chapters. .

I wonder why the guy took a worthless cross and left the cash and jewelry. This case is just getting curioser. And what did the man mean about making a stronger message. The good news, the next chapter will be posted sooner rather than later. As soon as I get the final touches on it. I have a few editing stuff but the story is mostly finished. I just have to tie in all the new scenes, which hasn't been much.

How much do you want me to answer those questions? . I will say, I haven't read this story in over two years. And today I read the last eight chapters. And boy have I forgot how fast the last seven chapters move. I think I shall move up the posting or combine chapters to get the full story finished faster. I need to get back to creating new things instead of posting old things. .

This was a fun chapter to write/right. I'm assuming I told the story in the comments on how this scene came about so I shan't repeat it. But I've been re-reading this story and I forgot how much I enjoy it. Thanks to your comments, its brought me back to a new appreciation
