Getting Back On The Horse

that's right, jp we all make mistakes it's not the failing, or the falling, it's the getting back up thanks for taking the time to read xoxo- 25 comments

Many years ago, I was hit with a horrible bout of depression. During some of the sessions with my therapist, he talked about affirmations. I keep some on my desk at work, I have several pages of them bookmarked on my laptop, and my husband will occasionally write one on the bathroom mirror. Reading them, seeing them, is very helpful to me. Well, last week was an absolute disaster at work, and some of that negativity carried over to my home life. I’m still working on recovering. In trying to get my head right for the upcoming week, I pulled together some of the quotes and affirmations I have stockpiled. I’ve used them in my quiet time today; reading through them again and really HEARING the words. Life is hard. Work, home, relationships aren’t always made up of sunshine and rainbows. So, I’d like to share some of these affirmations and quotes with you. If and when something goes wrong in your world, you might come here and find a quote that is uplifting to you . “Do not be embarrassed by your failures, learn from them and start again.” – Richard Branson “Success is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm.” – Winston Churchill “Success does not consist in never making mistakes but in never making the same one a second time.” – George Bernard Shaw “Victory is sweetest when you’ve known defeat.” – Malcolm S. Forbes “After every difficulty, ask yourself two questions: “What did I do right?” and “What would I do differently?” – Brian Tracy “Don’t brood. Get on with living and loving. You don’t have forever.” – Leo Buscaglia I hope your week is successful!

Buffalo Wild WIng Encounter
mollyhousemouse commented on Jason Rimbaud's blog entry in Wry Wrambling of a Rebellious Rimbaud
hot wing addiction is real! if i don't get a regular fix, at least twice a month, there's no telling what will happen. we tried BWW a few times, and we were never impressed. some of the wings were hot others not so much, my beer, was flat, sodas were watery. we once got an order that was still feathered! we have a brand new one in our area (semi rural Texas) and we've never been. we'll go to that place with the owl as symbol, that's 20 minutes up the highway, or a little place up the road. push comes to shove, i'll bloody well make my own (baked not fried though) i am older than you, younger than Daddydavek, but understand the 3 hour gaming session. My 23 year old son and i have marathon sessions about once a month. as for your other "problem" even at our age, the libido hasn't diminished. for either of us. count yourself among the lucky Jason! i'm glad you're sharing your life with us! i hope you continue to do so! -
having never been to a beach, but loving to walk barefoot at the lake, i can remember the feel you mention, the warmth from the earth, the slight abrasive feel of the sand i can see the "wetsuit clad bodies" standing around i don't know about form or style, but i liked this, it flowed nicely and painted a picture of an all too calm day at the beach thank you again for sharing your words with us

this story is like being on one of those 2 lane, winding mountain roads. One side is right up against the mountain, the other side is sheer cliff, thousands of feet straight down, where you just hang on for the ride! i do hope Harry can respect Louis' decision. there are bound to be setbacks in Donny's recovery, and moments of doubt. i'm anxious to see what's up with Miriam. not entirely sure i trust her well done tim

this reminds me, Sir, of what a former supervisor of mine taught me that is, sometimes we learn by failing, but it's the getting back up that counts, that not trying again, and even again, is the failure i also know that the things we fight hardest for end up meaning the most

there is so much in these 3 stanzas that speaks to me, but especially the last 2 lines of the first and third thank you again, WolfM, for sharing your words with us
-
your story is fiction, fiction happens outside reality i'm also in Texas i'd like to see stories that help remind what was and what will be again my vote, for whatever it's worth, is post it.
-
these last two chapters have been filled with memories, both good and bad, but all strong and part of who i am with my husband, thank you for honoring the struggle for intimacy while dealing with physical limitations in such a human, loving way
-
this story, like all of the stories you write, is full of real people, real dialogue, real life. i feel honored that you share these stories with us.

WolfM-- i had a friend who was a dancer, i can see her in this. this was in a time before cell phones, she'd call, in tears, from the pay phone in the "locker room" asking me to call the manager, pretending to be the babysitter, so she could leave early. we went to watch her one night, and it was so very sad i see her in this, in every stanza, she did have us, but there weren't any others saying thank you doesn't seem enough when writers share of themselves this deeply, but those are the only words i have so thank you, for sharing this part of you, with us

Delusions of Unworthiness
mollyhousemouse commented on MacGreg's story chapter in Delusions of Unworthiness
Sir-- only one who cares deeply would work so hard, and so long to help another overcome these types of deep seated issues would that everyone could find someone to care like you do thank you- 22 comments

WTH??!!! I was all grinning like a fool. The house is perfect, the granny flat, and the way Louis wanted to make sure that Rena had a covered walkway....perfect. And when Louis calls him my sweet-alpha-baby oh don't I know that one! lol! The guys seem to be navigating this like champs! There is an old Cary Grant movie, "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House" your descriptions of the colors remind me of a scene in that movie. I recommend googling it. And then Miriam? Even the name doesn't sound good. Oh now I really can't wait. You have me hook line and sinker...... (marking calendar for next Saturday morning!)
