  1. Good morning all... This recipe was in my inbox this morning. https://amyshealthybaking.com/blog/2017/02/14/healthy-apple-pie-spice-cinnamon-rolls/ Funny thing, I’d never heard of apple pie spice, but discovered its existence last week while looking for cinnamon. Having it in this recipe is a sign I must make this. I’m sure of that.
  2. Sad and angry I am. I despair where some minds live.
  3. Rant away, Chris. It’s better to vent then keep it all inside.
  4. K for the win! Good for you for getting creative and coming up with something yummy and healthy.
  5. @kbois I hope whatever is going on with your hubby is figured out and has an easy resolution. As for happy news, other than seeing a bunny on my walk tonight - yeah, cute critters get me every time - we had a T-storm earlier, so this ridiculous heat wave we’ve been having seems to be over.
  6. No, that’s not creepy in the slightest... 🤨
  7. You know this actually came to mind before I got to this point in the chapter. The explanation as to how the base got its name was a nice touch. Ritch giving a gift to those he saw as important mentors is a very thoughtful thing to do. It shows he has grown beyond the boy who filched probably more than a couple of joints from the coffee can. As for Olga’s return to Miami? I sensed a “circling of the wagons” as many hands from many directions came together to make this something really good for her. That’s a warm fuzzy kind of thing in case you didn’t know. As for C3C Donovan? Why do I think this is not going to end well? 🤔 Another great chapter, Carlos. Keep ‘em coming! Oh wait, they’re already all here. It’s me who needs to do some catching up.
  8. Matches the delivery via a huge box for something one quarter the size of said box. If you like miles and miles of paper cushioning, then you’re golden.
  9. I’ve got that too. It works well, imo.
  10. Weird. Looking on amazon they only had the five quart size in a brand other than IP. Other than the mini, the smallest IP size is six quarts. They do have this one, though, because you just know, someone out there will want one.
  11. Thanks, K. That’s sound advice.
  12. A wonderful short story that will leave you smiling.

  13. I hear you, tim. Your dinner sounds better than mine, though. At this point I’m thinking of having breakfast for dinner because it’s cold - granola cereal with hemp hearts. Edit: Maybe it’s time to get an InstaPot... Edit Edit: Took a peek at Amazon to look them up. Good grief there are are lot of choices in IP land. Oh boy, how does one pick the right one?

    Amateurs

I’m happy for you, tim. May that feeling get nothing but better until better has maxed out. xoxo
  15. You should see the length of my wish list, that will make you laugh. Mind you, I put stuff on there that pique’s my interest for something for later. I might not even buy it from Amazon if my local hardware or dollar store has it in stock. The wish list is a good way to keep track of things I might like to have at some point.
  16. The mandolin I put on my wish list comes with these gloves. That would be the manufacturer letting consumers know how sharp the blades are, I’d say.

    Amateurs

When I saw the notification for this blog, my first thought was “you’re on a roll today, tim”. After reading this blog, I now know from where that roll stems. Lucky me and everyone else for being a beneficiary of said roll. Most especially, though, I’m happy for you tim. Writing brings you joy, this I know. My wish for you is to remain an amateur. Write for the love of it as I read for the love of it. Proud of you, tim, and all you have accomplished. I really am. Oh, and thanks for sharing what you’ve learned with the rest of us, because no one is born knowing everything. xoxo

    The Farm

Very cool if I say so, myself.
  19. Heya Jay, Nice of you to stop by.

    The Farm

What a coincidence, no more were my family farmers, but they ended up in St. Catherine’s as well. Another memory of my childhood was crossing the Skyway bridge on the way to St. Catherine’s. This was back in the day when it had toll booths which my young self thought was so cool.

    The Farm

One of the things I remember from my grandparents farm is the sink in the summer kitchen. My memory is of the delight my little self felt (the farm was sold when I was three, so sometime before then) over having a sink I could stand at without needing to stand on a stool to reach it. It was meant to be sat at by a bigger person as they cleaned veggies I think. Connor’s fondness for a certain porcelain sink, brought this memory to the fore. Thanks, tim. As for the rest of it? You always manage to create characters I would love to know in real life, so that’s another reason to thank you for sharing your stories with us. Lovely people to read about on an early Saturday morning, and I must say, I didn’t miss the “siblings” one bit, I don’t think. Good thing brother only had a cameo. Connor and Jake have carved out a wonderful life for themselves with their home and business. If only we could all have a little bit of that. This was a true treat to read. Well done, tim, well done. xoxo
  22. A smart man you definitely are.
