Frosted Hearts: The Talk
Jason Rimbaud commented on Jason Rimbaud's story chapter in Frosted Hearts: The Talk
For a moment, I couldn't figure out why you wanted Michael to be hurt. I had a long response, and I almost hit reply when I realized this was Frosted Hearts and not Gabriel's Gambit. Two Michaels, one is good, and one is evil. It does seem like someone is going to be hurt, and I hope it's the right one. Poor Michael, he has left the Glacier Bay Universe for good, methinks. -
After they ate breakfast, they headed into town to do some grocery shopping. But just walking around the store, Percy barely had the energy to make it back to the truck. As he sat in the passenger seat, his head back and eyes closed, Five asked, “Would you rather we just went back to PineCrest?” Percy opened his eyes and turned his head. “I’m sorry. But I’m beat. Would you mind if we just went home?” Five reached over and squeezed Percy’s thigh. “Not at all.” Percy must have fa

hahahahaahaha. You would think it would be.

Maybe he was just really drawn to the framing, shadows, and mechanics of the art as opposed to the subject matter.

Weekly Wrap Up (Feb. 15 - Feb. 21)
Jason Rimbaud commented on wildone's blog entry in Gay Authors News
I thought once I was finished with Super Bowl I could go an entire year without hearing about Sports Balls Games. I started to despise you with your hockey talk. Then you mentioned taxes and I started to love you again. I'm a business owner, I get so many deductions you'd think I had five kids. Why do people with kids get better tax breaks? I'm childless and have little to no drag on the system. People with kids use the system more, doctors, schools, whatever Chucky-E-Cheese is, they should be paying more in taxes to cover their hordes clogging up the streets with traffic. And since I love you again, I will be sending all my best hopes to those Maple Leafs or Maple Syrup, whatever your team is called, in a royal pounding of our American team. Let's do Heated Riverly 2, but with gay people playing straight roles. This time its Fabulous! And since that drunken goose left you presents from above, I could come up there and help you clean it all off. I love the snow! Just say the word and I'll hop on a dog sled and come mushing to the rescue. -
i think it's called *orn hub! .

If Lonnie keeps digging, who knows what else he'll discover. And in his own right, Sean seems to have a pretty good bullshit detector. Though if he keeps thinking with his dick, he might overlook a few things. How indeed?
-
Why indeed did he think Gabriel was the right candidate? I hope we find out. It does seem to be the MO of the entire group. DJ, James, Charlie, even Michael. They seem to live in one night stands and revolving beds. Why would Sean be any different? Lonnie is big enough all five of them could hide behind him. I'm assuming having a full security team around them could be rather helpful in avoiding certain people. That all depends on the reasons he might have slipped away silently. I think we need to find out more his motiviations. What is the old theater saying, if you show a gun in the first act, someone better be shot by the third.
-
You think there should be more sex? They only have like three more days. Gabriel has to stop an assassin, and a whole bunch of other things that are about to descend on Hershey PA. He better stop thinking with his peen and focus on the task at hand. At least, that's my opinion but what do I know.
-
I think I might have a problem!!! I would venture a guess and say, probably. He gave up his virginity, isn't that enough? . Don't start bringing in logic and things I didn't think about. .
-
Or there is something Gabriel is going through, and Sean is the catalyst. I wonder if we'll explore more of this the coming chapters? If he were anything like me, he ate it when he was a child. .
-
I love this feature. I just tried it and hearing someone reading the sex scenes was hilarious. I'm going to use this all the time to freak out my husband.

Sean Whitmore nearly spit out his beer. He quickly wiped his mouth and stared at Gabriel Foster with panic in his eyes. For a moment he struggled for an explanation until he saw the smug expression on Gabriel’s face. “Fuck you, you know, don’t you?” Gabriel burst out laughing. “Of course, I can do a reverse image search.” Sean grinned. “But I was curious to see how you’d answer though,” Gabriel said before he took a sip of beer. “So you’ve known this whole time?” Sean

I am also a firm believer that poetry, whether it's haiku, free verse, or any other, formatting is important. Many just put their thoughts into lines. But, as with commas and semicolons, gives the reader instruction on when to pause or when thoughts are linked, formatting in poetry does the same. EXAMPLE The pain temporarily slides And for a few minutes I am at peace No more do I fear front seats of cars Single beds hold no power over me And I can again smile I remember my childhood Without shaking and fear And for a while, I can dream The reader isn't sure when to pause, when to reflect on the idea. But if you break it up into stanzas, it can make the piece more powerful EXAMPLE: The pain temporarily slides And for a few minutes I am at peace No more do I fear front seats of cars Single beds hold no power over me And I can again smile I remember my childhood Without shaking and fear And for a while, I can dream There is a reason why couplets can be so powerful. And even if you forgo the usual formatting of AABBC structure, formatting will ensure your poem makes the most impact. Put as much thought into formatting as you do the individual lines. PS: Sandcastles is a powerful piece, imagery, and thought-provoking. Much like the water destroys the beauty of a sandcastle, sometimes, as humans, we are sandcastles and water. The two cannot coexist as one. This is a beautiful piece that describes the ending of a relationship and the reflections the sandcastle always makes as the water destroys us. Really good piece. I am not the author and would never tell anyone else how to format their words. Only to really think about how you group the lines, how you break them up, and stick to your formula. Sometimes lines can be grouped as 3, then 2, then 3, so on and so on. Don't group your lines by 3, then five, then 2, back to 2, then six, unless that pattern repeats. I love reading poetry. And I am off to check if you've written more. It was a powerful piece.

Frosted Hearts: The Truth Is Right There

I"m not sure you could ever disappoint me! -
So I'll admit, one of my favorite genres is Westerns. I can't write them but boy do I love them. I'm re-watching Deadwood for the seventh or eighth time. But I think two stories might have gotten mis-labeled as they are set in modern times. I thought I missed a new western but alsa it wasn't to be. Thanks for this list!

Mr. Wilson, I am very disappointed in you right now. Not sure what the punishment should be, but I'm sure it will be something you'll love and will include in one of your stories at a later date. -

Yes, now that poor Percy can no longer participate in sexual congress, they will have to navigate this relationship without being naked. So they talked and Five was actually honest and said he will no longer pretend. Interesting things to come before we each the end. And since you seem to like the story, I'm going to give you the ending. Please, no one else read this, I am sharing this only for you. -
Frosted Hearts: The Truth Is Right There

I was so hoping Five was going to punch him! Maybe in the re-write/re-right. . It was probably Seb, having his secret smoke break. That's my guess anyway. You would think Percy would have deleted all the codes for the cabinet makers (I forgot the name), Michael and his crew, just for security purposes. Too bad he can't stop thinking with his dick. -
Sean seems to be struggling with something deeper than he letting on. Whether or not it has anything to do with the breakup remains to be seen. But it seems he had no problems inviting himself over to a man's hotel room. Something has to be going on in his pretty little head. That's only three beers a piece. That's nothing compared to what he normally....you know what, this is addressed in later chapters. . I think he just wants to get to know Gabriel better and he figures a little lubrication might just do the trick.

Frosted Hearts: The Truth Is Right There

I also forgot the name of the town for two chapters, Cedar Falls. I realized this is my only story I don't know forwards and backwards due to the lack of re-writes and obsessing over the narrative. I'm surprised anyone likes it truthfully. -

It is a Christmas story after all. We could have ghosts of past, present, future, all that jazz. Maybe Ethan is a good ghost. -

With Percy and Five, he'd get a real good education that's for sure. -

Wow, I'm hurt, dejected, and...you're probably right/write, I've changed so many things about this story who knows what the next chapter is going to contain. today, I had trouble remembering what Five's girlfriend name was. . At first I thought it was Britney.
