My warning was only for the next chapter to come. You have us all stirred up over Jay's injury. I don't want you facing a lynching party. This is a seriously great chapter. Your skill at manipulating our emotions is awesome. (BTW since you used the PST time zone, does that mean you live on the west coast? Only curious because I spent all my life in Oregon before I retired.)

Great chapter. I am very glad I am reading a complete story and didn't have to experience what the others did when there was a scheduling mixup. Also, it definitely is a cliffhanger in all respects. I just home Nisa's death is confirmed when they find the body. Also, hope Safan is OK.

@drsawzall I have loved your stories and enjoyed your comments. I like this new aspect to your comments. I suspect that Msgnomie and kbois are influencing you. I don't remember seeing many (if any) uses of gifs in your comments before. This one is just perfect.

They finally made it! I have been waiting for this a long time. I knew Jevikel and Kadin made it to the weyr safely, but not how. I am happy that despite the wrong assumption they made about threadfall that the rest of their story is going to be together in the weyr where they will be accepted for their worth and not who they love. I did like the realistic description and fine dialogue of their journey. I look forward to see if they will be able to impress dragons and what color they will get. I also want to see their reunion with Kemi and find out how she is doing in her new home. Great chapter!

I'll start with the last. OMG!!! WTF!! Master Teacher kbois must be very proud of her student's success. I hope both Jay and Loren survive this. Enough said about the end. I did love the chapter with Loe supporting Seamus. It was fun to imagine listening the the conversations and comments between the four men. I also thought the conversation Loe had with his team about the future direction of The Loelife. I noticed another reference to Aido's initiation of Loe into the realm of those who have been pissed on. I have an idea that if Msgnomie continues writing until Aiden becomes a teen, there will still be jokes about this incident. I think that Aiden will not be embarrassed at all, but have his own jokes in rebuttal. Great fun until the end. Excellent chapter, but I do hope our beloved Msgnomie and her fearless beta not be a second late with the next chapter.

There are so many heroes in this chapter. We probably would all agree, so I don't need to mention names. I do think that Rashan is probably the one that is most special simply because he was the least experienced and had to prove his right to defend his father. I also like the way Niven supported his family. I think he will be a good influence as an uncle to Rashan. I am waiting to see how the Ancients will punish Rashi and what will happen to the ex-Lord Ravi. I look forward to seeing how Jihan and Kastan help rebuild the Iron Lands, as well as the fait of Nisa.

I hope that Rashan immediately calls out as loud and angry as he can that the Emperor's guards have attacked him and his Papa and tried to delay his entry into the court then demand a reason for such treachery. Get the Emperor off balanced by striking first.

If you keep building up the tension much longer, I'm afraid for my health. I love the twists and turns of this plot. Another great chapter, but I'm waiting for some relief here.

As the event has unfolded, both Kastan and Jihan have done what they each needed to do to protect their family. I agree Ferino is ignorant and prideful to the point of being evil. His wife is a truly courageous person who deserves a better husband than Ferino. I look forward to Jihan, Kastan and Rashan appearing in the Imperial Court to confront Kiyan and send the Empress, Lord Ravi and their allies to their deserved deaths. Maybe in celebration, Kiyan and his sons can spend time with their family in Silver Shore Valley. Great build up to the confrontation. A very well written chapter.

Caleb's class with Barbeau was interesting as well as a boost to Caleb's confidence. Barbeau's request to Caleb sounded more like a demand. The phrase is an order to Dirk to call Barbeau. I hope this will help Dirk. The meeting went well, and now to the challenge with Caleb fighting his father in bond. Great chapter!

Thank you Clo. You just reminded me of an early childhood memory of my Mom. She was very upset with our outdoor cat that decided the best place to have her litter was on my parent's bed. Mom was upset for a week after, but couldn't even shout at the cat like she wanted to, because she was afraid it would upset the mother cat. She thought it might affect the milk production and starve the kittens.

That's too funny. Aod is trying to talk me into one or two more cats to keep Orange from getting bored. One cat in the condo is enough for me. She sheds like crazy so both he and I are constantly cleaning everything. Please don't volunteer to send any our way.

Wow! That was an amazing fight to death's edge. Temu and Firuz are so heroic in their defense of Jihan. Kastan and Jihan will make sure that those who planned this attack will be caught and take their revenge on them. Sui's description of the epic escape was truly awesome writing. Thanks for this thrilling chapter. I do hope that in their pursuit to kill Jihan, the ghost warriors left most of Temu's soldiers wounded, but still alive.

The meeting with Meen Kau was scary. Jihan did the right thing and Temu finally found him to end the confrontation. I respect the way Jihan handled his Pa. His father has no idea how much Jihan has done to make the Kamran so powerful. DuYi is not even intelligent to try to find out about those he and his wife now associate with. If he did, he would know that Lord Revi would not be someone to be around, let alone do business with. I would wish them a safe trip home, but we already know they will be facing Nisa's assassins.

Lady Nisa just keeps getting worse. I think I hate her more than the Empress. She holds a family in hostage, embezzles money, consorts with the enemy, is trying to kill Jihan, begs to be a concubine, and works with a Lord to overthrow the Empire. She doesn't even feel love and respect for her father and blames him for her own bad decisions.

A beautifully written chapter full of a variety of emotions with the Marriage Dance the highlight. I think the smile from Jihan that Kastan has longed to see again was probably there. Nieth's warning to Firuz was unexpected, but I suspect vital to the safety of Jihan and Rashan. I did enjoy the fact that Nieth and Firuz were able to enjoy a dance with each other.

It seems that the generals are aware of the whole situation of Lady Nisa and her ambitions of becoming the Duchess. They also see that Kastan and Rashan are very happy with Jihan in their lives. What Set has discovered and Temu found out by reading the note will definitely make the generals very upset. I think that Lady Nisa's plan will be a fail without their support. Rashan calling Jihan Papa was special. I don't think he will overlook anything that Lady Nisa does to harm the relationship with his Papa and Pa. He is one smart kid! He found an overlooked loophole that will allow his father's generals to go to the Iron Lands to search for evidence of Lord Revi's malfeasance and traitorous intents. Great chapter, although I hope Jihan reflects on his cowardly avoidance and lack of trust in Kastan's gift.

There is so much to consider in this chapter. The Ancients are worried about Jihan, Kastan and the welfare of the Empire. Nieth's observations in the mirror as well as her discussion with Ha indicate a delicate touch is quickly needed to prevent dire consequences for the Empire. Her visit with Kastan has given him information he needs to make critical decisions, especially where Jihan is concerned. I do hope that the Emperor is able to take care, permanently, of the betrayals for Lord Revi and the Empress. I wish Ha and Best good luck with their visit to the Blood Nation. I suspect that Kastan's and Jihan's greatest treasure will be Rashan. I hope that Bast arranges for one of the new Shadow Guards to protect Rashan.

I'm doing well. Got my chores done today and have been reading some stories here. Aod and his sister went out for lunch and coffee, but I decided to stay home and be lazy. Usually I go with them, but sometimes I opt out to give them some time together without me or his sister's girlfriend along. Great news about the exam. 😄
