This is really good, Parker. I love that you have set this tale in an historical setting. I do admit needing to looking up a few unfamiliar words, but to me, that just added to my enjoyment. I wonder though, did the courier de bois - for that is what he must be, right? - really experience or just imagine that night in his very weary mind?

I’m with @MacGreg. This was a great snippet, which has left my mind curious and with lots of pondering as to where this is going to go. All in due time, I will have the answers, so that’s good.
