    Chapter 34

Thank you! I loved reading all your reviews and getting your insight and help throughout the story. It really helps to see if I'm on the right track. I will definitely consider Shawn and Casey for a set of shorts just like Kayden and Avery. Shawn's sister would definitely be an interesting secondary character to explore.

Thank you! I always hope to get that happy medium between the building relationship and not losing readers to too much detail. So glad you enjoyed it.

Thank you. This story did take me much longer to write than the others, so I will miss them as well. Maybe a few shorts will be necessary.

  15. Chapter 34--Epilogue Casey stared blankly out over the water, the boat bobbing gently on the currents. Shawn's arms were wrapped around his waist, his chin propped on Casey's shoulder. It was finally over. Casey was still torn between feeling overwhelming relief that Martin was gone and guilt that he should feel that way. It had been hard standing next to all those people from the village, listening to their sympathies and their praise of Martin Jorss as such a wonderful man. Dr. Buratha
  16. Chapter 33 "Promise me," Shawn demanded as he finished bandaging Casey's wrist, after 'gluing' it up. He had sat Casey down on the sofa and had Casey's upturned wrist splayed across his lap as he doctored it. Casey's head had fallen to the back of the couch. He looked exhausted. Shawn was surprised that the skin superglue seemed to be working and Casey was no longer bleeding. "Promise me, if he comes back before we get out of here, you'll get down to the ocean and swim away--so he can ne

hehe, well fortunately they do live down a pretty deserted road until they reach the village.

    Chapter 32

Since it's finally done and back from the editor, I can post these last few chapters daily. Thank you so very much for the appreciation of my stories. I'm so glad to be able to share them here with everyone. It means so much to hear from you all and keeps me wanting to write (not that I'd stop, I just might not share them).

    Chapter 32

Exactly, there would be tons of debate over whether he was human or not and what kind of rights he might have, and by then Casey would have retreated into himself. Thanks again so much for the advice with the potassium chloride!

    Chapter 31

Really, the tests aren't even necessary. Martin just kept telling Casey that he needed to test him to keep him under his control. Basically, if nothing has happened to Casey now, genetically speaking, it probably isn't going to.

    Chapter 31

I'm sure he thinks there are others out there like him (and Harris) whose only goal would be to study Casey.
  25. Chapter 32 Casey stilled long enough for Martin to look at his sliced wrist. "Damn it. Your boyfriend's arrival made me cut more than I'd planned." "Maybe if you hadn't fucking cut me in the first place..." Casey griped. Martin shrugged as he wiped away blood harshly, eliciting a hiss of pain before slapping gauze down on it and wrapping it with medical tape. "You could use the skin glue, you know," Casey muttered. Martin dropped Casey's arm back down, and even Shawn winced when Cas
