A great review to end the year, @spike382! Aunt Mae's Magic is one of @Mancunian's small short story gems. He also has other longer stories, and the newest one you mentioned, "What Happened to the Baxter Boys", is my current favourite.
What starts out as a great sibling relationship is tragically changed by a fear-driven silence resulting in a rivalry that hurts both brothers. I loved the theme of reconciliation that results from an act of courage. This is a well-written story worthy of the time you will take to read it.
Thank you for this beautiful story filled with so much love. I've enjoyed reading each chapter. I would be very pleased to write a review, so I hope you take @weinerdog's advice and click the 'Complete' button for this story unless you plan to add an epilogue. Again, thank you so much!
Good one, Cane! My story is that I'm just catching up with the rest of you miscreants. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. If I just so happen to reach the 25 comments in a row to do it, that's only a coincidence.
The size of the fortress already created would probably suit the purpose well. Huntington kept them in separate cells. If they get dumped in the fortress Sebastian had created, they'd probably kill each other off before the next batch is delivered by Caleb and Asa.
I love the first part of your idea, but since they cannot be cured, maybe dumping them in a currently erupting volcano would be a good idea. If not, then the holding room would at least keep them out of the battle until Huntington and the rest of his army are destroyed.
Sometimes short and sweet is much better. Three pages might tire out readers and require them a lengthy time to recover before finishing the chapter. This leads me to ask, do you practice this kind of scene to make sure it works when you write it? How tired does this make your husband?
Hmmm...I can't decide if this is another red herring or if Enya is the one you've targeted for death in the battle. 🤔
And yes, it is a very good chapter!
Hey Chris! I know you said it first, but I agree and hope @kboisis listening closely to your advice. You're good for much more than keeping her on time.
